The number one rule to Calculus is you don't talk about Calculus....
Just kidding, the actual rule is that Calculus is like Algebra and Trig with Derivatives :) and as you progress into calc 2 its with integrals, and finally in calc 3 it becomes all 3 dimensional and whatnot... That's it...
Well, it's worth considering the amount of time we spend focusing on Algebra components in our developing education, this isn't coincidental in relation to how heavy Algebra plays a role in Calculus, Trig, Statistics, and just about any mathematical application... If we consider Mathematics as a language, Algebra is the Grammar while Calculus, Trig, Stats, etc, are the subject vocabulary.
Check attached PDF document on my profile for more details :)

Sometimes calculus looks scary. It usually happens when things that we are doing are too abstract for us. I help by connecting calculus to real life and helping my students to understand why we are solving this problem this way and probably invent their own way to solve problems. It's not only helping to improve the grades but also helps with confidence.
About Marina
Hi, my name is Marina. I have a masters degree in Math and I'm from Russia. So, I could help you with both subjects:). I love to work with you on your goals and help you to achieve things that you set for yourself. I am also flexible with time and different types of math support.

I've used calculus in my career for 35 years, as a mechanical engineer and a computational physicist. I know how to solve problems from several different perspectives, so if a student is struggling with one method, I have a repertoire of other techniques to deploy. I find that students thrive when they are given solid examples of solutions and the content isn't hidden from them. I can help expand a student's advantage with computational tools such as Excel and Matlab to accelerate knowledge and deeper understanding.
About Thomas
I am a computational physicist and a business strategist with the navy, and an adjunct professor at NVCC in engineering and computer science. I've worked with some brilliant young scientists and engineers from all over the world and I'm a continuous learner. I have a Doctor of Science Degree in F

Getting ready to take the AP Calculus test? Brush up on these study tips from Olympia, WA tutor Tali H... The AP Calculus exam is rumored to be one of the harder AP tests - especially for those of us who math doesn't come easily to. The test takes three hours and 15 minutes, and has 45 multiple-choice questions and six short-answer questions. Both types have a non-calculator part and a calculator part. Even though it sounds daunting, with some determination and productive studying, …
