I pioneered a private Arts Academy drama school for 4 years, and am now teaching acting and directing at a middle and high school. My goal is to help students become well-rounded in all the areas that are needed to truly become a working actor. These areas include: auditioning, theater, film, and improvisation.

Being a repertory performer for Silver Star Playhouse (musical theater parodies), and having lots of experience and training in improv and interactive dinner theaters really trains you in comedy.
My husband also owns Sound waves Productions (technological advanced studio in Gilbert)- so completing remote voiceover work for a reel is not out of the question.

I also encourage students to pair in duos for effective scene work and more in-depth technique training (this will also split your lesson cost in half).

Acting is such a broad term! What are your goals? Do you want to be in films? Do you want to do Shakespeare? Do you want to be in a sit com? Depending upon what your interests are and where you want to go, we will build a plan together. My philosophy on acting techniques is that they are tools to help you, not tests you pass if you're a good actor and fail if you're a bad one. Different techniques work for different people and it is our job to find out what inspires you.

I've worked as a professional actor for many years, performed on Broadway, have my MFA in Performing Arts, and my BA in Arts and Education. I was an assistant director to Tony-winner Sharon Ott and have written and produced my own work. I have experience in both stage and camera acting, which have specific technical differences, but are both a lot of fun once you get used to the medium. I believe that acting is for everybody! Through acting, we grow our critical thinking abilities and analysis skills, as well as our ability to communicate effectively. Additionally, acting encourages self-confidence, empathy, and creativity. And of course, practicing a form of self-expression helps to blow off steam and decrease stress.

As an actor, I have experience with a variety of styles, including Shakespeare and Improv, and I am familiar with a number of methods, including Stanislavski, Meisner, Chekhov, Hagen, Alexander Technique, and Margolis Method. I believe in mind-body connection and building an actor’s toolbox for independent performers. I have taught actors of all ages and interests.

As a classically trained British actor and director with decades of experience in all genres of the business, I can help you develop your potential and talent and provide you with the tools and most importantly, the confidence, to take that audition by storm. Whether it be monologue preparation, cold script reading expertise, Shakespearean delivery, acting for camera, mastery of an accent, voice work, breathwork or movement, I will introduce you to acting techniques that will improve you performance and take it to the next level.

Best known in the UK for a starring role in a hospital soap, my career has ranged from straight drama to sit-com, theatrical comedy to Shakespeare and the classics, musical theatre to audiobook narration and voiceover.

I particularly relish helping launch young actors' careers but, whatever your age or ambition, I feel confident I can make a difference in spurring you on to achieve your goals and I promise you, we'll make it fun!
