I want you to explore what it's like to experience the unbelievable amount of satisfaction you can have by allowing yourself to study acting and music. I teach from a method base and will work on monologues, scenes and audition materials, collaborating with you on what it is you need to understand how we go about doing this thing called acting. I can work virtually. One thing you must know about me, I am really nice. I won't crush your dreams. I will, however, make sure you attain them. I can come to you or you can meet me where I teach. I am in SF and Los Angeles. I successfully work virtually with many people. If you want to act, we can make it happen.

About Kathryn
Kathryn K - I am happy to be offering acting for the camera and stage, technique, audition process, specifically audition prep, monologue work, scene study, script analysis, and sessions on working in the business. I coach in person and online. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild AFTRA and Actors Equity Association. I am committed to helping artists experience their craft in a supportive, safe and challenging environment.
My passion is to see my actors working and they do. I am most influenced by Stanislavsky and Strasberg and am a Method coach. I work extensively with non-actors on key note presentations and communication skills. I am here to help you delve into your creativity in a supportive and joyful way.
I coach Singing Performance, as well.
I am a member of Sag-Aftra and Actors Equity and BMI and have been for many years.

My students are committed to exploring their craft of acting, singing performance, songwriting and screenwriting. Many are working professionally.
They have booked roles, including but not limited to; Chance, HBO's, Thirteen Reasons Why, WestWorld, Looking, Blue Jasmine, Touching Home, Generations, productions at several Equity theatres throughout the country and countless National commercials. Most have landed agents. Many have joined SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity.
Though I am a Method Acting coach, I am open to other techniques and have personally studied them. When you study acting / singing performance w/ me you'll also learn about the business.
We work on technique, audition technique, monologues, scene work, script analysis and on camera technique. We study all aspects of acting and for singers, singing performance, in order to prepare you for where you want to be as an artist.

Auditions!!
They are definitely the most difficult and nerve wracking part of being an actor or singer, right? Booking work means your audition has to be as good as opening night.
Auditioning is about preparation and preparation takes consistent support. Look, showbiz is not a business about being alone. Artists thrive when working together. We are a collaborative bunch and collaborating to make sure you're ready and organized for your auditions makes sense.
Stop trying to muscle through this necessary step alone. No one who works consistently does that! They ask for help. ASK FOR HELP!!
Solidify your acting choices so you don't have to worry about them the day before your audition. Know your prep so you can internally drop into it when the casting director says, "Whenever you're ready."
Have your music material and performance choices prepared ahead of time.
BE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
Work with me when your agent sends you your sides so you show up READY. Know your lines. It's OK if your struggling with memorization.
Let's figure out How YOU memorize.
Let me coach you for online audition submissions.
If we are working virtually I will coach while you are taping yourself to submit your online audition. It works!
Let me collaborate with on script analysis in order for you to you understand your material before you audition.
Take your work seriously so you bring your most intelligent and inspiring work to the audition rooms.
You'll be bringing the agents, casting directors, directors, producers and writers the inspiration they crave regarding their beloved projects. Do that and you're gonna book.
I know you can work and I can't wait to make it happen with you.

Gil Gross, Host The Gil Gross Show –Radio, ABC "I have loved Kathryn's music from the day I first heard her sing, but even being a fan of her recordings did not prepare me for seeing her perform live. She inhabits a song and involves each member of the audience in its drama, joy or sorrow. There are performers for whom a performance is a night out. When Kathryn performs it’s a lifetime shared with us in a single evening. If you want to merely hear some tunes, there are many people who will do. If you want a real experience in music, there is Kathryn.

Kathryn is an amazing teacher! I've been working with her for nearly a year now. At first I was hesitant doing classes online, but I don't regret taking the leap. I've definitely improved my acting skills in the months we've been working together; she gives great feedback and really cares about her students, not ONLY in the way of their acting skills. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to get into acting. I started out knowing nothing and I can say 100% that what I know now is largely in part of Kathryn!

I found Zach through 'take lessons' after my daughter had a few years with an intense classical pianist. I want my daughter to have fun and appreciate music and not feel the intense pressure she was feeling with our previous instructor. Zach was the perfect choice. My daughter loves her lessons. Zach does take time off for his professional endevors. Good for him. He has always let us know and connected with us when he returns.

About Maria
MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of my studio is to create well-rounded, educated musicians who will always have a lifelong passion for the art no matter their long-term goals. I strive for my students to be:

(1) Lifelong learners who develop successful learning habits.
(2) Creative and critical thinkers who will become effective communicators.
(3) Responsible and respectful members of society who respect other cultures.
(4) Able to set short-term and long-term goals and be able to see them through to their success.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

It is of the utmost importance that my students are well-educated in their chosen instrument; they must know and understand music and music-making. Students who can play are a dime a dozen, but students who understand the music they are playing are often hard to find. I teach students to kno
w music thoroughly, not just to “play.” I desire my students to comprehend elements of the score, to use their bodies effectively to make good sound, and to interpret music creatively and according to historical performance practices across all genres of music. Thus, I give students a purposeful education in technique, quality literature, performance and artistry, music theory, and music history.

Although students differ in ability and development, I maintain high expectations for our students. I expect attention and respect in lessons, faithful and diligent practice, careful adherence to instructions, and an “I’ll-do-my-best” attitude. If students regularly meet these expectations, then they will excel to the level that they are able. It is my joy to help students master their music, to do the best they can, and to strive for and achieve excellence.

Lastly, I want students to enjoy and appreciate their instrument, music, and music-making; and I know as as a teacher, I am very influential in making this happen. Students develop enjoyment of music by understanding music, experiencing success in music, being exposed to good and varied genres of music, and receiving instruction from a teacher who is enthusiastic and encouraging. It is my goal to provide all of these opportunities for students, and as a result their lives will be enriched as they enjoy their instrument.

