Dr. Nupur is the best teacher ever, we feel lucky to have found her at takelessons.

Her background is impeccable and in addition, she is a teacher who cares. She cared about my daughter, her progress (high school, chemistry) and well-being. My daughter's progress in less than 1 month was amazing: she went from 'we're a bit concerned for your grade' to the point she was helping others in class.

Ashwini assumed that I was married upon meeting her, and asked me when I was getting married as soon as she learned I wasn't married. She also asked where I was getting married, even though at the time I wasn't engaged. Even when I made it apparent I wasn't engaged, she continued to refer to my boyfriend as my fiance.

She would send me political things going on in India, even though I have no interest, and it has nothing to do with the lessons I was taking from her. She asked me if my boyfriend was voting, and many personal things that shouldn't be asked of a student learning Hindi.

She often moved my scheduled time around without asking, which meant that I needed to move my schedule around in order to attend her sessions.

As a teacher she was pretty good, but some things disappointed me there too. For instance, I made a sentence in which a jeweler was a woman, and she stated that can't be correct, because there are no woman jewelers. I'm a woman engineer, and it's really sad to see such a sexist thing. Even when I attempted to ask about how you would say something about a woman jeweler, she said it was impossible. Later she said nurses could only be woman.

Students can take lessons to learn just conversational hindi. They will be able to speak basic sentences from first lesson and in 15-20 lessons, should be able to have a good conversation. They can learn to read and write, the way I teach students can start reading words from the very first lesson. They should be fluent reader in 15 lessons.

Taruna seems very good at getting kids interested in learning. My kids had their first session yesterday and she kept the conversations a mix of Hindi and English - that probably was a big reason my kids felt comfortable and ready to continue learning with her. Also, she is pleasant and welcoming.

I've had a wonderful experience learning Hindi with Taruna. I went to classes for over a year, and learned more than I would have imagined.
She has multiple academic resources to help make learning experience easier and fun, as well as helps students practice different skills in each class.
She covers all areas (speaking, reading, listening, grammar, writing) with a well defined methodology, that help to learn gradually but steadily.

She wrote the books used for the sessions, which I find very intuitive because they grow in complexity as you read.

I also found quite helpful that she was flexible with the hours available, otherwise it would be very challenging to find a good time for the class due to my job requirements.
