Besides being a Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry and a previous chemistry TA, I tutored Chem 1 students long before I went to grad school. I was actually a physics major then. Turns out that most of Chem 1 is actually quantum chemistry, a subject that is studied in depth in physics, is typically introduced to chemistry majors for the first time without any previous exposure. This leaves many Chem 1 students struggling to understand the subject matter and why it is important. For the entire foundation of chemistry lies on top of quantum mechanics. Although technically you could pass your organics classes and analytical classes without ever understanding quantum mechanics, but you're missing out on the fundamental concepts. And if you ever go further into chemistry, not understand the basics will hamper you from going into chemistry. Besides, you don't really need to know all the details of quantum mechanics, unless you go into physical or inorganic chemistry. Most biochem and ...

I'm a Ph. D chemist trained in a prestigious US university, for more than 15 years teaching and tutoring in high school sciences/chemistry, college chemistry courses. Through one-on-one tutoring, the subjects will be presented in a way that caught interest, clarified difficult topics and led student(s) through complex areas, and put knowledge into context so that its relevance was apparent. The most important element of my tutoring is to encourage reasoned thinking and rational problem solving.

Chemistry is the scientific study of matter and the patterns and key events explored, associated, and observed with all states of matter.
Chemistry I, most commonly known as General Chemistry I, goes through the basics of chemistry, the states of matter, the table of elements, and several equations to calculate reactions, changes in states of matter, mass, volume, and physical features.
General chemistry II gives you the opportunity to learn more about the flow of matter, some of the laws that govern matter, and chemical phenomena such as radiation and electrochemistry.
Then, this author’s favorite, Organic Chemistry helps to strengthen, broaden, and confirm your insights on how life most likely began from the simplest molecules to the most complex and selective compounds known.

Her background is impeccable and in addition, she is a teacher who cares. She cared about my daughter, her progress (high school, chemistry) and well-being. My daughter's progress in less than 1 month was amazing: she went from 'we're a bit concerned for your grade' to the point she was helping others in class.
Dr. Nupur is the kind of teacher you wish your kids to have. I recommend her highly."
