About Kelvin
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis.
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc....
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

Kelvin is a phenomenal teacher of classical guitar. Our teenage son wanted to take classical lessons for a while, after having happily done a couple years with School of Rock. He and Kelvin meshed well, and I feel our son learned a lot over the course of a couple more years.

When one of us had a schedule conflict, we had the ability to do a lesson via Skype. Let me tell you, that came in mighty handy in the winter of 2019.

Schedule with Kelvin; I am certain you'll be glad that you did.

Learning and enjoying anything depends on practice experience as well as separate tactics that cause you to be unique and create an advantage only you have.

When I first began my search for an acting coach I was stressed out because I knew I needed help but I didn't know how to start. Luckily I found the Director, Omar. The Director began by interviewing me to see what my goals and potential were. He then developed a specific lesson plan designed around what he called "The Fundamentals" and I progressed since then. Now after a few months of the Directors support, I know confidently that I am an Actor. I learned things about human behavior and method acting that I couldn't find in any video or online source. The Director somehow made things simple to understand and I'm glad for it. I am not done with the lessons, but since he has supported me and shared his knowledge, the least I can do is share my experience. Thank you Director!

I've been playing piano for 27 years, and I've been a touring musician & recording artist for 15 years.

I can teach anything about any keyboard or synthesizer: piano, organ, rhodes, analog synths, digital synths, software synths, Ableton Live, midi setup, production, beat making with midi, and the list goes on.

I'm also a trained vocalist. I can teach vocal lessons, but each student has specific needs vocally, so let me know what your goals are for your voice. Recording? Live performance? Just would like to sing better, but no specific goals?

I can teach songwriting, production, arranging, and how to be in a rock band. I have a wide range of experience in the industry, so I can teach anyone how to go beyond their instrument, and develop their music further into full compositions either by on their own, or with a band.

I've ta
ught professionally for 4 years at Band Aid School of Music in Austin, Texas.

I've released multiple professional albums, and I have countless hours of experience in multiple professional recording studios, including my own.

I've toured all across the United States, Canada, U.K., and mainland Europe.

I teach gospel piano and beginner piano, flute, chess and English/ESL.

Use your ears, use your fingers and all the other gifts God gave you to assist during your local worship service. I come from a long line (4 generations) of church musicians. I trained classically on piano and flute - and can teach the basics for both instruments across genres. I have also been a journalist for The Associated Press (gotta have a day job!). And have done grant writing work for nonprofits. I can help you improve your English writing and speaking skills. And I love to play chess (gotta have a hobby!). But when it comes to Gospel - you need a little theory and a lot of heart and soul to develop your musical ear! Come join me at my storefront church or we can meet up online. After you get the scales and common chord structures down, you'll be ready
to go!

Greetings! I have been crocheting since my grandmother taught me when I was a child. Since that time, crocheting has become one of my most passionate forms of artistic expression! I crochet anything from dish cloths to clothing, handbags to blankets, wallets to wall tapestry. I have taught crochet to students from 8 years old to high school.
Crochet brings me joy and brings joy to others. My desire is for you to also experience joy in creating beautiful, colorful items. For beginners, we'll start with the very basics and grow from there. For more experienced crocheters, we'll start from where you are, and move to more advanced stitches. I can't wait to meet you and get started!
