안녕하세요! Love kPOP or kDrama?! Learn the language and no more subtitles! Using TakeLessons or any kind of online-tutoring companies is new to me - but I am extremely confident to say that my teaching experiences will be able to provide great learning experience based on customized materials prepared by myself. I'm currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant pursuing MS in Economics at FAU. I am originally from Seoul, South Korea and I've been in the states for the past ten year since I started studying here as an exchange student. I am very outgoing and personable - don't worry if you are a shy person! I am always happy to listen to students' needs and wants. I am very passionate about teaching and helping others - as one once said "To Teach in To Change One's Live Forever", every lesson for every student means a lot to me. Thus I hold gre
I really like how he wanted to get to know the type of person I am and what I already know. We learned about each other aswell.

My first lesson with Jeehoon was great. He's a very engaging instructor that made the lesson enjoyable with much laughter. I feel like his teaching style will help me to grasp Korean better than I have with other teachers thus far. I am very hopeful to progress towards my goals quicker and more efficiently.

As an educator I have high expectations. I have tried two other tutors in the hopes of finding a tutor that would fit me. While the other tutors were very polite and comfortable to work with, Jeehoon exceeded my expectations. Jeehoon was prompt, organized, knowledgeable, and very comfortable to work with. He also has a great personality and sense of humor which helps to relax the student fostering a learning environment. I learned the most with him in one lesson than the other two lessons from my other tutors combined. If you truly want to learn Korean Language in a thorough manner, this is the tutor to work with. I am excited and look forward to my future sessions with Jeehoon.
Hello Korean lovers!! Do you want to learn Korean with a CERTIFIED and EXPERIENCED Korean teacher? I have been teaching for 30 YEARS including K-8 and COLLEGE as well as private tutoring in Korea, China and India. I am a student-centered, patient and dedicated teacher with teaching certificates from the Ministry of Education in Korea. My students have always been happy with my teaching because I always focus on students’ interests in what they are learning. I graduated from the graduate school of Seoul National University, the best university in Korea. Please check my profile and judge whether I can be your Korean teacher. I know everything Korean!! Let me share it with you!
Dear Prospective Students,
I know how to teach you the Korean language EFFECTIVELY and QUICKLY.
I’m a CERTIFIED teacher with 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE, from elementary school to college. I have had many international teaching experiences and live with a multilingual family. I also completed the Program for Training Korean Language Instructors for Foreigners. This means I am aware of what the most difficult problems are when students learn Korean and I can provide the most simple and effective ways to acquire the language quickly.
I am confident that I can teach you authentic Korean at ANY LEVEL.
I finished my academic history as far as the phd (I never finished my dissertation, alas). I received my Masters degree and completed all of my post graduate work at Seoul National University, which a point of particular pride with me; a
fter all, Seoul National University is the Harvard of Korea. I have a number of published works in my academic association's annual journal. And I have a Certification in Reading and Essay Instruction.
I also know KOREAN VALUES and CULTURE inside and out.
I was born in Korea and spent most time of my life there in a traditional family. I have a deep understanding of Korea and its history and life style which I could share with you. If you want to learn how to cook Korean food such as kimchi, seaweed rolls(sushi) or jabchea(noodles), of course, I can teach you! I’m a housewife, too!!
I can give you ADVICE about getting GOOD JOBS in Korea.
I taught in Korean public schools as a homeroom teacher, art teacher and English teacher. Most of my responsibilities as an English teacher were executed with native English teachers. As you know, there are many qualified English speakers in Korea who want to be full time English teachers. I worked with teachers from EPIK(English Program In Korea), TaLK(Teach and Learn in Korea) and even Fulbright scholars. Native English teachers and I worked together very well; indeed, I won an award, due, if I may say so, to my organizational pedagogical contribution. I interviewed prospective teachers, taught them how to teach and prepare classes, how to get along with students and other colleagues, housing matters, and so forth. (In addition, I can give you advice on how to apply to a Korean University and handle an interview as my husband taught for many years in Korean Universities.)
I am a certified and experienced teacher who can help you with your ambitions and needs with Korean. Let’s have fun while improving your Korean Language ability on Skype, at my home, or at your place at your convenience! I’m totally ready to work with you.
Let's get together!! See you then!!
****** I would like to post answers to questions that my prospective students usually put to me about my Korean lessons.
Q: Are you good with VISUAL LEARNERS and VERBAL LEARNERS ?
