About Jenny
Music
Jenny comes from a very musical family and started piano when she was five years old. She grew up constantly listening to her father practicing his guitar and brother practicing violin. Since then, her accomplishments include an Honorable Mention at the Korea Times Youth Music Competition. She has performed in two solo recitals and has performed biannually with the Beverly Hills Chamber Orchestra. Jenny has participated in the Frederic Chopin Felix Mendelssohn Minifest 2005 and has regularly performed at the Colburn School of Performing Arts from 2003 - 2008. Jenny was also a part of the Goldcoast Chamber Music Festival and was awarded the second prize at the Chamber Music Walker Competition. She has excellent communication skills and has worked as an assistant to the Program Coordinator at Montecito Summer Music Festival while al
so participating as a performer. In addition to her musical abilities, Jenny has received many academic honors as well. She is a member of the Agoura High Chapter of the California Scholarship and is also on the Dean’s List at the University of Southern California. She graduated from USC with a BA in Music and emphasis on Piano.

Jenny started teaching neighborhood kids while she was in high school and has continued to inspire her students throughout her academic studies. She strives to make every lesson different, tailored to individual student’s needs, whether he or she is a beginning toddler or in need of advanced technique.

Dance
Jenny has always had a passion for the performing arts. During her years at USC, she discovered Latin dancing. She has performed, choreographed, and taught for USC's Latin dance team Break On 2 and is still involved. She has participated and performed at numerous salsa and bachata festivals/congresses.

Music
As a teacher, I try to make music learning as fun and well-rounded as possible. Every student is unique, and I try my best to accommodate every individual's needs. I encourage students to always ask questions, no matter how silly it might sound, and to trust me to help you achieve your goals. I encourage students to tell me their favorite songs and genre of music and use the knowledge to help keep them motivated, to remind them that learning is fun.

For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs.

I learn something new from every student, love seeing my students improve and gain confidence in themselves. I ask that students come with an open mind and be prepared to make mistakes because no piece is perfect and neither are lessons. Lessons give you the opportunity to make mistakes without judgement. You can trust me to always have a positive attitude, it is OK to make mistakes, but practice to play better, and enjoy the feedback to see yourself improve! Learning piano does not happen in a few lessons and is a lifelong rewarding process. I hope to see you treat music with respect, so let's make beautiful music together!

Dance
I also provide choreography for wedding dances (couples, father/daughter). My main focus is on the social aspect of Latin dancing, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and cha cha. Thus, I will only take students who are able to go out dancing to studios, restaurants, and clubs, meaning 18+ individuals or groups. Every week, I will provide new, cool, and stimulating choreography that supplements technique while developing your own unique style. I love to see my students out on the dance floor, implementing moves learned and having fun! Dancing is a healthy, joyful activity. Get ready for a confidence boost and let's get your heart pumping!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music - Upright piano and teaching/practice materials.
Dance - Music playing device, carpet.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Music - Student should have a keyboard or piano and practice related materials. Dance - Ladies should have secure, comfortable heels. Gentlemen should wear non-rubber soled shoes. Preferably wood or laminate floor. Carpet is ok but will have a harder time developing technique. Also should have some sort of stereo or speaker system, a computer is OK if it is loud.

*** Specialties ***
Piano: All Ages and All Levels. Classically trained. Encourage students to incorporate favorite songs/genres of music be it rock, pop, jazz, etc.

Dance: Wedding dances and Latin styles for social dancing, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, & cha-cha. Personal choreography based on routine moves augmented by current trends.

Tutoring: elementary to middle school subjects. study skills, hw help.

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Master in all math concepts. Can identify student shortfalls and address them through the subject fundamentals approach and by tying in real world applications for easier grasp of material.

About Daniel
I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 10 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success!

Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attribute
d to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.

Math:
• Elementary • Pre-Algebra • Algebra 1 & 2 • Geometry • Pre-Calculus
• Trigonometry • AP Calculus • Applied/Business Calculus • Differential Equations

Physics:

I have a passion for mathematics, because it is universal, and I travel a lot. So practically, it's the one language that I can communicate with everyone with. one of the highlight of my math career was when I used the math I'd mastered to create and program an awesome automated condiment dispenser, and help a doctoral student get an 'A' on her statistics assignment upon starting our lessons just two days before the due date.
And yes, I love sharing my vast pool of mathematical intellect with anyone whose willing to 'swim' in it, by breaking it down theorem by theorem until it's an 'empty set', that I can reassemble into a more understandable and entertaining form.

