I started sewing at age 8 (thanks mom!)

I have a degree in technical theatre with an emphasis in costume design and technology. I design costumes for community theatres, opera companies and drag queens.

I helped teach sewing and costuming during my degrees. I believe in starting beginners with familiarizing themselves with their machines and how to read patterns.

I would love to share my years of experience designing, sewing and crafting with you!

As a sewing instructor, I aim to give beginner and intermediate students the time, attention, and encouragement needed to complete their projects so that they have the best experience possible. My goal is to teach you at your individual pace and level so you are comfortable with your sewing materials and equipment. You will be introduced to the sewing supplies needed at your instructional level such as commercial patterns, sewing kits, sewing machines, and more.

Online students receive a introductory call to discuss project goals and materials needed prior to class.

I have been a professional costume designer since 2003 and have sewn everything from everyday apparel to sci-fi outfits to full-body monster costumes. I can teach you basic skills in a step-by-step curriculum fashion or I can help you create a specific project that you have in mind. Do you want something special for an event or do you want to make something out of some fun fabric you found? I am very flexible and enjoy being creative, so bring me your challenge and I will help you give it life!

I teach all levels including kids 7 and up.

Hello my name is Shea. I am a Philly Native. I am located in Southwest Philadelphia ten minutes from the Philadelphia Airport. Classes are held in my home. I am offering group and individual lessons. In short, I enjoy sewing, cooking, and making jewelry.

I’m a self taught seamstress with training and experience in garment construction and pattern design. I have taken professional classes to sharpen my skills. I specialize in teaching the novice seamstress. We will complete projects together every step of the way.

I am excited to learn and create custom made pieces with you.

I've graduated from AIU University for Fashion Design and Marketing. I Design most of my on clothes when I can't find what I'm looking for in stores. I love sharing my creations with others. Ive taught students at my home one on one. I've taught at Joan's fabrics for a year. I've had classes as large as 15 students at one time. They where all beginers. I have had a very good Success rate.
