Medical Student: Here to Help You ACE Chemistry

Experienced tutor who scored 97 percentile on MCAT Chemistry. Looking to teach all levels of chemistry, from middle school to college. Every lesson will be fully prepared in advance. I have students send all their questions ahead of time so that I can prepare highly detailed explanations and make lessons efficient. I also provide lesson reviews at the very end so that students can go back over material that was covered in the lesson. I also prepare slide decks if necessary to help students visualize difficult concepts.

Hello! My name is Curtis, and I am a rising medical student at a top-20 university. I graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a 3.99 GPA and a 97th percentile MCAT. I am very passionate about teaching MCAT/AP Chemistry and Biology and helping boost student grades and test scores. As someone who scored a 3 on the AP Chemistry exam, I can really relate to students who struggle in the sciences. What's worse is that it can kill your confidence, especially if you want to go into competitive fields, such as the healthcare profession. However, after meeting a lot of professors and mentors who helped me at UCLA, I was able to achieve perfect marks in biology and chemistry AND get a 97th percentile on the MCAT science sections. I realized that it is not the subject that is hard to understand - it is the lack of guidance. If you are feeling stuck, you are not alone. I like to teach students with simple analogies to help them grasp the hardest concepts. I tutor students in middle school all the way up to college - I really understand how to tailor my communication to fit your needs. I look forward to meeting you and seeing how I can help you improve your grades and future career aspirations!

We are thrilled to have found Curtis to tutor my teenage son in chemistry. He is incredibly smart and an excellent teacher while at the same time relatable and patient. He's also thoughtful, kind, and a pleasure to have around. We feel fortunate to have found Curtis and plan to have my son work with him regularly to prepare for his AP exam. Highly recommended!!

I'm currently taking introductory chemistry in college and it has been a bumpy road. thanks to Curtis' help he was able to clear up some doubts and questions I had for my upcoming exam. he explains concepts in simple ways to help you understand the material, is very thorough with explanations, and patient if you don't understand and is willing to repeat it and guide you through it until you understand it fully.
