Using both a phonics and whole word approach, I emphasize letter sound and high-frequency word recognition. Some students hesitate to read out loud out of fear of making mistakes. However, by creating a comfortable atmosphere, I enable a student to learn easily in a supportive environment as we explore interesting passages of all types, including creative fictional, history-based, science-based, and contemporary.

About Jennifer

Good day. I very much enjoy tutoring students online and in person and have been tutoring students of all ages since 2011 and have provided more than 8,000 lessons. As a former forensic chemist for the Drug Enforcement Administration and a small-group water-testing laboratory supervisor for the US

The teacher is very nice to the student, helps the student in different ways, and explains problem so the student understands their mistake.
Charley
Meagan is very flexible and is a great teacher. She doesn't make the student feel self-conscious about answering wrong, She gently asks the student to explain how they came up with the answer and allows them to correct themselves. If the student doesn't realize their error during the explanation, she explains to the student wherein the equation they made an error. She also repeats the problem areas with the student until they have a full understanding of the process.

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment.

I have been a Substitute Teacher for the Charles County Public Schools since September 2018. I started working with Grade 1and 2. During the second half of the year, I began to substitute for the 3's, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1. It wasn't until the second half of the year, I started to enjoy helping children one on one in the Special Education Program. This is where I could concentrate on one or a small group of students who needed extra help with their classwork. I specialize in Reading, Reading Comprehensive, and Writing up to Grades 2. My students have told me that I am patience, I make learning fun, and I am very creative teaching the children at their learning pace.

About Tara

Hello New Student, My name is Tara. I am a Drawing and Painting Arts and Arts and Crafts instructor located in Waldorf MD. I teach drawing and painting for ages (4 to Adults) in Charles County and Prince Georges County Maryland. I am also a Substitute Teacher for the Charles County Public Schoo

Experienced teacher of 10 years offering online reading lessons for K-8th grade students. I make online lessons fun for students and adjust them to your child's attention span. As a K-8 teacher and mother of 3 school-aged children, I have lots of patience and experience helping students reach their goals and keep up with their current grade-level work. I have special education certification and am experienced with tutoring/teaching students with disabilities as well. I know that many students have been out of the classroom, so I offer online placement assessments to pick up where your child has left off. I meet students at their level by starting with a pre-assessment in reading. I will then create personalized reading lessons to move students forward. During our lessons I monitor their progress and provide feedback in order to motivate them. I can help students keep up in their grade or get ahead depending on their goals. Send me a message and we can begin our journey!

He pinpoints a lot of small things, that overall help tremendously. He has a great ear and picks up on little subtleties in your voice that you can improve, and this causes you to hold yourself accountable to the same standards as a result. Overall, after just one lesson, i have learned a lot and am eager to continue learning with Adam.

"My students and I have had the opportunity to work with Stacey at the school building level and online. Stacey's reading intervention strategies have helped students improve their reading levels by 1.5 to 2 years throughout a six month timeframe. Stacey's instructional practices are rooted in research from experts in teaching reading and writing, such as Lucy Calkins. I would recommend utilizing the different reading and writing strategies that Stacey can implement for small groups and individualized tutoring."
