I have tutored multiple students in reading from young beginners to older students working on comprehension. Generally, I work with students on their current homework, but also use the Spectrum books found at your local Barnes and Noble for extra help.

About Debbie

Tutoring has been a major part of my life for over 7 years and I love it. Seeing the excitement in a student's eyes when they finally get something they've struggled with is why I do what I do. My strength is in getting to know the way a student learns best and finding techniques that support that

Depending on students' needs, our lessons may cover phonics, phonemic awareness (ie. sounds, syllables, and words), fluency, vocabulary, and/or reading comprehension.

About Marshal

I've been involved with music for nearly my whole life. I started out with Suzuki violin lessons and then switched to the piano when I was in the 2nd grade and have been performing, studying, composing, and teaching ever since. I graduated from Yale with a Bachelor's in History and afterward e

I recently took an intro to piano class from Marshal via Zoom. He e-mailed the course .pdf materials promptly after booking so that I could visually go over the lesson ahead of time. He had an easy going manner about himself and was okay with me interrupting on several occasions to ask a question or tell him I already knew the material being taught. Definitely recommended for beginners and children!

With a degree in English Literature, reading comprehension has been the most important aspect of my academic career. I know how to help you confidently navigate and come to a more complete and nuanced understanding of what you are reading, the main morals, motifs, and main purpose of each piece you read.

Our focus will of course be on coming to a complete and correct understanding of exactly what you are reading. Depending on the level you are at, our sessions will eventually inspire you to develop your own bold and unique opinions on everything that you read going forward.
