I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis. I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham. I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system. Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc.... The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

Welcome! My name is Toshi M. I was born in Hiroshima City and raised in Tokyo, Japan.
I am a veteran Japanese language tutor with over 15 years of experience. I teach people of all ages (from 2 to 85 years old) from all over the world, both in person and through online platforms.
I am currently working with a new project through Google called, "Ok Glass." It's a data collection project that leads to the betterment of Google products for voice search capabilities in their Google search engine, Chrome software and Google Glass. Google has chosen me to record, translate and transcribe for these projects within the Japanese division!
***Please read my entire page including the Cancellation, reschedule and late Policy carefully before purchasing lessons!!***
My tutoring policy is not just simply to teach the Japanese language as
a Japanese. No, I always want to teach students more than the language.
If you are interested in the Japanese traditions as well as the language and traditions, then that is a good start for learning. Fun, interest and enjoyment are the best tools for learning with my tutoring.
You will not only be able to speak Japanese, but you will grasp the traits of the Japanese language, traditions, history, culture, and, most importantly, the uniquely Japanese styles of courtesy and customs simultaneously!
I teach practical Japanese so you can actually communicate and exchange proper responses with real Japanese with a sense of smooth conversation. My teaching method varies depending on the student's level.
Are you struggling?
Perhaps you went to a Japanese language school, but when you saw Japanese anime or movies you still did not understand? Then you wondered WHY, didn't you! After all, you paid so much money for school!
Here is the answer: most of the school are not teaching true and complete Japanese! Yes, they are teaching proper Japanese very well. but it only works for some test like a JLPT or speaking at work.
The SECRET is that Japanese people do not speak proper Japanese all the time. They usually speak casual, informal Japanese when they are talking with friends and family, and there are gender differences in spoken Japanese!
Japanese movies and anime cartoons, manga, are mostly stories of friends and family, NOT stories of formal work.
That is why you need to know proper Japanese and casual, informal Japanese both! The Japanese culture and language have customs and orders which you must know and understand completely!
I teach both of these structures at the same time. You need to know when and how to change from proper verbs to casual, informal verbs, and then you will begin to understand the Japanese anime and movies!
I am very strong in teaching proper Japanese, including reading and writing Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. If you are only interested in JLPT Training (any level) or AP Japanese Language and Culture, we can certainly work with that.
However, I also teach business Japanese, word beautification, gender differences in spoken Japanese, proper and casual conversations, polite language, humble language, and respectful verbs. This is necessary for improving your personal and business relations!
I also teach Japanese slang along with many other aspects of the Japanese culture. Whatever you need or want to learn, I am here to assist you!
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I can tutor you in private lessons at your computer. I am experienced with teaching all levels and all ages!
I give a fun, relaxed lesson and work to teach the precise and gentle true Japanese way in a friendly and open-minded one-on-one session or group lessons via Skype.
I believe you will find everything you need, because I am focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction. I will do everything I can to meet your expectations, and with a variety of offerings to choose from, I am sure you will be happy working with me!
I also teach ORIGAMI (Japanese art of paper folding), Japanese Calligraphy, how to make SUSHI, and how to hold the Japanese Traditional Tea Ceremony, How to make healthy Japanese foods. I am able to give you information about J-POP and traditional Japanese songs as well. We can have fun with those, too.
If you would like to have a lesson once per week or twice per week, let's discuss the possibilities!
I do not usually set up a specific 10-hour or 20-hour plan, because it all depends on the student's level.
I then find the best speed for each student. At that point, if you want to stop at 10 hours, that is fine, and you can stop! Or, if you want to continue to do the class, you can continue. You may stop at 8, 15 or 30 sessions... whatever is best for you!
Do you want to speak Japanese for a few conversations... or do you want to speak Japanese fluently? Or perhaps you want to take a Japanese Language Proficiency Test or AP Japanese Language and Culture Test? That all depends on your achievement!
You can let me know if you want to continue or not anytime! Let's go from there!
If you have any questions about my tutoring, please feel free to contact me through TakeLessons.com.
Hope to see you soon, I look forward to lesson with you! :)
Have an awesome day and God Bless!

If you do not reach me within the 24 hour period, you will be charged for the lesson. (You must contact me 24 hours in advance or else you will be charged for the lesson. It does not matter what the reason the is, you will be charged.)
If you cannot make your assigned lesson time for more than two weeks consecutively (for vacation, camp, or for any other reason) I will have to give your lesson time to another student. I work with many students and have a busy teaching schedule, which means that I cannot afford to hold a time slot with a student that cannot consistently show up for their lesson. If you would to start lessons again, I ask that you please chose your preferred day and time from my availability, and then let me know when you want to start again. I will then put you in my schedule.