A: Yes, I'm good at that. I'm a trained teacher of Korean with more than 30 years experience.
I would like to say my teaching style varies depending on the learner's condition: age, learning style, present level in Korean, purpose of getting lesson, etc. What I usually do is use visual materials, songs and even physical gestures for children, since they have not fully developed their logical reasoning and use of abstractions. I also introduce online Korean practice programs. I also use these with adult learners who are totally beginners. Generally speaking, visual, audio and TPR approaches are more effective for beginners.
I give learners lots of chances to express what they are learning. I always link their Korean knowledge between what they learned and what they are learning. I give homework as much as they can handle, too. Regarding writing, we can share simple words or sentences on the Skype and the more you are advanced the more things we can do. One of my advanced learners is writing a diary and proofreads with me when we start every class.
Q: WHERE DO YOUR LESSONS START AT? Do they start with learning how to put the vowels and consonants together or just starting off with words you need to know?
A: Again, mine are individualized lessons. One of my students wants to just learn how to communicate verbally in Korean. It means he doesn’t care about written Korean. If the learner already knows the Korean alphabet and knows how Korean syllables are structured then I don’t need to repeat it. I don’t prolong the process or time without reason. Other than that, I start from vowels and consonants and how to combine them, and how to make sounds, and read, etc.
Q: Do you teach how to properly READ KOREAN?
A; I teach learners how to read Korean and let them read it and correct their mistakes. My pronunciation is very clear. Prior to my more than 20 years teaching history, I had worked for a Korean public TV station, KBS, as a reporter.
Q: Do you teach FORMAL and INFORMAL KOREAN because I know there is a difference between them.
A: Yes, I teach formal and informal Korean both, in addition to the Korean basic sentence structure. Of course, if you want to learn specific form only then I can do it for you. As I said, it’s all up to you.
Q: How do I PAY for the lessons?
A: All of the administrative work happens through takelessons.com except the actual class. It means you have to pay to takelessons.com. You can find how to do this on "How it Works" on the main page of takelessons.com homepage (https://takelessons.com/students/how-it-works).
Q: WHERE the lessons occur?
A: My lessons have four possible venues.
1. At your place (presently not available): To know my travel area, pleace check "Select a location" on the top right of this my profile page( https://takelessons.com/profile/youngju-s1?online) in the box.
2. At teacher's place(presently not available): If you live in Baltimore and can come to my place then you can take face-to-face lessons. That is a choice too.
3. Online: Online lessons are conducted through live 1-on-1 video chats using my personal meeting room.
4. Online TakeLessons Classroom: I also teach online group classes.
Q: When the lessons are AVAILABLE?
A: You can find my availability at "View availability" on the top right of this profile page( https://takelessons.com/profile/youngju-s1?online) in the box. Once a schedule is set, the classes occur according to it. You can reschedule whenever you need to, just for a short time or longer as long as both sides are available.
Q: Is there some way we can schedule a "TRIAL" session with you?
A: Actually, I handle all requests through takelessons.com's direct messaging system until students are officially on my roster. You and I will receive all our contact info once you book lessons and we can communicate directly then. Sorry, this means there can be no trial session short of five lessons, which is the minimum they allow. But trust that 100% SATISFACTION is GUARANTEED!! :-)
I hope that I gave you the answers what you are looking for. If you have more questions then never hesitate to ask. I welcome questions from learners!!
I want to take the opportunity to say that my Korean teacher, Youngju Lee, has been an amazing teacher for me this past year. I was altogether without any ability to speak or write the Korean language at the beginning, not one syllable could I understand, but there I was, engaged to a Korean girl whose parents were quite conservative. I had to set them at ease and show them I welcomed Korean language and culture into my life. Ms. Lee started me with the basics, the written alphabet, the vowel and consonant pronunciations. She was always clear and patient and her lessons were well paced to my achievement; it was a well conceived plan, each lesson leading into the next and there is always a sense of accomplishment as each lesson was integrated into the previous. Since Ms. Lee is a highly educated native of Korea, she knew everything, all the intimate details about greetings and levels of respect in Korean culture. My meeting with my wife's parents was a success, and they were very pleased by how well I understood the Korean side of things. I remember at dinner handing the kimchi bowl to my father in law I remembered: two hands, not one! My bows were well rehearsed as well. We had a great time together and I owe it to Ms. Lee's teaching. I have enjoyed our time together and will continue to do so in the future. Thank You, Ms. Lee!

