I was offered full rides to Yale, NYU, and UCSD and earned my MFA in Acting from UCSD in 2009. Since then, I've guest-starred and recurred on 20+ network TV shows, led several films, performed on Broadway and at the top regional theaters in the country. I've also served as an Adjunct Professor at Pace University and NYU.
Whether you're looking to learn the fundamentals of acting, sharpen your auditions pieces for BFA or MFA programs, or book more professional gigs by improving your self-tapes and in-room auditions for every medium, I will deliver for you.
I love helping actors grow as much as performing myself. Together, we will bolster your imagination and toolbox to arrive at further truth and dynamics in storytelling.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I believe the development and training of an artist is a special, sacred, and important act.

If you would like to find more truth, more humor, and more joy in your work as an actor or performing artist, then I would be privileged to help you along that journey!

As a teacher I have taught around the country at universities as a guest artist and faculty member, as well as with performing arts centers from coast to coast. As a practicing artist, I am continually researching new and updated methods and find this passion translates into my lessons with my students.

I believe in positive reinforcement and building upon a student's current skill set, rather than tearing an actor to pieces, in order to bring about the most effective results, all the while finding JOY in the work!

I have performed as an actor, singer, and musician Off-Broadway in New York, on many National tours, and at regional theatres all across the United States. I find this varied experience allows me to

One of the best teachers I have ever had! Chad creates an environment that makes you feel really comfortable with exploring yourself as an actor. Not to mention that fact that he is so kind and genuine. I know I will be forever grateful that our paths crossed!
Claudia
I have worked with probably 4 dozen acting instructors, coaches, directors in my life, and Chad is the BEST OF THE BEST.
Through several years of working with him, I can vouch that with him you always know what you get: 100% quality, all of the time. He is fully present, meets you on eye level, is kind and understanding, and encourages/motivates you to go beyond what you thought was possible.
Whether it is audition prep, Shakespeare scene work, or general acting skills, there is nobody I would trust more than Chad to help me be the best actor I can possibly be.
Most importantly, with Chad I have always felt completely safe to explore characters, inner movements, and feelings in the process.
The only bad thing I can say about Chad is that he will absolutely ruin you for the next coach or director that comes along, since no one can come even close to his quality.
Katie
Chad is incredible at making you feel very comfortable while also challenging you to go beyond what you believe you can do. In every environment that I have worked with him, he has been kind, generous and inspiring. I would recommend him to anyone (young, old, beginner, advanced) in a heart beat. It has changed my life and my career to have learned from him.

I trained at the same school as Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), Ray Fischer (Justice League), Tyne Daly (look her up, you won't be sorry) and Jason Derulo. I am well versed in dialects, American Standard, stage combat (armed and unarmed), film acting, acting for stage, classical, acting and more! Even if you just want to work on a monologue. Im happy to help! I've been a working actor both on stage and screen for almost three years now, but let's be real. We all need a side hustle. I can even help you with learning how to self-produce/promote on a budget.

"Not only is Kelsey proficient and very knowledgeable, she also has so much enthusiasm and an obvious love for teaching. She put me at ease right away and from the very beginning showed such excitement to be working with me. She comes prepared, takes the session very seriously, but also has fun with it so time flies by. I'm honored to be her student and pupil, and look forward to many more acting lessons, as she imparts her wealth of knowledge of Shakespeare and acting technique."

"As part of a summer training program, Sophia coached me on two Shakespeare monologues, and I absolutely loved working with her! She shared lots of valuable insight with me that helped me really dig into the text, personalize it, and connect with the characters on a deeper level. Her guidance helped me make lots of great discoveries in our sessions together, and I've been able to apply that guidance to lots of other pieces as well. I would work with her again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a monologue coach!"

"I`ve been taking Shakespearean acting lesson with Michael for a month now and I am very satisfied with him and his method.
Although, I have much of prior acting experience, I was quite unfamiliar with Shakespeare´s plays, lofty language and his metaphors, Michael helped me get to the essence of it very quickly.

He´s a very reliable and effective acting teacher. He`s also punctual, always arrives on time with a plan of what we are hoping to achieve in each lesson. His clear and structured method of teaching enables steady progression.
I definitely recommend him."

I now have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the lines than which I have learned in school. I would highly recommend his coachings to any actor!"

"Michael is a fantastic teacher! He helped me work on my Cleopatra among other great characters. He is focused, knowledgeable, passionate and has a profound manner in making the text accessible-current and personal. I used to have difficulty relating to a piece, the language intimidated me. Michael helped me to make the text my own, coming from my own heart. It changed how I worked on everything, both classical and modern."

Anthony is the type of teacher that knows your potential and will do everything he can to push your skills to the next level. "Chad provided excellent technique coaching in Shakespearean Acting. I had the opportunity to work with him in one on one sessions and also in a group setting. Both kinds of sessions gave me unique tools like ensable building and utilizing Shakespeare’s text along with all its double meanings. He is easily able to cater to each individual actors needs and really understands how to help break bad habits in order to allow for more growth. Along with text work, Chad provided excellent coaching in creating distinct physical shifts in the body when playing multiple characters in a show. Chad was always willing to answer any kind of questions and continued to surprise me with the ways he could shed some new light on Shakespeare’s work."
