My high school principal told my brother that I was the best geometry student he had even seen! I love geometric art and patterns. Geometry makes sense and comes naturally to me, and I am happy to tutor any student in it!
I do not typically provide any equipment - but I am willing to select and purchase books for the students to learn from (cost of books to be reimbursed by the student/parent) when requested to do so.
I am also willing to provide stick-on note-names for the keyboard, for young children.
The students must have their own instruments, and provide a folder for sheet music and notes/instructions.

I tutor high school and college students, and help them get ahead of the program and stand out from their peers in subjects such as chemistry (first year and organic), mathematics (algebra, calculus, vector calculus, and differential equations), physics (classical Newtonian, modern, and electromagnetism), and English essay writing skills.
My instruction extends nationwide, with students from all corners of the US, utilizing online tutoring services such as Skype.

Geometry is about logic and proving to ourselves that certain relationships between points, lines, angles, and polygons are true. These are foundational concepts that are critical to grasp if you would like to pursue higher mathematics. Students who struggle with geometry do so typically because it is a shock to be thrust into a course taught with such rigid and formalized logic. I make it my goal as a geometry tutor to break down this intimidating facade and show students how to approach and absorb geometrical concepts using simple and commonplace examples of every day experiences.
As a tutor, my goal is not to impress students with how much I know. Rather, my goal is to impress my students by showing them how easily math and science concepts can come to them when they are presented the material in a straightforward way. The late physicist, Richard Feynman, posited that the ability to explain complicated ideas in a simple manner is the true mark of understanding. I agree with this assertion, and I make it my goal each tutoring session to explain even the most complex phenomena in a simple way, so that my student will come away from the lesson invariably understanding it. Additionally, I emphasize a strong understanding of the fundamentals, because both math and science are heavily inductive disciplines; many of the theorems and laws are founded on other, more fundamental principles. I have personally experienced the discouragement of trying to learn material that is beyond my foundation level, and so I can empathize with students who are in that boat. Fortunately, I have learned that the remedy is always a return to, and a strengthening of the basics. That is the approach I take with students who find themselves struggling in a course.
My online teaching platform is a “black board” drawing program that my students can follow along with as I explain concepts and solve problems. I simply share my screen with them during the session, and at the end, I take a screenshot of the notes and email it to my students for their reference. I am a math instructor, teaching small classes as well as individual lessons. I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Puget Sound in 2016 and am open to all ages and all levels. I would cater lessons to the student's specific goals and strive to help them better understand difficult concepts as well as build a solid foundation for higher level math.
When I was a child, my uncle, a doctor for the CDC in Atlanta, was visiting for Christmas. I only saw him once a year, and this year he gave me a pink plastic recorder. After becoming immediately obsessed with the small instrument, I begged my parents for lessons. “Lessons on the recorder?” they laughed. Every Christmas, my uncle would bring a duet book, and we would play duets on recorder. Finally, in third grade, my parents started me on piano and the next year, I began private lessons on
I found my passion for playing at a young age. I believe that although it is important to build good technique, practice habits, and musicality, it is also important to keep the passion and joy that playing music can bring us. As I grow as a person and a musician, I always try to remember what brought me to music in the first place: playing and enjoying music with my friends and peers.
Aside from performance, I discovered my passion for teaching as I started working with students in private lessons and working as a camp counselor at a woodwind camp. I was invited to sub with the Auburn Symphony and was excited to perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 2 beside my mentor and friend, Jennifer Nelson. While I was in high school, I was a coach for one of the local swim teams and had a blast getting to teach people how to swim and such, and the best part was getting to connect with those kids and seeing them succeed during the swim meets.

Learning requires the student to put in effort. Any assignments I give, I will expect them to be completed. I understand that sometimes one of "those weeks" comes around where life hits us in the face, but it's not every week.
You've come to me obviously to learn something new, and I intend to go above and beyond those expectations. I want the lessons to be more than just sit down, do the work, and then leave. That's not a great way to learn stuff, in my opinion. Expect to be brought out of your comfort zone a bit and experience things you never experienced before.
