Vir is a gifted teacher. He has taught my son guitar for more than a year. He meets my son where ever he's at in his practice, attention and interests with calm, skilled focus and intention . Vir's background as performing musician infuses his teaching with an enthusiasm and creativity of practicing his teaching. We are truly grateful for Vir.

Vir is beyond your typical vocal coach. He was a huge help on things like pitch accuracy and phrasing, but more than anything, his focus on getting me to tap into and harness my inner power has already paid huge dividends in my recordings and performances. Further, Vir is an amazing person to know and his home-studio in Berkeley is magnificent!
My Biology instruction will help you get to your goal of getting a GED, acing the class, or learning about biology in depth.
I am an expert in Biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, and life sciences.
I have a graduate degree in Molecular Biology (UC Irvine, Irvine, CA), a masters in Physical Chemistry, and a bachelors in science (India). Do you want to prevent summer slide and use your time to prep for your ACT, SAT and MCAT tests, keep your knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry and elementary math abreast? I have helped three students achieve near perfect scores in ACT in the past two years. Helped two student who were failing their class get As and Bs. So what are you waiting for?
Dr. Nupur is the best teacher ever, we feel lucky to have found her at takelessons.
Her background is impeccable and in addition, she is a teacher who cares. She cared about my daughter, her progress (high school, chemistry) and well-being. My daughter's progress in less than 1 month was amazing: she went from 'we're a bit concerned for your grade' to the point she was helping others in class.
Dr. Nupur is the kind of teacher you wish your kids to have. I recommend her highly.

FIVE STARS: My experience with Nupur was awesome. She was kind, knowledgeable, punctual and flexible in her scheduling. She was also willing to work evenings and Saturdays in order to meet my challenging schedule. She was always present in mind and spirit. I am very happy to have found her.
I'm an educated and trained Expert in Forensics which require a solid knowledge in biology and anatomy. I have performed work in Europe and America in crime scene processing, chemistry and biology laboratories among others. I volunteered to work with Museum of Natural Sciences in Bucharest, Romania, which involved research, presentation, and preservation of various biological (organic) samples.
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).
I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.
I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.
I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.
I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.
I can make a hard or boring subject easy and enjoyable to learn. My priority is student success - I work to make it happen. My ability comes from extensive experience, a history of student success, and personal achievement in the subject.
Having trouble with a subject? Whether you want to work on improving your grade or aiming for your next 4.0, I'm here to help. From simple to complex, we'll work on it in a way that makes sense to you and allows you to be successful in your class.

Dr George Ilodi is an astute instructor, with impeccable character and overwhelming approach in delivering his lectures. Dexterity and holistic reviews of courses taught during the semester is second to none. His class was fantastic and the exams were well made and portioned appropriately. Although his can be funny and strict, he is also vastly knowledgeable, and willing to help students. The class material splendid and made the class enjoyable overall. I would strongly recommend him to any other student.”
Hello! I am an incoming junior at Harvey Mudd College. I am majoring in mathematical and computational biology. Biology has been one of my favorite subjects since middle school. I have taken general biology, AP biology, molecular genetics, computational biology, and mathematical biology. I have been tutoring students (ranging from elementary school to high school) in various subjects for 6 years now. I have a lot of experience working with students with different learning styles. I love studying the sciences and I’d love to help students understand the concepts instead of memorizing them.
Hi there! I am majoring in mathematical and computational biology at Harvey Mudd College. I love studying the sciences because it's exciting to learn how things work and to logic things out. I love working with others - I have been tutoring students (ranging from elementary school to high school) on various school subjects for about 6 years now.
Music is another huge part of my life: I have been playing the piano for 14 years and the violin for 8 years now. I am currently a violinist in the Pomona College Orchestra. In 2014, I was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall after my participation in the American Fine Arts Festival. In high school, I placed either first or second on solo, duet, and ensemble competitions in various competitions held at places such as Diamond Bar High School and Chapman University. Through these activities, I prac
ticed on persistence and patience. Teaching experience wise, I have taught piano for 3 years before.
Additionally, I enjoy actively participating in my community. In high school, I was really involved in the American Red Cross and Key Club. In college, I am still finding joy in volunteering in different organizations on campus. I also enjoy other activities such as reading, meditation, theater, tennis, rock climbing, and ballroom.
I work with people according to their personality and the way that they learn best. If I were given the opportunity to tutor your student, I would make sure everything is clearly explained because I hate memorizing.
Sophia worked with my daughter during her Junior year of high school. My daughter was really struggling to understand the material and Sophia was a huge help. Sophia broke the lessons down and was able to instruct my daughter in a way that she could comprehend. Her grade improved by one letter which was wonderful. We truly appreciated Sophia's help.
I’ve never felt a religious sort of love more often than when I’m studying molecular biology, both because of its incredible complexity and its promise of discovery. Life has a kind of chaotic silliness that I’m charmed by: incongruities, inefficiencies, and imperfections that remind us of ourselves. I'm passionate about the biochemical sciences and I'd love to help you through your questions and be a conduit on your path of discovery. (I'm also fresh out of the AP Biology curriculum, so if you have any questions, now's the time to ask!)
I'm a student biologist, chemist, writer, violist, violinist, pianist, guitarist, and music arranger (not usually at the same time). I primarily play viola in symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles; occasionally I'll jump to violin in pit orchestra productions for musicals. I'm currently pursuing a major in Molecular Biology and a minor in Music. I've had an effusive passion for learning and an ineffable desire to share it with others for as long as I can remember. I hope to go into science education after graduate school, while still maintaining my strong ties to the music programs I'm fortunate to be around.
Experience: - Youth Music Monterey Honors Orchestra, principal violist (2017-2019) - Carmel High School Orchestra, principal violist (
2016-2019) - Carmel High School Pit Orchestra, violinist (2018-2019) - Sandpiper String Quartet/Trio, violist (2018) - Youth Music Monterey Orchestras, volunteer violist (2018-present)
Honors and Awards: - Carmel High School Orchestra Most Inspirational, Outstanding Achievement (2019) - Youth Music Monterey Pam and Chuck McGowin Award for Outstanding Contributions (2019) - Central Coast Section Honors Orchestra (2018, 2019) - California Orchestra Directors' Association Honors Orchestra (2017, 2018)
Recently, I was named Most Inspirational and given an Outstanding Achievement award for my work in my school's music program. I was incredibly lucky to be able to arrange and orchestrate 'Ripple' for the string orchestra, in honor of a late teacher. For the same teacher, I later arranged five more campy 70s tunes--among which were Mr. Blue Sky and September--for a benefit concert that I helped lead.
I'm unfortunately unable to give advice to advanced students, since I'm always learning myself. However, if you're just starting out on the viola or violin, I'd love to teach you using what I've learned! The memories of my own journey are fresh for me, and I know it can sometimes be discouraging or aimless. My goal is to guide you towards the blinding light at the end of the tunnel and to help you out of whatever plateau you're in, whether you're in a transition period to a higher-level orchestra or if you don't know where to start putting your fingers.