About Amadou
I am a distinguished graduate from Illinois Tech with a bachelor's of mechanical engineering. I make it my duty to break down many of the complexities in math, science and engineering that have been plaguing students since the beginning of time. I have over 10 years of teaching experience teaching students of all ages math, science and ACT/SAT prep who have went on to make 180 degree turns in their grades. This field experience has allowed me to develop the patience and understanding that is crucial in producing stellar students.

As an engineering-inclined individual, I encourage an exemplary study ethic in my students as well as an organized and systematic approach geared towards maximizing student grades/scores. I also bring results by relating to my students by incorporating elements of the things that they like (sports, hobbies, m
usic, etc...) into their most challenging courses allowing them to even potentially develop a passion for their most difficult courses. I always make a conscious effort to work at each student's own pace and I make it my priority to decompose the most challenging topics into components that can be more easily internalized by my students, effectively increasing their grades and giving them the self-confidence and enthusiasm they need to get killer grades. I guarantee quality, commitment, and results!

Having lived in over 20 countries has also permitted me to maintain my patience, composure and sense of flexibility and open-mindedness when dealing with even the most extreme personalities. I believe that everyone has potential; however potential is worthless unless put in motion. And experts like me take pride in our abilities to give students that push, that jolt of energy that galvanizes them into pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps, allowing them to achieve academic excellence.

I am an Engineering Student and I have completed math up to Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. I have a good grasp on Mathematical concepts, so I am able to explain problems to others in a way that can be easily understood.

I can teach all math subjects up to 3nd year Calculus, and Differential Equations. I can inform students of which concepts are important for future math classes to better prepare them for passing their next classes!

About Trevor
My name is Trevor Karpinski, and I'm a College student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have achieved an AA in Mathematics and a Certification of Pre-Engineering at Irvine Valley College. I am currently enrolled at California State University, Fullerton in my Junior Year, with my B.S. expected in Spring 2020.

At a young age, I was fascinated with physical objects and I loved to understand the inner-workings of everything around me. Mathematics came naturally to me, and as I advanced into High School, Engineering was suggested to me and I knew that it was the perfect path. My passion in Engineering is Mechanical Design, and I hope to pursue a career in Renewable Technologies in the Automotive industry.

Tutoring is a comfortable place for me because I love teaching others about the underlying concepts that govern large
systems. I believe that understanding the details is what truly makes a great student, and learning from a conceptual angle has served me well, as well as the students I have tutored.

I have helped many students with Calculus, Physics, and Engineering classes. I have and continue to keep a detailed record of all class material, making past knowledge easily accessible for every tutoring session. I have a patient personality, and I am able to explain difficult concepts in much simpler, and easier to understand ways. Through years of tutoring, and actively being a student, I understand that everyone learns differently and I am equipped with several different techniques and teaching styles to uniquely help you understand tough topics in a customizable way.

I can tutor all levels of Math students, from Kindergarten through College level, including difficult topics such as Differential Equations, College-level Physics, and up to intermediate Chemistry.

If you're looking for help with homework, or help with understanding difficult concepts to get the A you deserve, I'm the tutor for you!

He was always punctual and efficient. Highly recommend!

I am a math instructor, teaching small classes as well as individual lessons. I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Puget Sound in 2016 and am open to all ages and all levels. I would cater lessons to the student's specific goals and strive to help them better understand difficult concepts as well as build a solid foundation for higher level math.

About Jenna
I am a performer, teacher, and student. While working towards a Masters in Performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Burt Hara at Cal State Fullerton, I have subbed with local orchestras as well as participated in recording projects in Orange County. At the University, I perform with the wind symphony, orchestra, and new music ensemble.

When I was a child, my uncle, a doctor for the CDC in Atlanta, was visiting for Christmas. I only saw him once a year, and this year he gave me a pink plastic recorder. After becoming immediately obsessed with the small instrument, I begged my parents for lessons. “Lessons on the recorder?” they laughed. Every Christmas, my uncle would bring a duet book, and we would play duets on recorder. Finally, in third grade, my parents started me on piano and the next year, I began private lessons on
clarinet.

I found my passion for playing at a young age. I believe that although it is important to build good technique, practice habits, and musicality, it is also important to keep the passion and joy that playing music can bring us. As I grow as a person and a musician, I always try to remember what brought me to music in the first place: playing and enjoying music with my friends and peers.

Aside from performance, I discovered my passion for teaching as I started working with students in private lessons and working as a camp counselor at a woodwind camp. I was invited to sub with the Auburn Symphony and was excited to perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 2 beside my mentor and friend, Jennifer Nelson. Today, I am indebted to the inspiration my uncle gave me as a child and all my teachers for my opportunity to pursue a Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance at Cal State Fullerton.
