I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.

I need to improve my spoken German for business and Marcel has been invaluable in helping me improve at a good pace while being incredibly flexible on lesson planning.

I've been working with him for about a month now and I've grown to feel more comfortable speaking with my colleagues who are native German speakers.

If you want a native, professional teacher who can be fun...Marcel is your guy.

Lessons would be individualized to focus on areas that need the most guidance.

About Melissa
I have been teaching since 2006 on a variety of topics. I graduated with an BA from the University of Wisconsin. My degree is in History with and emphasis on East Asian history.

I've taught all age groups from age 2 up to retirees. My teaching experience includes one-on-one and group classes in a variety of settings. I've taught corporate classes, private lessons, small groups, and traditional classroom lessons.

We have a student-centric philosophy of learning. Lessons are generally relaxed and designed to work towards accomplishing student determined goals. While all students will study similar fundamentals regarding technique, theory, and performance, every lesson is as different as every person. Special focus on topics like music theory, self-accompaniment, composition, song writing, and home recording are available as well.

What are your personal goals? We'll tell you what you need to do to get there, and help you take the steps to achieve your aspirations.

Lessons with small children are more focused on just having fun while developing a good musical foundation, but we prefer for them to have as much personal ownership of their lesson as possible.

Experienced teacher in ESL, English, writing & comprehension, essay composition, and creative writing. Available to teach students of all experience levels and ages.

My ultimate goal will be to prepare you for the exciting journey of becoming a lifelong learner and where that knowledge will take you!

Lessons are ALWAYS structured to be engaging and impactful for my students.

After getting to know the student and their learning goals, I will tailor their learning benchmarks to be comfortably achieved for the student in a meaningful way.

I love working with students from all walks of life and can't wait to hear your story as well!

About Rachel
Rachel has taught private lessons since 2014 and is currently available to teach at your home, local coffee shops and libraries, as well as online. She has successfully helped ESL students learn English by customizing learning activities that are engaging, and stimulate student growth with ease, comfort, and fun.

She has taught for Denver Public School District as a Guest Teacher and volunteered with nonprofit groups as Reading Partners - in which she successfully helped struggling elementary students get on-track with their corresponding reading levels - and working as a camp counselor for underprivileged youth.

No matter what, Rachel always looks forward to helping students achieve their educational goals and objectives. Her teaching style consists of patience, dedication, and discipline.

Actively listening to her student's n
eeds is also an integral component to Rachel's teaching philosophy. Discovering what one student might need from a learning environment could be the polar opposite of the next student might require. (It's not to say that one is necessarily better or worse; it's more like although there are two different roads that a person could choose to take, both will nevertheless take you to your destination).

Listening closely to her students also helps with adapting and designing lessons to not only reflect individual learning styles and preferences, but to also set students up for achieving success and fulfilling their potential.

Rachel received her Bachelors in Communication from Northern Arizona University in 2008 and concluded her radio broadcast internship as Website Entertainment Editor upon graduating.

She went on to University of Phoenix, where she led communication endeavors as a project consultant for a knowledge base renovation and has since been tutoring and teaching for public and private education.

With a degree in English Literature, reading comprehension has been the most important aspect of my academic carreer. I know how to help you confidently navigate and come to a more complete and nuanced understanding of what you are reading, the main morals, motifs, and main purpose of each piece you read.

Our focus will of course be on coming to a complete and correct understanding of exactly what you are reading. Depending on the level you are at, our sessions will eventually inspire you to develop your own bold and unique opinions on everything that you read going forward.

About Nick
My name is Nick and I have been tutoring in writing since I was in high school. I love to work with students from grade school to grad school and help to make lasting adjustments that improve writing over the long term.

I became a Writing Consultant at St. John's University where I worked with hundreds of students during every stage in the writing process. From brainstorming topics to write about, all the way down to making sure references have been correctly annotated, I covered it all. I can help you with any and every stage of the writing process that is giving you trouble and ensure that you are more equipped with strategies to help avoid any familiar difficulties going forward.

The experience I have in teaching writing coupled with a positive attitude and personality make for a pleasant and productive tutoring session that will
alleviate the stress of your assignment, course, or subject matter and leave you feeling more confident in yourself and your ability to complete similar work in the future.

I genuinely want to and enjoy helping you become better and accomplish what you need to. I am excited to help out and hope to hear from you soon!

Nick is a wonderful teacher, he is knowledgeable and perceptive. I first came to Nick for help on my essay for my college application. He was able to help me narrow down the options of topics to write about so that I could confidently write about a topic I am passionate about. He continued to help me outline and structure the paper so that it would be organized and academically acceptable, and finally, he helped with editing so that the final copy was ready. A few months later I received my letter of acceptance.
After helping with my college application essay, Nick continued tutoring me through my semester at Community College. he taught me how to do a close reading, to arrange paragraphs, and to better phrase my ideas. He offered new ways to strengthen my writing. Nick is so patient and full of encouragement, I could not have made it through the semester without him.

Nick is very patient and knowledgeable. He has helped me reconstruct many paragraphs in essays/college papers that I had to write. He has a keen eye and sees all the little mistakes and ways things could be rewritten to convey point. He has looked over several of my papers and edited them, and also helped me to learn to write better- not just fixing the problem for me. I have watched my grades go from C's to A's over time, he's great !

I've helped students who were below grade level achieve their grade level in reading comprehension. I identify the needs of learners and adapt course content and delivery style to meet the students needs. I prefer to use Expeditionary Learning which involves "learning by doing" and participating in a hands-on experience. Communicate with parent, teachers regarding students' progress.

I like to use hands on learning. By 'doing' helps them to gain a better understanding of the material.
