I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the University of Redlands in 2011 (which I attended on a music talent scholarship), and am now an active performer in Los Angeles, CA. I have been tutoring and teaching privat

I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Tales of Hoffmann, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, and I could never live without it!
With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having FUN doing it!

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from St. Norbert College, and I am currently studying for a PhD in statistics at University of California, Irvine. My goal is to encourage students to enjoy STEM subjects, especially mathematical sciences because they are such a beautiful way to understand the world. Math is so much more than algebra and geometry, and, if it is truly understood, even those subjects can be illuminating in how we understand the world.
I am a Ph.D. student in Statistics and earned a Bachelor's in mathematics from St. Norbert College in 2016. I have been tutoring for over 10 years now, starting with a my work as a Program Staff at the local Boy's and Girl's Club. Now I just enjoy working with students one-on-one and in small groups.

I am a professional working artist and I am also a site coordinator for an Expanded Learning program here in Riverside. I obtained a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley where I specialized in multimedia installations that included large scale paintings, sculptures, and original music/audio. Due to the versatility in my own work from large to very small scale paintings I have acquired techniques and skills for every scale in between. I am a strong believer in self expression and visual literacy which gets stronger with the formulation of concepts one builds through inspiration for each painting. The first lesson went very well with my daughter. Belinda was methodical in her teaching and approached the lesson with my daughter’s interest in mind. During the lesson, Belinda was able to actively engage my daughter the whole time, and more importantly, her teaching revived my daughter’s interest in drawing. She has already devised future plans to have my daughter practice sketching noses, eyes, and ears so that my daughter may draw the human face later with more realistic details.
I want to help students gain understanding into the problems they solve: I do not want to teach them simply how to solve problems, but more fundamentally why problems can be solved in particular ways. In doing so, I want to enable students to become true problem solvers who think logically and creatively.
I am trained in philosophy (B.A., University of North Texas, and M.A., Biola University) and have been teaching/tutoring for over five years in math, reading, writing, SAT/ACT, and critical thinking/problem solving. I have taught a wide range of ages, from elementary to graduate students, and in classrooms of 100+ students to one-on-one lessons. Ultimately, I love to learn and teach, and I have a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
