How to move around like a hungry for space dancer. My teachers used to tell me to Eat Up Space. We will learn how to make our own dances. Vocabulary and Improv, Dynamic, Structure and Form. Finding what it means to write a story or poem with your body's movement, the space it is inhabiting and of course, idea.

I have been teaching dance for over 12 years. My students have won many competitions and some of them even passed tough exams to enter Dance Academy programs, colleges and universities. I am very passionate about teaching dance and finding the right "key" to every student. I believe that all of us are different in the way we process new information, the way we learn, memorize, get motivated, and progress. I believe in order to get maximum result in such complex craft as dance there has to be a balance between having fun and having discipline. Each class has a set structure, short-term goals, and long-term goals, and of course, we do have fun. I love my profession, I love teaching and figuring out how to achieve the greatest result with that particular student by applying aspects of sports psychology on top of standard methods, and I love seeing my students fall in love with the craft and achieve great results.

A professional dancer myself, I strive to bring my experience and expertise into each lesson. We will begin with a physical warm up, followed by floor work and some choreography. Each lesson is crafted specifically with the student's unique goals in mind. I believe the best learning environment is a positive and supportive one, and I strive to truly help my students understand dance technique, while having a good time.

My lessons focus on connecting with your partner and being in tune with his or her movements. A proper connection makes it easy to quickly learn new steps, and to move together as naturally as possible.

For online/video lessons: You might think a partner dance would be hard to learn online; to learn to lead or follow well, it's important to have tactile feedback in order to feel the relationship between your movement and the results from your partner, and vice versa.

I am a classically trained dancer with 20 years experience in performance. I have always been passionate about historic costumes and was introduced to historic dance while getting my degree from Ga. State University. I am currently the director of the Atlanta Historic Dance Company. I've performed, taught and choreographed for performances on stage, at historic events and in the film industry for the last 10 years.
Historic Dance can run the gamut between beginning level dances up to professional level performance. I can tailor your lesson to fit your needs. The most popular lesson at the moment is the 1920's Charleston. I can also offer lessons in popular social dances from the Renaissance up through the 1960's.
