Theater Acting is a skill quite different from film acting. I have been teaching acting for three years. Build up repertoire, learn to dissect a character and a monologue, character development, finding a goal to become the character and deliver a line the right way.

Also encourage creating and writing your own work and researching others for inspiration.

Ali has had music in her life since she was in the crib. She has performed professionally in the musical theatre world and she has studied in several universities for Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop, Blues, and R&B. Since the age of sixteen, she has been selected to sing as a guest soloist for venues such as Spivey Hall, Georgia World Congress Center, and Georgia Tech Hotel Conference Center. Ali has also sung for many movies and recordings, and recently recorded a demo for David Foster, Barbra Streisand, and Andrea Bocelli and recently toured as a pianist for "The Women of Ireland." About Maria
MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of my studio is to create well-rounded, educated musicians who will always have a lifelong passion for the art no matter their long-term goals. I strive for my students to be:

(1) Lifelong learners who develop successful learning habits.
(2) Creative and critical thinkers who will become effective communicators.
(3) Responsible and respectful members of society who respect other cultures.
(4) Able to set short-term and long-term goals and be able to see them through to their success.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

It is of the utmost importance that my students are well-educated in their chosen instrument; they must know and understand music and music-making. Students who can play are a dime a dozen, but students who understand the music they are playing are often hard to find. I teach students to kno
w music thoroughly, not just to “play.” I desire my students to comprehend elements of the score, to use their bodies effectively to make good sound, and to interpret music creatively and according to historical performance practices across all genres of music. Thus, I give students a purposeful education in technique, quality literature, performance and artistry, music theory, and music history.

Although students differ in ability and development, I maintain high expectations for our students. I expect attention and respect in lessons, faithful and diligent practice, careful adherence to instructions, and an “I’ll-do-my-best” attitude. If students regularly meet these expectations, then they will excel to the level that they are able. It is my joy to help students master their music, to do the best they can, and to strive for and achieve excellence.

Lastly, I want students to enjoy and appreciate their instrument, music, and music-making; and I know as as a teacher, I am very influential in making this happen. Students develop enjoyment of music by understanding music, experiencing success in music, being exposed to good and varied genres of music, and receiving instruction from a teacher who is enthusiastic and encouraging. It is my goal to provide all of these opportunities for students, and as a result their lives will be enriched as they enjoy their instrument.

Keith is fantastic! He expects the highest level of preparation and performance from me at all my lessons and thus pushes me to be a better performer every time. He tailors my lessons to exactly what I need - specific work for upcoming auditions as well as more general work to expand my repertoire. His lessons are also not not limited singing coaching - he also provides coaching in acting and movement. I feel like I have presented some of my best work to auditors as a result of working with Keith! And he does all this in the friendliest manner possible so that my lessons are always a great combination of fun, hard work, and inspiration.

Also, he is pretty easy-going with scheduling and just let him know in advance and he will reschedule the class for you. Definitely recommended.

Honestly the BEST!! I was able to purchase 10 lessons with Michael as a birthday present. I love broadway singing and am self-taught. I had basically reached the end of what I could do myself, and these lessons were incredibly helpful. I had a major breakthrough and have never been happier with my voice. He is incredibly organized, professional, and friendly. It can be nerve racking singing in front of someone, but he makes you feel comfortable and enables you to have fun and look forward to your lessons. I wish I was able to continue my lessons with Michael. I would recommend him to everyone!! Seriously the best!

He could pin point my weakness and design specific vocal exercise to improve me. All of his explanations are comprehensible and his excercises are achievable. Our lessons will be an immersive experience that will engage your entire mind and body. Whether you are just beginning your career as an actor or are currently working professionally, we will work on fine tuning your skills so that you will be a well rounded artist with a wide range of tools and techniques to pull from!

About Ashli
Hi! My name is Ashli and I have been a professional actress for over 20 years. I have several professional (TV/Film) credits and I have been in over 20 stage plays. In addition to my professional career, I have been studying acting for over 15 years and hold a bachelors degree in theatre acting from The California Institute of the Arts.

I began coaching and directing actors about 10 years ago. I can teach any age (5+) and any experience level, though, having been a child actor myself, I connect especially well with kid and teen actors. My teaching methods are rooted in several different techniques (method, Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky) but overall, my approach is one that immerses the actor in their work fully. Our sessions will engage your mind, body, and spirit with the hopes that you will become a well rounded and captivating artist and
performer.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

This course is designed for students who want to study acting through the lens of the text. In my course for beginners and early level actors, we analyze the script for clues left by the writer and apply them to our performances. What is the difference between a beat and a pause? A pause and silence? How do we treat ellipses, commas, and periods? We also look at how the director might interpret and influence the performance as well as differences in performing for theatre versus film.

This class is geared toward the individual, and advanced students may elect to use our time to prepare a monologue for auditions or practice a scene for class in addition to the above lessons.

My lessons stem from the successful work done at my theatre company, which focuses on partnering with student actors to provide them with professional experience as well as exposing them to directing and acting techniques that may be different from what they previously encountered.

As a professional actress currently recurring on CW's Black Lightning, I know what it takes to not only pursue this as a career, but also how nerve wrecking it is to walk into an audition room. After countless auditions, I have built my own system focused on BOOKING the role, and strategically aligning myself with the right opportunities. We will go DEEP into the work, and if you're a beginner, no worries, I can help you at any stage! The system I've put in place is a combination of acting/scene analysis technique I've learned along the way. I would love to teach you!

About Zsane
Hey! I'm a professional actress and writer that LOVES to craft authentic stories. I received my BFA from North Carolina A&T State University where I majored in Professional Theatre. I transitioned into TV/Film acting upon graduating, so I've been lucky enough to experience the best of both worlds.

The key to Acting is simple: Tell the TRUTH. It's how you access that truth in the most intuitive and human way that tends to complicate things. Also, being able to craft a compelling audition requires you to do more than just your standard acting. I can help to demystify the differences between run of the mill scene acting vs. auditioning. I will share my proven technique to help you BOOK the role, and if not, BOOK the room to create fans out of the Casting Director and/or Producer.

I use a proven system/technique that relies heavily on intu
ition and emotional drive. This exact system has helped me booked my recurring role on CW's Black Lightning, the critically acclaimed recent film The Hate U Give, and an upcoming HBO pilot. The goal is to get you ready to book whatever opportunity comes your way!

We will explore at a pace you are comfortable with, and every lesson will be tailored to your specific areas of development. We can also explore improv, cold reading and scene study. I am also able to teach on a variety of other topics outside of auditioning, regarding pursuing an acting career: Acting materials (headshot, resume, acting profiles, demo reel), Agents, Marketing, Mindset, etc.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Let's get started!
