Theater Acting is a skill quite different from film acting. I have been teaching acting for three years. Build up repertoire, learn to dissect a character and a monologue, character development, finding a goal to become the character and deliver a line the right way.

Also encourage creating and writing your own work and researching others for inspiration.

About Ali
Ali has had music in her life since she was in the crib. She has performed professionally in the musical theatre world and she has studied in several universities for Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop, Blues, and R&B. Since the age of sixteen, she has been selected to sing as a guest soloist for venues such as Spivey Hall, Georgia World Congress Center, and Georgia Tech Hotel Conference Center. Ali has also sung for many movies and recordings, and recently recorded a demo for David Foster, Barbra Streisand, and Andrea Bocelli and recently toured as a pianist for "The Women of Ireland." She is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music and earned her BM in Music Business and Vocal Performance cum laude studying under Magi Scott, Jeff Ramsey, Jerome Kyles, and Carolyn Escoffrey, Donna McElroy, Livingston Taylor, Joan Lader, and Charlie Sorrent
o.

Ali is also known for playing piano. She received her minor in Piano Performance within a year at Shorter College under Helen Ramsaur. She has been playing since she was five years old and has accompanied many people and musical productions.

Some of Ali's major influences include:

Linda Eder, Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Lena Horne, Judy Garland, Whitney Houston, Billie Holliday, and Lara Fabian, Barbra Streisand

*** Lesson Details ***
Ali loves to share her passion of music to the world and especially through her students. She loves to share new ideas and nuances along with the basics and fundamentals of technique. Although practice can be boring for the student, asking a student to pick at least one song to work on can help the student and the teacher have fun and learn at the same time. After a few months, not only will her students have fun, but they will learn how to be a better person and musician.

Keith is fantastic! He expects the highest level of preparation and performance from me at all my lessons and thus pushes me to be a better performer every time. He tailors my lessons to exactly what I need - specific work for upcoming auditions as well as more general work to expand my repertoire. His lessons are also not not limited singing coaching - he also provides coaching in acting and movement. I feel like I have presented some of my best work to auditors as a result of working with Keith! And he does all this in the friendliest manner possible so that my lessons are always a great combination of fun, hard work, and inspiration.

Keith is a knowledgeable and great teacher. He will let you feel comfortable at singing and doing all the practices and make you realize what the correct postures and things needed to make you feel confident. Also, he is pretty easy-going with scheduling and just let him know in advance and he will reschedule the class for you. Definitely recommended.

Acting is such a broad term! What are your goals? Do you want to be in films? Do you want to do Shakespeare? Do you want to be in a sit com? Depending upon what your interests are and where you want to go, we will build a plan together. My philosophy on acting techniques is that they are tools to help you, not tests you pass if you're a good actor and fail if you're a bad one. Different techniques work for different people and it is our job to find out what inspires you.

I've worked as a professional actor for many years, performed on Broadway, have my MFA in Performing Arts, and my BA in Arts and Education. I was an assistant director to Tony-winner Sharon Ott and have written and produced my own work. I have experience in both stage and camera acting, which have specific technical differences, but are both a lot of fun once you get used to the medium. Audition technique, preparing monologues, and creating promotional materials are also things I can help with. Anyone who wants to ...

About Rebecca
My approach is both supportive and pragmatic, based on where each individual's skill set is right now and what your specific goals are. I've had the benefit of both formal instruction as well as a decade in the "school of hard knocks." Climbing up the ladder to earn my Equity Card on a Production Contact taught me a lot and I believe gave me a nuanced perspective as a performer.

Over 95% of my career is from attending open calls, including finding representation and my Broadway debut.

I continue to audition for film, television, and theatre, as well as perform in concerts and other venues. I write and produce my own work and am currently signed with Roth and Associates East.

I teach from a foundation of qualities that all great acting is built upon. With over 10 years of experience working in theater and film I've trained with some of Hollywood's veterans in the craft of acting and learned invaluable lessons along the way. I offer a concise and effective approach to acting that is accessible for any student who has a passion and desire to portray a convincing and believable character.

About Jared
Having studied directly with one of Hollywood's respected acting coaches, Gordon Michaels for two years, I went on to star in the feature film Courageous Love with Hollywood veteran Patricia Mauceri from ABC soap opera, One Life to Live. I then received the Best Actor award for two short films, one I directed and both I starred in, at the Michigan Film Society Film Challenge and both films earned nominations at the Annual Eclipse Awards 2018.

Through this experience I have developed an approach to acting that I believe to be both effective for creating convincing performances and efficient for any actor to learn from, whether beginning or experienced.

All good acting is internal, connected, and experienced; both by the actor as well as the audience and I will teach you how to do just that!

Character development through text. The playwright has all there for you to discover. We will work on objective, tactics, beats, and motivation. Also the fun stuff of back story and relationships between the characters.
Of course the text wont have all the answers to helping you connect to your character. Together we can work on how to join the two.

About Elura
I am a graduate from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro with a B.A. in Theatre Performance. Moved to Chicago late 2016, and since, I have studied at Black Box Studio and Vagabond School of the Arts.
In addition to doing stage acting since the age of 11 and film from college until now, I have worked all sides of the table. I have been an actor, director, costume designer, set builder, and wardrobe supervisor. My favorite show I’ve ever been a part of was when I played a nymph in a production of The Tempest where I got to wear full body glow in the dark paint and perform a dance in aerial silks.
I have been trained in the Meisner acting technique, but as an actor use text based character analysis to develop my characters.
When it comes to teaching, I choreographed for 3 summers for a musical camp and worked with fellow actors
in college for audition prep and character development.
Can't wait to meet you!
