CloseI don't remember learning how to sew, that's how long I've been sewing! My mother taught sewing classes when I was little and I just picked it up from her! Since then I have taught many children how to sew! And some adults, too! It's an awesome skill. I love sharing this past time with others.

About Adenike O.
CloseHi all, I'm an experienced sewer with a degree in Textiles and Design! I've been sewing and teaching for over 20 years and love what I do.
Because I've worked with children and created lesson plans I know exactly how to teach with clarity and work according to the needs of my students.
About Adenike
My name is Adenike, you can call me Adé. I'm a trained fashion stylist and designer with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design from the University of Rhode Island.
I have taught sewing and design, to people of all ages, genders, and abilities throughout my professional career. It began in 2002 when I decided to work with the Americorps, Teach America program. There I created and executed a lesson plan that taught students how to sketch, render, sew, read patterns and adjusts garments for personal to suit their personal needs. The program incorporated science, math, and history so that they had a practical and anthropological approach to fashion design. It was great, and I discovered that one of my other joys in life is teaching.
Most recently, I've worked with Hobby Quest, where I teach children in an after schoo
It's recommended that you schedule for a minimum of 60 minutes to get the most out of your lesson.
*IMPORTANT* Potential students interested in working on projects will be asked for project details and current sewing ability.
If a student is a beginner sewer, then he or she will be required to have a complete command of fundamental sewing as well as basic machine knowledge before introduction of project. There will be no exception to that rule.
