Allison's dedication to teaching is obvious from the moment you start with her. As someone with a lot of trouble sticking with the more tedious parts of practice, her consistency and energy did volumes for my attitude and ability to stay on track. That she's still a student herself seems to inform her teaching all the time - Allison understands that some things just click more than others, and she doesn't get frustrated when you need extra help or encouragement. I would recommend her to anyone!

I have been teaching math for several years now and understand the need for a good foundation. I work with students to find any concepts they have missed or do not fully understand. My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!

About Benjamin
I have extensively studied vocal performance for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I currently work for a recording studio (Sound Summit Studios in Naperville IL) where I teach voice and help singers record their music in the studio. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the U.S.

I have a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectat
ions that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.

*** Lesson Details ***
Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer'€™s voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.

During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.

Math, it's more than just the numbers. It's all about the methods and logic behind those numbers.

As an engineer from both Intel and Apple, I understand how various types of math are used in the real world. As an electrical & computer engineering graduate from Cornell University, I also understand the chalkboard theory as well.

About Marwan
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I started playing piano when I was 3, and began writing music when I was 6. I've taught music and piano for over 12 years.

We could not be happier with Marwan! Most importantly, my daughter is thriving with his instruction -- though we like him too :) Marwin brings expansive experience in piano and beyond. For piano, he's got a great balance of being exacting and precise with instructions yet just as flexible as we need him to be if my daughter hasn't been able to practice due to other demands. We like that he doesn't make her feel guilty about that -- but is patient and able to get her on track so she can fulfill her amazing musical potential. We love his in-depth knowledge in a variety of things and he's charming, warm, and humorous to be around. Highly recommended: you'll enjoy meeting and working with him.

