*** Lesson Details *** College professor available to tutor students in a variety of social science disciplines as well as basic math. Also available for music and dance lessons both online and in person.
Math is my biggest passion, ever since I discovered its full depth. While many ask themselves "how will this equation be useful in my life?" I always ask myself "how can I make this equation meaningful in my life." I am a mathematics major and have enjoyed every single math class I have ever taken.
Please contact me before making a payment! Ever since I started my studies in the United States, 5 years ago, I have been captivated by the educational system. Initially, I tutored high school students as a tool to better practice my communication skills with the English language. I continued this tutoring path by aiding other college students on a 1-to-1 basis and more recently as part of an online experience. Math is my biggest passion, ever since I discovered its full depth. While many ask themselves "how will this equation be useful in my life?" I always ask myself "how can I make this equation meaningful in my life."

Math Tutor and Teacher - Personal or Online - Skillful and Effective
I love tutoring and my approach is three-fold. First, I help each person learn how to become more successful and independent lifelong learners. Second, each tutee should complete their assignments as much as possible before each session so we can identify and focus on specific trouble spots. Third, I work within the framework and scope of their primary mathematics teacher to supplement and augment what is happening in the classroom.
I have experience as a nationally certified tutor, tutoring in high school and college, as well as volunteer tutoring of the GED math tests. I have also taught middle and high school mathematics and instructed college mathematics. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults of all ages. My tutoring and teaching experience includes element
ary school to grand parents in age, as well as non-traditional students, and Veterans.
I also teach university math remediation classes (AKA developmental education) as well as classes to bypass remediation by preparing for the Accuplacer/Compass admission tests.
I am familiar and comfortable with current technology (graphing calculators, computer algebra systems, computers, mathematics programming) as well distance learning (online homework and testing and MyMathLab, WebAssign, Khan Academy, Skype, etc.).
In addition to tutoring online I enjoy working in person with each student. Meeting at local public libraries is ideal as some branches have reservable private and safe study rooms with white boards.
For each appointment the tutee needs to bring all their materials, text book, class notes, completed homework (as much as possible), specific questions for me, and any completed instructions from our previous session. If online homework is used in class then please bring a laptop. If you don't have one, there are often Chromebooks available for checkout at the library. One hour appoints are preferred because they allow more time for specific learning and growth.
Additionally, I can supplement or substitute regular homework with specific and tailored lesson plans.
Shortly after each session, I will report our progress and my obervations, including instructions for follow up.
I strongly recommend use of the WyzAnt app for easier communication and calendaring purposes.
I enjoy helping each tutee recognize that they are, in fact, capable of learning and succeeding in mathematics. I look forward to the opportunity to serve.
I'm an experienced AP/undergrad/MBA Statistics and Excel tutor looking to help you or your child succeed. I understand statistics is not as simple as it seems, and professors, teachers, and the AP ask unintuitive questions. I'll break concepts down using plain English to help you or your child tackle the course load effectively.
Hi! I'm a statistics/Excel tutor with experience in AP, undergrad, MBA, and calc-based statistics. I know statistics can be unintuitive, and I'll work with you to reach your goals. I'll explain concepts and questions in coursework using relevant examples and plain English.
I'm available for long term tutoring as well as immediate assistance. I'm also used to teaching/drawing diagrams on online platforms, and can guide you through the process.
I’m a graduate from Cornell University and a former Accenture statistical analytics consultant. I received my Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Operations Research.
While at Accenture, I’ve taught clients introductory statistics to give them the tools to understand business data. I enjoy teaching Math, Statistics, and general digital marketing/statistics. I also have experien
ce in statistical data mining and script programming using R.
I’m passionate about making sure my students are equipped with a deeper understanding of seemingly difficult topics. I like using a combination of visuals and situations relatable to a students’ interests. In my experience, abstract topics like Statistics tend to be easier to understand when people visualize a concept on paper or online.
In my spare time, I follow the NBA and NFL. I’m also a semi-professional hip hop dancer.
I can make a hard or boring subject easy and enjoyable to learn. My priority is student success - I work to make it happen. My ability comes from extensive experience, a history of student success, and personal achievement in the subject.
Having trouble with a subject? Whether you want to work on improving your grade or aiming for your next 4.0, I'm here to help. From simple to complex, we'll work on it in a way that makes sense to you and allows you to be successful in your class.
I have mentored over 50 students in 20+ different subjects. I have experience with grades 4th to 12th, undergraduates, graduate students, and industry professionals.
I guarantee improvement in your understanding of the material starting from our first lesson together. I am committed to my students' success!
My name is Gerardo M. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. I am a STEM-focused tutor that specializes in teaching all levels of math (AP included), science, academic test prep, and college level classes. One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is my ability to communicate with my students. I identify areas that need improvement and figure out where the fundamental disconnect between the material and my student's understanding of it exists. In addition to tutoring, I have 7 years of experience in technology startups in the semiconductors and consumer electronics industries.
My philosophy is to teach my students to learn by intuition and logic rather than memorization. I emphasize teaching the fundamentals to build up a strong foundation of understanding. I believe this approach produces superior l
ong-term learning and enables my students to continue succeeding later in life.
Gerardo definitely knows a lot about Microsoft Excel. He taught me how to use pivot tables, create histograms, produce graphs of data, and he also helped me learn a few keyboard short-cuts to do my work more efficiently. Gerardo is a patient and effective tutor and I highly recommend him!

