Mya Mya is an excellent teacher. I know a teacher when I work with one because I'm a teacher myself. She is thorough and takes no shortcuts. She can read and duplicate patterns to a 't'. I am so proud of the tote bag that I made; everone tells me that I bought it because it looks so well done.

I am an AFPA certified personal trainer and hula hoop expert. In addition to working as a personal trainer at LaFitness, I have taught Hooping for Fitness and Performance at a local community center. I've been practicing origami for over 20 years. My love of animals as a kid inspired me to learn origami so I could fold my very own paper zoo. Now, I teach students of all ages and skill levels to fold. I've also been a theatre educator for nearly a decade and I love empowering the inner artist in all of us.

I'll work with you to master the common folds and bases, learn all kinds of models, and show you how to read diagrams so you can keep folding on your own, and even try your own original designs. In addition to creating pieces of art, origami exercises hand-eye coordination and can feel as calming as meditation. After every session, you will come away with amazing paper creations!

Just by folding paper, you can create beautiful pieces of art in five, twenty-five, or one hundred and five steps, from a simple fish to a three-headed dragon. The art of Origami truly has no bounds.

I'm currently based in Arlington, VA but I often travel for my theatre work and will keep my ...

Jeff was such an amazing teacher. He came to our home and even brought the special paper with him. Our son who is 7 and his friends (8-9yrs) thoroughly enjoyed learning how to fold origami and it was a creative fun way to spend the afternoon. We hope to do it again soon.

"Donna is a great sewing teacher! She worked with my 11-year-old and was patient, clear, and engaging. Being 11, my daughter was underprepared, but Donna had a project lined up for her. Donna taught skills she hadn’t learned or mastered like zippers, buttons, ironing, and fabric choice.

I highly recommend Donna. And will be taking lessons from her myself!"

"Sam is a truly fantastic teacher. I am a clinical counselor and very picky with giving praise to anyone in the helping and teaching professions, but Sam, who (among other qualifications), also has a psychology AND teaching background, has a gift of making children feel almost instantly accepted, cherished, and excited. He is patient, warm, strategic but flexible, always adjusting to my daughter's needs in an instant. Sam provides that perfect combination of inciting commitment and a disciplined approach to learning while allowing a child to grow in his or her own pace and have fun while doing it that most children need, and I can whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone."
