I have taught English to Koreans back in Seoul for more than 8 years, so I know exactly how different these two languages are.

Based on this understanding of how I need to approach non-Korean speaker especially whose mother tongue is English, I am confident that I can let you start studying Korean the easiest way and make the class fun with lots of introduction of Korean cultures and history.

About Suyoun

Hello! My name is Sue and I've been teaching English to Koreans, Koreans to English speakers since 2007. From this long experience, I learned how different and opposite these 2 languages are, so I can teach my student how to learn this beautiful Korean language the most efficient way and fun.

Our 10-year-old son loved his Korean lessons with Suyeon! She is very organized and gives clear explanations and examples. Every time he would finish a lesson, he'd always emerge from his bedroom, and say "that was really fun" or "I really like Suyeon." She's a great teacher, and we hope to resume in the future.

I came to USA at age of 15 and learned English in Mid-West most of my life. I love using idioms in both language. In Korean up-to-dated direct translation of "you're welcome" is "what?" why? because they meant "oh no what are you talking about? don't mention it"
Let's learn the language while having fun. Take a lesson from me.

Johan is great with kids! My son is a very active child, and he was able to make the lesson fun and engaging. More than that, I enjoyed seeing Johan be creative, listen to the child, and make music fun, more than being it a lesson (per say). I highly recommend Johan!

Sulina Baek is a good teacher that I had the fortune of working with over the past 2-3 months. She is patient and gives useful coaching tips to improve technique. At the same time, I never felt overwhelmed with too much information during our lessons. Sulina kept everything manageable and actionable and that helped me make a lot of progress. Thus we often covered a lot of ,music lesson, and frequently ran out of time. She is also very knowledgeable in canon and in theory, which has helped me figure out what standard to aim at during my own practice. Sulina helped me turn my motivation into audible results.

"My last review was 2 months ago. Today was my 8th lesson with Sunho, and we reviewed what we've learned the past 7 weeks. (in the 75-80 minute lessons)

In this review, we covered the first 5 or so weeks in less than half an hour. I've had numerous teachers, including 3 others from this site, but she really is one of the best I've seen professionally. My other teachers all commented on how much I've learned so quickly, too.

Her lessons have been some of the most stressful ones for me, but especially after this review, I truly believe they've been very helpful for me. Lessons that used to take 75 minutes for me to complete could be reviewed in minutes.

In short, if you're serious about learning a language, Sunho will do a great job teaching you vocab along with grammatical rules. I strongly recommend her."

"I love Suyeon so much! She is such an a amazing teacher and extremely patient. I remember she would teach me a word and ask me to repeat it and I would instantly forget it, she simply didn't get angry and taught me the word in a different way so I could remember it. My Korean is improving everyday and I couldn't have gotten this far without you. 선생님 감사합니다!!! :)"

I was impressed at how well he explained Korean grammar--his explanation of particles was the best I've ever received from any tutor or teacher. I also appreciated how he had two nice PDF textbooks to use as the core of our class. Strongly recommended!"
