Hello! I am a multidisciplinary artist and NYC native looking to share my skills with anyone interested in pursuing art or fashion either personally or professionally. My skills include advanced research, design, sketching, patterning, and construction. I combine these skills with graphic design, photography, illustration, and video editing to provide a visual communicator of concept and artist identity to the viewer. I am very patient and I create a personal and in-depth approach to fashion and art development. In 2017 I received my MFA from the Fashion Design and Society Program at Parsons The New School for Design. After graduating I taught sophomore-level sewing, junior-level design, and senior-level thesis within the Parsons BFA program. I have held two independent fashion exhibitions and have dressed artists such as Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Solange Knowles, Ciara, Kelsey Lu, and more. I have been featured in TeenVogue, Paper, Fader, I-D, Document, Complex, Elle, and other ...

I have always greatly appreciated the artistic nature of arranging. Using lines, shapes, textures, and colors, we use our individual style and artistic voice to create something beautiful and unique from plants and flowers. This is the kind of approach I bring to my work: whether it is for a bouquet or vase arrangement, wedding floral proposal, terrarium, or a potted plant, the task is an opportunity to create art.

I offer patient guidance and encouragement. I see knitting as a process of growth and development- moving forward at a pace that the student is comfortable as we cultivate confidence and technique.

About Kim

I am a hoarder - most notably of yarn and can be seen knitting or crocheting in 90 degree weather. I began my craft journey as a child when i was taught Crochet by the other woman in my fathers life. I learned to knit later - but I would hone both these skills well into adulthood looking for a wa

My substantial areas of expertise are women and men patternmaking, draping, garment construction (sewing), tailoring, technical drawing, concepts sketching, from basic to advance skill set. I am also a big fan of incorporating recycled / repurposing materials such as leather, suede into garments.I encourage students to construct their own learning in an environment that stimulates and helps students to realize their full potential.

About Hasaan

I have obtained a degree in Menswear Design and Marketing from Fashion Institute of Technology and a degree in Applied Science Visual Communications from Katharine Gibbs School. I’ve taught garment construction, sketching and CAD design classes (Adobe Suite) for five years and have over 17 years o

Hasaan is a very patient teacher--which is definitely a requirement for online sewing/pattern making lessons. We worked on my bodice sloper, and he was able to quickly identify the fitting issues I had. He shares best practices, tips, and terminology all throughout the lesson so that you learn as much as possible. Will continue with him.
Lauren Stein
I had a tight time schedule to finish a summer project before I went in for surgery and Hasaan was very sensitive to that. He was able to teach me new skills in pattern making and cutting that made the process easier/ more accurate as well as sewing techniques. I would say my experience with him was very positive and he was always cheerful and and in a great mood and helped me out a lot with my project. I would definitely recommend using him for lessons.

"When things click between instructor and student learning becomes a lot easier. I went into my first lesson with an open mind, and I was not disappointed. What JP explained to me had as much to do with his choice of words as it did with the credibility of his statements. We covered a lot of basics which I already knew, but how he explained them was in terms that I hadn't thought about. This prompted me to slow down and put more effort/concentration into each shot."

"Had my first lesson today and Vena showed me many tips on how to lay out the pattern properly on the fabric and reviewed what the pattern symbols mean. I learned things I never knew and, as we went along, she gave me the reasons why things are done a certain way which is good so it'll make sense and I won't be as likely to forget them. I'm very happy and can't wait for Lesson 2."