Gerardo helped me out in Calculus because I was truly struggling. I had a tough professor and I had not taken a math course in a couple of years. He did a great job at tutoring me through webcam and he was really patient with me. I would definitely recommend!

Gerardo helped me prepare for my AP Calculus AB test. I had trouble understanding certain concepts such as related rates and using integration to find volumes. He explained problems very clearly by going step-by-step, and making sure I understood the process every step of the way. I highly recommend Gerardo if you are looking for a math tutor.
"Professor Alex is plainly the best instructor I have ever encountered. Alex does not read the textbook aloud to students in a monotone and boring way. He
plucks out the most important material and starts an engaging discussion/debate regardless of the topic. He can make anything seem interesting and easy to understand. What makes Alex different than most teachers is his commitment to his students. If you want to learn, he will go out of his way to teach you. If you don't understand something, he will slow it down for you and spend the necessary effort in order for you to understand. You can actually tell that he cares about what you think as well as your success in life. No other teacher has remotely been as helpful as he has."
"Kawin is amazing!! I took statistics at NYU and really struggled starting off. Kawin explains everything in the most simple, understandable way. Truly hel
ped me understand the material rather than simply know how to do questions/take tests. Really a great tutor and helped me so much. Finished the class with a solid A thanks to him!"
"excellent review. well done."
"Terrific. Very flexible. Very considerate of time. Provides dense material comparable to the college coursework itself. Extremely prepared to assist in st
ats and am assuming he is equally capable at tutoring in other subjects. Highly recommend saran!"
"Great at explaining concepts, took the time to thoroughly go through fundamentals and made sure I understood questions I asked. Will definitely book anoth
er session if I need more help later in my stats course!"
"Professor Alex is a wonderful teacher. He knows what he is teaching and makes sure that his students learn as much as they can. He can go to any length t
o explain the most complex problems in the simplest possible way. He also teaches me programming. I highly recommend him."
"Great lesson again, breaks it down, makes it simple and more importantly makes it specific to what you are doing so its easier to grasp."
"I has reached out Rod at the point in which I resigned and I was expecting to get "B" in my statistics class. I was not confident and constantly struggled
in responding to the test questions because I was not sure of concepts. Rod explained me concepts step by step in a very simple way also, by drawing the graphs and that everything was clear for me as visual person. He was able to answered and explained all my questions that I was well prepared and confident on my final exam. Thanks to him I gained the necessary knowledge and I ended with "A"."
"Professor Alex is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful instructors that I have ever had. Regardless of the subject matter, Alex presents the subject
matter to students in a way that is much easier to understand as compared to the generic cookie cutter or "straight from the textbook" explanation. In doing this, learning from Alex is not the typical memorization of information but rather the actual understanding of concepts and how they can be applied to a variety of situations."
