Hi, I am a Korean tutor. I was born and had been educated in Seoul, Korea. I love travel, TV shows, and lovely songs. I guarantee you these methods are quite effective and fun way to learn language. If there is somebody struggling to learn Korean or planning to go to Korea etc., please feel free to talk to me and I am glad to help you on that.
I graduated with my BA in English. Ever since I started tutoring Korean, I realize this is my thing. I teach all different levels, beginner, intermediate, and advance. For beginner-level students, it would be important not only to learn basic grammar an
d expressions but to realize how fun this language is to learn. For intermediate-level students, I will provide class materials with more complex grammar and expressions. For those who are upper-intermediate or advanced-level, we can think about what we use as our lesson materials. They can be new article, books, and movies etc.
I usually get an idea of teaching materials from students while they talk about their hobbies and interests. If you start a Korean lesson with me, you would not feel learning Korean is work but more like enjoying fun activity.
Let me know if you have any help with learning this language. It is alright to ask me about effective tips to study Korean or whatever you are curious about. I will look forward to hearing from you :-)
My video introduction is available! Please check. ***************************************** Let's learn Korean together and have a great time! I look forward to working with you. :) ****************************************** I grew up in Seoul, South Korea but I currently live in the U.S. Since 2015, I have started teaching Korean to English speakers including groups and one-on-one sessions through online or in person. I have many ways I like to teach but ultimately my lesson plans are totally dependent on what YOU want. So, please let me know your goal.
※ About Lessons: My lessons are basically in Korean. So, I will try to speak Korean as much as possible. But, I still teach in English.
※ Materials: Free eBooks, PDF Homework, Listening files
※ Levels: If you are an Intermediate & Advanced learner and want to have talks with me, then let me know the following: - Which do you want more, discussion or revision? How much do you want me to speak? 50:50, 80:20, etc. - Do you want me to focus on correcting your pronunciation/basic grammar? Or to rewrite what you said?
※ Homework: Usually, my lessons have Homework. Are you okay with this? How much homework do you want? How many hours do you have for homework?
*Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No Shows* If you need to reschedule or cancel a lesson, I need to be notified 24 hours in advance. If you ask to change after this
24-hour period I will have to charge you the full price of the lesson. This same rule applies if you are over 15 minutes late and you have not contacted me beforehand. I adjust my life and schedule around these lessons, so please understand why I need to be strict about this type of situation.

Hello! My name is Sue and I've been teaching English to Koreans, Koreans to English speakers since 2007. From this long experience, I learned how different and opposite these 2 languages are, so I can teach my student how to learn this beautiful Korean language the most efficient way and fun.
How can I make the classes fun? Along with language classes, I will share lots of Korean culture and history, so the students have always interest in the Korean culture. Once you are interested in that culture, it will be inevitable not to learn the language! Always remember! Language and Culture. These are 2 things that never be separated.
Sue is the best 선생님!! I contacted her for Korean lessons this summer and she responded immediately and was able to accommodate my time schedule. She’s a very patient and kind teacher and person. I had the hardest time with pronunciation and she was able to help me really hear how the words were supposed to be pronounced and made me feel more confident. She made every lesson fun and enjoyable — every teacher should be like her.

I wanted to find someone who was knowledgeable to help lead me in the right direction in my Korean studies. I've been studying Korean at home and Herena has been incredibly helpful as a tutor! I went in knowing a tiny bit of very basic Hangul. Herena worked with me and with the book I had already purchased for studies. She is knowledgeable and personable. As a native Korean speaker I trust that she knows what she is talking about. Herena is also very friendly and relatable. Super cool that she uses the topics I am interested in for the lessons and offering cultural and historical facts as well. I've learned so much with her, you can't go wrong if she's your tutor!
"I have worked with her at the same school in South Korea. We shared a office, I could see and learn how she was working. When she was working, She always
tried to understand students level, their mind. She tried to find a better way to teach and students learn easily. She encourage students, so they can have confidence about what they learned. I want to work with her again, and learn from her more!"
"She is the best. Period."
"Great first lesson, thanks for your help!"
"I really like how he wanted to get to know the type of person I am and what I already know. We learned about each other aswell."
"Suyeon 선생님 is a very friendly, patient, and experienced teacher^^ I learned much useful grammar from her! 정말 감사합니다! 그리고 새해 복 많이 받아요, 선생님! ^^"
"Our first lesson was great! Very organized and patient. We're looking forward to our next lesson!"
"Very accommodating, flexible and a solid communicator. Really enjoying my lessons. Due to bandwidth, I do not always have time to study in between lessons
. Suyeon is very patient with this and I still manage to learn quite a bit in spite of not being able to prepare as well as I would like."
"one more amazing lesson"
"Very good lesson! My daughter really enjoyed her lesson with Suyeon and she can’t wait for her next lesson!"