Wow! We are so grateful for Marwan. He comes to our home, teaches 3 hours of 5 consecutive lessons and he still has a smile on his face when he leaves late in the evening. He's knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and enjoyable. His expectations are high, but attainable. I have seen a marked improvement in my children during the last three months of lessons!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Education & Credentials ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I graduated with a degree from UCLA with high honors (Dean's Honors List, Magna Cum Laude) in Integrative Biology & Physiology. I also took many classes at UCLA in education, linguistics, history, and English. I had a cumulative GPA of 3.838 with 265.5 completed units at graduation and was a 10-time Dean's Honors List Recipient. I also was a member of the UCLA Regents Scholar Society, the Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Societies, the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society, and Christian Students at UCLA. I worked as a TA for several undergraduate classes at UCLA, including Education 92F and Life Sciences 2-3. I also have gone through rigorous UCLA and Stanford University graduate-level coursework in science, math, educational strategies, and curriculum & instruction.
I have scored at the 98th percentile on the SAT I/II tests and received the highest score of 5 on multiple AP exams (see below for more details) as a high school student, achieving the AP Scholar with Distinction award by the end of my junior year. I have been the recipient of over $350,000 worth of many university merit-based invitational and scholarship honors and awards. Some of the most notable scholarships I have been awarded are the Regents Scholarship from both UCLA and UCSB. Both provided me with a large monetary award (full-ride), priority enrollment, 4 years of room and board, and many other privileges, honors, and incentives.
The SAT examinations that I have scored at 98th percentile or higher are as follows: SAT I; SAT II - Math 2; and SAT II - Biology (M). I also took many AP exams during high school, achieving the AP Scholar with Distinction award by the end of my junior year. Some of the exams that I have taken include: AP Physics B (Score = 5); AP Chemistry (Score = 5); AP Biology (Score = 5); AP Calculus AB (Score = 5); AP Statistics (Score = 5); AP US Government & Politics (Score = 5). I continuously study and retake the SAT, ACT, and AP Exams to stay on par with both the big and small changes each year to the exams.
~~~~~~~~~~~ My Personal Message to You ~~~~~~~~~~~

One of the wisest teachers once said that poor grades, study habits, and test scores are not life-threatening, but they are college-, job- , career-, and quality-of-life threatening. The most competitive students take a pro-active approaching to academics and tutoring while the least competitive take a reactive approach. All you need to do is watching the documentary 'Two Million Minutes' by Bob Compton to realize why students in other countries such as India and China surpass American peers in almost every subject, especially language (writing, grammar, etc.), math, science, and engineering-related subjects. They attend extra classes and tutoring from 6-7 AM in the morning to almost midnight.

In today's fast-paced and competitive job market, there is simply too much to lose by not investing now in your child's or your education. If a student is struggling, it makes sense to get him/her the help needed so that the time spent in school is worthwhile. Great grades and test scores can open doors that may have been previously closed and are also significant factors when determining scholarships, so investing time and effort now can pay off substantially in the future. Finally, let's not forget the most important part in all of this: the student. The confidence, knowledge, and skills that a student gains through effective tutoring can last a lifetime.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch. Every day spent waiting is another class or lecture's worth of material that you might potentially fall behind or another low quiz/test/exam score that will only make it harder to recover from. I have had too many students who could have received the grade(s) they wanted had they contacted me from the beginning.

Personalized lesson plans, methods catered to your learning strengths, challenging but rewarding sessions, and guaranteed improved or consistent grades. Let's take down the "bad at math" myth - anyone can do it, and that means YOU can do it!

About Megan
I am a fourth-year astronomy and physics undergraduate student at the University of Florida with over two full years of freelance and hired tutoring experience and previous years of volunteer tutor experience. I was employed with the University Athletic Association as a physics tutor to student-athletes for a year. I also worked as a university-employed tutor to provide teaching assistance to college algebra courses. In high school I participated in the IB Program and took AP classes as well, so I know how the work load can get for today's students, but I also know how to help! My students always show marked improvement in grades after only a couple weeks with my help! I go out of my way to learn a student's strengths - I have no problem making a fool out of myself by singing a song if that's what helps the learning process. Feel free to
ask me more about my experience or philosophy!

Megan was GREAT! My daughter wasn't sure at first about having an online tutor because she thought it wasn't going to work out for her. After the first lesson, she was amazed at how great it was and Megan was able to help Corinne understand her algebra problems with much more clarity! The lesson was a huge success and we look forward working with Megan for the rest of the school year! Highly recommend!

Ever ask yourself, "When am I ever going to use this...?" I make math relevant to the real world. I teach methods to check work, do mental math, and logical problem solving to address even the hardest of math problems. I have proven methods for doing the often dreaded "story problems" as well...!

I let my students tell me what they understand about a problem, and then fill in the blanks from there. I have found that if a student can explain how and why a problem is solved in a particular way, that they will be able to solve other problems with confidence and ease!!

About David
I use real world examples to explain the concepts that I am teaching. Everything that I teach, I have done professionally. Sharing my knowledge is a passion of mine, and I truly enjoy helping people gain knowledge.

David is very knowledgeable in writing and specially resume writing.Me and many other students in school have been advised by him for resume writing. He knows different helpful tools to use for making a very professional resume, like valid references to select the best fit words.
During the process of editing my resume he also taught me different methods to update and edit my resume by myself .He spends as much time as he thinks is required to have an excellent result. Also it was clear that due to his valuable experience he has a very wide horizon which leads to his ability of writing various writing texts.
Beside that, he is very passionate and generous to help others and definitely very active updated in the areas of his work. Truly, His nice character makes it really pleasant for anybody to work with him .

Dave has been very helpful and patient. As a busy mom that I am I had never had the time to learn and master any skill in the kitchen. He has share with me skills that I had been able to implement in my life to facilitate and expedite my time in the kitchen. My family is enjoying the cookies, and cakes and I am able to prepare myself.

I am a former employee of David's and I had expressed interest with updating and making my resume more advanced. He gave me some of the best advice, suggestions, and even referred me to a couple of websites that proved to be very helpful. During the review process, David first pointed out all of the good aspects I had on my original resume. On the parts he thought should be tweaked or edited, he gave advice and pointers in a positive manner. He also took his time really picking apart the resume, making sure he was giving me 100% of the information that he could. With confidence, I can say I am now very proud of my resume and happy with how my strengths really stand out, thanks to the help given from David.
