"Mohamed is a fantastic teacher who tailors each lesson exactly to your specific requirements, and integrates video/documents seamlessly. He provides full notes in english and arabic covering vocablulary learned and any additional grammar notes at the end of each lesson.
The way he uses all the electronic tools available to him is amazing, and his methods for teaching grammar rules in particular are the clearest I have had to date."

"Aaron is the third Arabic teacher I've worked and is definitely the best in all respects.

He is very organized and efficient and pleasant to learn from. I've developed much better and structured habits in how I approach my grammar and understanding of Arabic- he made it feel so easy. He challenges me just enough so that I can learn where I need to grow.

Great at teaching at any level.

Highly recommended!"

"Amani taught me Arabic whilst I was living in Jordan. I had already lived in Palestine for about a year and a half and learned very little Arabic, but with Amani as my teacher I suddenly improved a lot. She was very thorough and very flexible - using the approach that suited me - I was really keen to have things to listen to in between sessions so we found Arabic music together that I liked and translated it and she gave me the link to an Arabic radio show. This was on top of the more formal studying we did in the lessons.
And I guess another thing that made her a great teacher is that she is lovely and very funny and I just enjoyed spending time with her - which made it feel less like studying and more like just having a good conversation with a friend. I would recommend her to anyone!"

Learn Arabic in Chicago

Arabic is the fifth most commonly spoken language in the world and is the official language of 26 countries across the Middle East and North Africa. Each nation speaks its own dialect, while reading and writing in Modern Standard Arabic.

Learning Arabic makes it possible to communicate with the nearly 300 million people who speak it. The language immerses you in the rich cultures of its peoples: their art, religions, music, literature, and cuisines. Plus, our tutors in Chicago can help you achieve your Arabic learning goals with ease!

Benefits of Taking Arabic Classes in Chicago

Chicago is one of the best places in the United States to learn Arabic thanks to the city's large population of Arabic-speaking immigrants (primarily from Palestine and Jordan). Just under 13,000 people speak Arabic in Chicago, providing countless opportunities for cultural immersion and language practice.

In between Arabic classes in Chicago, you can stroll through Little Palestine to experience Middle Eastern businesses, like Palestine Bakery and The Nile Restaurant. Browse through the Al-Aqsa Supermarket and get inspired to practice cooking Middle Eastern delights in your own kitchen. You can also spend a day admiring the large collection of Islamic art held at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Learning Arabic isn't just about experiencing new cultures. It also opens doors to several professional opportunities in industries like journalism, government diplomacy, tourism, hospitality, law, healthcare, and more. Whatever your reason for learning, be sure to ask your Arabic tutor in Chicago, Illinois to tailor lessons to your specific areas of interest!

Studying with an Arabic Tutor in Chicago, Illinois

In our easy to use directory, you can access dozens of highly recommended Arabic teachers who are experienced in developing curriculum for students of all ages. Keep in mind that North Africa and the Middle East use Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in the media, professional settings, and academics, but regionally people speak drastically different dialects.

At TakeLessons, our instructors specialize in MSA and a variety of dialects. For example, if you plan to visit Egypt, Moataz A., a native Egyptian instructor can help you learn phrases to speak with the locals.

If you’ll be traveling to Middle Eastern locations like Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, or Jordan, consider contacting Carol H., who graduated from the Lebanese American University and specializes in the dialects of these particular regions.

Another excellent option is Amani A., one of our highest rated teachers. One reviewer had this to say, "Amani is very, very good. She is patient with me and understands my learning style. I think she is amazing!"

Where to Take Arabic Language Classes in Chicago

One feature of taking private language lessons is choosing a place to meet. In our directory, you'll find Arabic teachers located in and around Chicago, including Lake View, Clarendon Hills, and Lombard.

For fun, plan to have a lesson at a culturally rich location, like a Middle Eastern restaurant. Try Rumi Middle Eastern Grill or Old Jerusalem Restaurant. You can also meet at a local park, your home, or your teacher’s home - the choice is yours.

If you prefer to study remotely to avoid the commute, our directory also features several teachers who provide online lessons. With an online tutor, you can learn Arabic in Chicago from the comfort of your own home. If you choose to take classes online, we recommend scheduling them during times when your surroundings are quiet and you have a strong internet connection.

Making the Most of Arabic Lessons in Chicago
