I have tutored students in a variety of math courses, going from basic Algebra up to Calculus 3. With a good foundation, any topic is manageable. Homework is key and my students have to complete it before our lesson. Before any of my lessons, I ask the student to send me an outline of the topics they would like to go over and I prepare accordingly. This way my time and their time is used efficiently.

In its basic conceptual form, Algebra is a form of Mathematics with an equation and variables. An equation is "solved" when the values on either side of the = sign are balanced, and the variables bing an equation to life!

This is a foundational subject in math, and thus important to get right. Often people think calculus is one of those math subjects that only the smart people understand, it turns out that 90% of calculus is just algebra. (plus some trig.) So if you can understand algebra, you are 90% of the way to understand calculus!
I previously tutored calculus, differential equations, etc. while in college, I feel like I should tutor algebra now and help people understand algebra better. This is mostly because almost of the students I've taught calculus to, their trouble isn't that they don't understand calculus, rather they didn't have a good algebra background. So I like to switch to teaching algebra and better prepare the student to tackle future math and science classes. (Which all of them will depend on the foundations you built back in algebra.)
About Luther
I'm a laid back kind of guy, and I'm passionate about the subjects that I teach. I've been tutoring since 2011 in college and grad school, so I do have quite a bit of tutoring and teaching experience. Perhaps more important than knowledge and passion is the ability to break down a subject so
