I founded my own theater company 21 years ago and have been teaching and directing actors from ages 6-80 over more than 65 productions. I am an engaging and deeply knowledgeable theater professional who will guide you to get the most out of every speech you want to speak or role you want to play. I can work with you on audition pieces for schools, college or Broadway, as well as just help round out your scene work when you're already in the middle of a rehearsal process. I have quick tips and fixes for any scenario and my approach is personal, and centered on what you want to get out of your experience and what you are bringing to the table in terms of creating a character. My specialty is Shakespeare and I can help you unravel all those imbedded text clues. Let's get started!

Diana is a skilled and knowledgeable acting teacher. She helped my shy son find his voice and become the confident young man he is today. Personally, Diana helped me as an adult to overcome stage fright. Once I told Diana of my issue, she encouraged me to join one of her productions, and she nurtured me through the whole experience. Her skillful techniques and her caring, nurturing nature is a perfect combination for an amazing acting coach.
Carol
My daughter has worked with Diana in CST for 8 years. It is truly remarkable what she does for these kids, and what she gets out of them. By providing a safe space where they can learn, question, and have fun with the material, they become comfortable performing, and sharing their gifts with the public. Not only that, but they are learning Shakespeare, which has huge effect on their understanding of literature and global history. Diana makes all this FUN for the kids. They are there because they want to be, and from the youngest to the oldest they put their all into their performances while always supporting each other.
Olga
Diana’s teaching style must be a lot of fun, because my son has been studying acting with her for more than 3 years! He is always looking forward to the next learning / practice session!

An early career teacher! Experienced with audition coaching, scene work, and Shakespeare. I primarily use the Miesner approach to acting and physicalization tools to bring out the truth in every story. I am upbeat and dedicated to working with my students at whatever level they are at, to help them achieve their potential. I believe that actors are the pioneers of the human heart, they take the deep dive for those who are not ready yet. I am the perfect teacher for both those just getting into acting to more experienced actors needing some tune up!

About Julieanna

I am a professional Actress and Stage Combatant. I have been acting for about 10 years now. I studied acting and stage combat at Texas State University. While I was there I did plenty of shows including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Mr. Burns, The Tempest, and A Dolls House. My Main focus

Constructs a safe, experimental, artistic environment where she nurtures and pushes you when needed. She is an excellent instructor in meisner repetition; being able to help the student access vulnerability in places they've never experienced. Knows and practices a copious amount of acting styles and techniques. From my experience working with her as a director/acting advisor, she is keen and eager to work on the human connection between actors, accessing emotions through extreme physicalization and stepping out of comfort zones, and experimenting with a variety of text to express various stories.

Sara is a great teacher, 5 stars plus many pluses. She can point out my problems quickly and let me practice efficiently. My accent got improved, and I recommend her to my friends who need the same help. Thank you Sara, you are my best friend too. Love you, sherry

Take lessons recommended me Sara Ann Butler because she is a great teacher. I’ve enjoyed taking lessons with her, and I am happy she has high expectations and material that was useful. I wanted to improve my speaking voice, and she was able to point out the places I could make improvements and gave me methods to improve.
To disagree with a previous review, i’ve never heard her use any anti-racist or political views. She doesn’t expect me to behave like her, and when she teaches she uses “I” and “I” is the student.
I am happy that I took vocal training from her.
Brandi
At this age , she is very hot headed. Her ego is longer than a mile. She is racist, doesnt like African-American and Asian students accent. She was making fun of ppls accents. In the begining i thought she may be trying to make a point but no. Jes thats all anger. The first, i m paying you money for this class. So just teach what you supposed to teach not your racist and politcal views. And after a few classes, I said i dont feel comfortable talking about the race religious views and the next thing she did was cancelled all my lessons without even letting me know. Now i have to restart from the begining from a new teacher and it takes a while for a new teacher to understand your accents problems. She wants her students behave like her age oh please, come on, if the student is young in her 20s or 30s you dont act or behave like her or him. They just started their lives but your almost have lived your life. She should not teach here.

"“I cannot recommend Ophelia Wolf any higher as an acting coach and stage director. I worked with her privately on staging all of my audition arias. Her genius is connecting your unique story to the character. She knows intuitively how to break down emotional/body tension to free up performance and discover your truth. She has a flexible formula for analyzing characters and making them immediately personal to you.
As a German native speaker, she prepared me for all of my audition trips to Germany. With her guidance in perfecting diction and conversational style, I gave a confident tour. I also sought out her method when giving a series of masterclasses on how to interpret characters.
We worked together right before my first audition for the Met, and I got the job! You’ll love working with this director who has experience working with the greatest opera houses in the world."

"J is awesome. The class is tailored to the student to help with what student wants to learn. What you get out the class is based on the effort you put in. I started the classes not knowing anything and just wanted to see what I could do if anything and now I am confidently going to each session looking forward to seeing how far I can take it.

Because the class is designed for the individual student, I got to work with a monologue from a video game and learn how to break down the monologue, create character for the monologue (which was a challenge and a half to distant myself from the actual character) and learn to believe that my created character is real and how I can show that with my acting. In doing I decided to use an accent, and J gave me resources and tips to find that voice.

Speaking on my experience, if you are beginning like me this is the perfect man for the job. As long as you put in the work, he will help you, guide you and push you to challenge yourself when it is needed!"

Introduction to Voice Acting: Books & Resources to Check Out

When it comes to the performing arts, voice acting attracts some of the most fiercely dedicated enthusiasts, despite the relative anonymity compared to acting on stage or on screen. In the old days, radio dramas were the most common inspiration for aspiring voice actors. Today, it’s animation. The key component of voice acting, even more than secrecy and seclusion, is versatility. An in-demand voice actor may be called upon to provide the pipes for a cartoon rabbit in a kid's show on Friday, …