Very informative easy to work with... Had I found him!!
I learned to sew in Vacation Bible School at my church when I was in 7th grade. I made my first pair of overalls and was on top of the world. That began my love of sewing and all things crafty. Today I love working as a special education teacher. But my first love is teaching beginner and intermediate level sewing to kids and adults. I have two children (1 in college and 1 in 10th grade) and when I'm not working or sewing I help my husband at his sports training facility.
My Crafty Table Sewing and Craft Studio teaches children how to use math skills to sew. All of our "leveled" projects are connected to national learning standards and offers a wide range of opportunities for all ability levels for kids 10 years old and up. Our local classes uses a children's sewing curriculum, while our online classes uses commercial patterns. Stud
ents learn hand and machine sewing, sewing vocabulary and techniques, and various equipment and and safety usage. We host a small, friendly, relaxed setting which is what I find allows children to have the courage to explore, make mistakes, and discover their talents.
My Crafty Table isn't just for kids! I welcome adults who are looking to learn to sew or enhance their current skills. Whether you are looking to create something to wear or something to beautify your home, we can teach you how to bring your ideas to reality. Our online and live classes utilize commercial patterns, sewing machines, and a variety of supplies based on projects being completed. We guide you every step of the way from selecting materials to recommending supplies. The only question you need to answer now is: SEW what"s next?
Very welcoming. Very patient. Answered all of my questions.

Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Combined with her training and professional experience, Nicole teaches singers to switch gracefully between multiple styles. She practices what she preaches: one night she might be singing Beyoncé, and the next morning she might be singing Handel's Messiah!
Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),

I just want to say, "I am very pleased working with Thomas." I never thought that I could master the game of chess especially by being impatient and a slower learner. This is my fourth lesson and I have already played a game of chess. Thank You So Much, Thomas. I can't wait until my next lessons.

I've been tutoring since I was 8 years old (yes, 8 years old!). I love my students and helping them achieve their dreams!
Athan is an excellent teacher. Very enthusiastic about the subject.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the lessons.

Athan was great. Can’t wait for next lesson
January 19, 2019
I've used Athan for several lessons now and he's become a friend. Happy to write this review for him (though I secretly don't want other players to get the same coaching :)). I can't recommend him enough as he's saved me tons of money and has made me much more. Athan is so smart and analytical. I already knew how to play before we started but I wasn't winning much if at all, in my home games and in casinos both in cash games and in tournaments. Athan came with a completely custom lesson plan and helped break apart how to think about the game in general, how to play players, the math, specific leaks/weak spots, and different situations. Just try one lesson and I think you'll see the same.
I learned to crochet in grade school, taught myself to knit and learned to sew from my mother at a very early age. Teaching grade school children/students is my passion. I believe learning to knit and sew can help students learn a level of patience and persistence that will help them in their school work. In October, I retook and passed the NCLEX, and I have restored my nursing license to active status. I would love to tutor nursing students of all levels. My professional background is in Pediatrics - especially Pediatric Critical Care. I'm especially passionate about helping nursing students that need help with basic math/algebra.
Very lovely and welcoming teacher. She asked my daughter about her goal and worked with her patiently to achieve it. We might come back again next year.

Angela was a an excellent instructor! She was very engaged with staff as we had zero experience! Angela was able to incorporate mindfulness practices into our knitting session with my management team. I would highly recommend her!
I am an experienced knitting teacher and am certified to teach knitting by The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA) and crochet by the Craft Yarn Council of America. My goal is to educate and preserve for future generations the appreciation of hand knitting and crochet as fiber arts that provide stress relief, are a creative outlet, and provides a sense of accomplishment.
Since 2004 I’ve taught hundreds of people the crafts of knitting and crochet. While developing a well-organized teaching approach, creating effective lesson plans and fun methods of teaching basic to advanced techniques and sharpening my ability to tailor my teaching skills to fit the needs of all students I’ve learned that there’s no wrong way to learn and absolutely everyone can pick up these rewarding hobbies.
Whether you’re just learning to knit and crochet or y
ou’ve been stitching since you were five.... I can help you to expand your knowledge. I look forward to knitting and crocheting with you!