If you are traveling to Korea, visiting, working, studying, or just interested in the language, Korean, I can help you talk to native Koreans. I've lived in Korea for 25 years and wanted to be a Korean teacher. While I was in college, I did volunteer work helping foreigners that lived there learn Korean. I also helped my husband study Korean during the time he was stationed there in the Army. I taught them many things including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and speaking formalities. Before all the above, the very first thing you need to do is studying the Korean alphabet, Hangeul. Knowing the alphabet, Hangeul will enable you to read every single word and sentences with no problem. As an English learner, I do understand difficulties learning a foreign language.
I like helping other people, learning things, and teaching others my
knowledge. I love languages and especially my native, The Korean language. That’s the reason why I’ve tutored students in Korean till now, and I’m so happy to be a helper for those who are interested in my country or Korean language. I’m eager to try different ways to teach not to be stuck with the same teaching-learning method. Also, I prefer studying a language using real-life examples to that only from books. I look for sources for Korean learning in real life to teach students real Korean in fun ways. Lesson materials are provided, but you can also share your book or things you want to learn in the lesson. Lessons are taught with the provided lesson materials, but your needs can be treated in the lesson as well. I want to be a teacher who is sometimes like a friend! It’s okay to text me when you have any questions related to Korean outside your lesson time. You may need a partner to work on your conversation skills, maybe preparing for working or study abroad, or just interested in learning a new language. I’ve coached students to achieve all the above. Whether young or old, man or woman, you are welcome if you have a willingness to learn the language, so let me know. I’ll do my best to teach you Korean till you achieve your goals. Let's get started!
My video introduction is available! Please check. ***************************************** Let's learn Korean together and have a great time! I have many ways I like to teach but ultimately my lesson plans are totally dependent on what YOU want. So, please let me know your goal.

Hello, my name is Leann.
When I was 5 years old, I started my piano training in classical and jazz piano.
I studied Jazz and Pop Piano at the Post Modern Music Dept. at the very famous Kyung Hee University (in South Korea). This is the same school that produced pop stars like Rain, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Primary, Big Bang’s GD and Daesung, TVXQ’s Yunho and Yoochon to name a few. Since I was in College, I’ve been teaching pop and jazz piano to a variety of students, from beginner to the experienced, at all age levels. I understand every student is not the same, so I make it a priority to adapt my teaching style to match a person’s learning style to maximize the learning session.
While providing lessons to a variety of students, I joined multiple bands and jazz groups playing various genres such as, alternative rock, hip-hop, p
op, and fusion. In these groups, I played piano concerts, played for various video projects, and also multiple studio recordings.
After I graduated with my Bachelors, I wanted to develop my music knowledge as a jazz composer. Therefore, I prepared and studied hard, and was admitted to the very competitive University of Miami Studio Jazz Writing program which is top 3 in nation for music programs. Since then, I’ve made Miami my home. In addition to playing music, I have been teaching Korean to UM students in their Direct Independent Language Studies program.
In Miami, my music creativity has grown and I have met amazing musicians. From 2011 to the present, I have arranged, composed, and continue to perform in various fields.
I believe my various experiences will help me teach you to learn the piano in any style you choose. Doesn’t matter who you are, what your experiences are, I will guide you to learn the piano, whether it be for professional reasons or recreationally.
Cho Hyojung was very positive and encouraging. We had fun while learning and I look forward to the next lesson.

. Korean is awesome and I'm looking forward to learn more from Youngju."
"My 14 year old daughter absolutely loves Ms. Youngju! She is so friendly and encouraging. I am very impressed with her savviness and ability to teach vi
a the online medium. My daughter is learning more in 1/2 hr a week of Korean than she is learning in her french language class at school. I'm thrilled that my daughter is so engaged in learning a language, we feel very lucky to have found Youngju!"

"Hello, I have worked at Kodaikanal International School in India for three years. KIS received the #1 school award by Educational World in India in 2013.
It’s a co-ed residential school with beautiful surroundings on a high mountain. It was my honor to have my teaching history there with my terrific students and professional colleagues. I would like to share my recommendation from my principal here. You can find the original copy in my photos:
9 May 2012 To Whom It May Concern It gives me great pleasure to write this recommendation on behalf of Youngju Lee. Youngju has taught Korean language and Arts at Kodaikanal International School since July 2009.
Kodaikanal International School is an international school located in Tamil nadu India in South India since 1901, making it one of the oldest schools in the country. It was originally a school for American missionaries. It has been an international school since 1974 and currently has a student body representing some 30 nationalities drawn primarily from within India but also in lesser numbers from various geographical regions that include countries located in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas. KIS has also been a preferred choice of families of Indian origin settled abroad when they have wanted their children to have exposure to India and Indian culture because of its multicultural approach and the diversity of the staff and student body.
Youngju is an excellent teacher and I have enormous respect for her work in the classroom. She works well with students, is positive influence with the students and is able to encourage them to achieve their best. She uses a variety of approaches in her classes from group and individual work. She establishes a good relationship with her students, explains things carefully, prepares well and has a very effective yet relaxed delivery style. She has a positive rapport with her students and they demonstrate mutual respect and they enjoy learning. Students feel well supported in her class and enjoy her classes. She also cares for her students outside of the classroom and follows up on any concerns she or others may have of an individual.
Youngju has played an active role in extracurricular activities through her participation as chaperone on field trips, organizing events and student activities.
Youngju and her husband Stephen have settled well into the broader community in Kodaikanal and enjoy their life here with their family very much. In conclusion, I believe Youngju would make a good contribution to any school community. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about Youngju Lee. I recommend her wholeheartedly as an exceptional teacher and wish her well. If more job specific information is required please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or on my mobile #----------.
