About Allison
Hi! I am originally from Auburn, Alabama (War Eagle!); I moved to Baton Rouge to study music at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) for four years. I graduated from Auburn University in December of 2018 with a Bachelors of Civil Engineering and moved to Florida to start my engineering life.

I love teaching almost as much as I love playing music and solving problems. Let me help you master these subjects and learn to appreciate them as much as I do!

I have been a classroom teacher for 11 years. I got my degree in elementary education. I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. I'm best with younger grades. I can help with homework or plan a lesson over any concept you are having trouble with. I like to make learning fun. I have taught math, science, language arts, and social studies.

About Kevin
I truly enjoy teaching. I've taught in the public school classroom for 11 years. Teaching music is so so much FUN! And it should be fun for the students to learn. When I'm teaching I tell all my students that if they don't enjoy and smile about something, then we need to change something.

I would love to start lessons with you soon.

I was out of town when my 15-year old son had his lesson with Kevin, so I sent a text to my son to find out how it went. "He is the best guitar teacher ever!!" my son replied. I think that says it all.

Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Fauzia.
I received a BA in English from Smith College with a minor in Government. I also have an M.P.A. in Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have been tutoring all ages for the past year and many of the elementary students needed help with math. I can go up to the 4th-grade level. One of my students was below 50% and ended up on the honor roll. I would love to help you!

About Fauzia
I have a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts. My BA was in English from Smith College with a minor in Government. I am certified in TESOL.
I tutor students at home, in libraries or other public places, and online. I can provide a background check done by Checkr on Sept 4, 2018.
I have been tutoring for about a year now with Varsity Tutors. I have taught reading and comprehension. I do math up to third grade. I also have experience in prepping students for the English evidence-based reading and writing part of the SAT/ACT. With older students, I work best in English and Social Science.
I am approved to tutor in 20 subjects and received high scores in these areas.
I am excellent in all aspects of English - language, literature - from reading comprehension, vocabulary, essay editing and proofre
ading to writing. I also am knowledgeable in government and history - American, European and World. I am very aware of current events and how they relate to academics and the patterns of the past.
Since I began tutoring, I have explored many educational resources available online to help students. As part of my continuing education, I am working on how to best use them in my lessons. I have subscribed to at least 16 different web sites (ex. Quizlet, Readworks, etc.) at my own expense to continually improve my skills. I go over and above to find materials that helps my students. I am also a member of the National Tutoring Association.
I try to make difficult subjects accessible, easier to understand, and even fun. I do my best to always be positive, patient and supportive of the student’s challenges and efforts. This is the background of my teaching style.
I would work with the student’s existing curriculum and help them with their assignments. I strive to go beyond with related subject matter to further expand their knowledge, ease, and grasp. I design lesson plans tailored to their specific needs and likes – everyone is different. I strongly believe that teaching is best-done one-on-one and facilitated by conversation - where the student and I work as a team. I have worked with students in all levels – elementary, middle and high school.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to ask any questions.