30 years of experience in theatre, television, commercials, voice overs and Indie films. I started coaching other actors in 2014, focusing on techniques for on-camera acting and film audition coaching. I have the inside scoop on how the professional acting world works and I help prepare all students for the challenges that come with the biz. One pager perk is that I am also a Casting Director for commercial, television and film projects in the Midwest. I'm always talent scouting.

About Jonna
When I moved back to Springfield, MO from LA a few years ago (Because the schools are better and my family is here), I immediately noticed a desperate need for film acting education. We have good theatre programs in town, but most of the actors weren't quite aware of how to transition that for the screen. I've been blessed to have a lot of practice and education for on-camer acting, so I decided to share what I know.

It's been a cool adventure learning how to teach, especially since I'm still a working actor. I get to take my own advice and see if works. I have primarily adult students in my weekly classes as well as private lesson students, and they have been brave enough to try many new things. We explore all of the popular techniques to find what works for us. Acting is a very special craft for strong people.

I tell all of my stude
nts, "You have to be STRONG if you want to tell the stories of the human condition." My first piece of advice to help you become a great film actor is: DON'T SHOW ME HOW YOU FEEL. JUST FEEL IT.

I love people and I'd love to work with you.

My students can expect to learn everything from the basics to Shakespeare in the Park. They can also learn verse, pronunciation, Shakespeare's structure and clues, confidence in the language, and the all embracing emotion of Shakespeare. Shakespeare can seem intimidating, but it can be far more easier and fun than we imagine. We already live Shakespeare's stories and words, and it is my job to help you play the role.

Shakespeare is my life passion and a speciality of my actor experience and training. Our time together will be able to enhance or uncover whatever you need to know about the Bard and yourself.

I have trained with The Royal Shakespeare Company, began The Bridge Production Group (An Off-Broadway Shakespearean Co.), and have performed in 6 Shakespeare, I recently finished Richard III (Fourth St. Theatre). "Owen's confidence and strength in speech made him stand out from the rest of the cast. He moved and spoke with such ease and want." (Manhattan with a Twist)

About Jake
What drives me to wake up every day, is to supply actors with a safe space to grow and learn trusted actor tools and resources. I want to foster, the lessons I've been taught and learned, and help the actor change their path and careers. I love meeting new artists, collaborating, and getting results.

I'm a producer/actor/director who combines that with my passion of being a life-coach. I attended the high ranking, UNCSA, Royal Shakespeare Company, UCB, and have private coached for 5+ years.
I know the juggling that happens with the life of an actor and have the experience and ability to help you navigate it. During my private coaching, I've had successes such as: Master of None, Hawaii 5-0, Off-Broadway Plays, Julliard, DePaul, and more. My private coaching has helped clients book roles, extend their network, find longevity and purpo
se in the acting pursuit and life.

Acting is such a broad term! What are your goals? Do you want to be in films? Do you want to do Shakespeare? Do you want to be in a sit com? Depending upon what your interests are and where you want to go, we will build a plan together. My philosophy on acting techniques is that they are tools to help you, not tests you pass if you're a good actor and fail if you're a bad one. Different techniques work for different people and it is our job to find out what inspires you.

I've worked as a professional actor for many years, performed on Broadway, have my MFA in Performing Arts, and my BA in Arts and Education. I was an assistant director to Tony-winner Sharon Ott and have written and produced my own work. I have experience in both stage and camera acting, which have specific technical differences, but are both a lot of fun once you get used to the medium. Audition technique, preparing monologues, and creating promotional materials are also things I can help with. Anyone who wants to ...

About Rebecca
I have worked professionally as a singer and actor for over twelve years, having performed on Broadway in Lincoln Center's Tony-winning Revival of "South Pacific" with Paulo Szot, Laura Osnes, and Danny Burstein and toured the country with Rob McClure and Anika Larson in the First National Tour of "Avenue Q." I have an MFA in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design, graduated summa cum laude, and was the only female recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Vocal Performance. My BA is in Arts and Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. I'm currently signed with Roth and Associates East.

Over 90% of my career is from attending open calls, including finding representation and my Broadway debut.

Took my first performance class with Gregory (after decades away), a Hamlet Scene Study. Class was a nice size (14 people), diverse in age and previous experience, several of them were returning to Gregory's class for a second time, and it was just fantastic. Several of the folks had done some professional work, some were plotting an escape from a current non-theatre career into acting, quite a few were active participants in community theatre here in DC, and some were just passionate about The Bard, reading and analyzing the text, and deepening their understanding of the work. I marveled at how well he addressed all his students, meeting them at their level, whatever that was. He created a very welcoming environment, lots of humor, lots of physicality, open-mindedness, and it was just fascinating to see each scene study pairing, no matter what their level, improve their performance of the scene after some direction and creative input from Gregory, as well as the other students. Highly recommend. I plan to take his class again as soon as convenient, and maybe other classes as well.

Gregory Wooddell is a phenomenal acting teacher and coach. I have taken many classes with him, and I have also had private lessons from him. He works with everyone at whatever level they are at, and he makes excellent, insightful, and understandable suggestions to improve the acting. And there is always a very noticeable improvement. Gregory is fair, patient, and always encouraging. He creates a safe and fun environment for students.

I have taken both group Shakespearean scene study courses and private monologue classes with Gregory. He is a superb teacher. For me , the following teaching approaches set him apart from other acting teachers:
1-a democratic and inclusive attitude towards the work
of all students in the class 2-his focus on clarity and mining the words of a text , and 3-no bologna, constructive feedback!
