I have been playing chess for well over 30 years. I have taught one on one
children and adults for about 10 years. I have great patience when I teach
students never believing that any concept is too difficult to understand or
master. I have a love for the game that I want to instill in others
I have hundreds of chess books and have gotten to know lots of chessplayers
throughout the years. I do my best to have my students gain and UNDERSTANDING of the game rather than just rote memorization.

About Dennis

Very personal live experience for each of the classes I am offering: beginner sewers that have never used a machine. Intermediate classes for people that know a little and more advanced classes for people that are working on projects, but may just need a bit of help.
We will also do easy projects, new projects and patterns, also everyday living sewing knowledge.

About Mystique

I have hand sewn many outfits and altered quite a few costumes, while also working with sewing machines off and on since I was a young teen. It's m

My approach to teaching is that the lessons have to be customized for each student. I start beginner lessons with exercises that help familiarize them with the movement of each piece. They will also develop a sense of the powers and unique abilities possessed by that piece.

My focus on intermediate and advanced students is to help them develop their tactical ability. Chess is primarily an exercise in pattern recognition. I helped them develop that pattern.

We will then customize the lessons based on the student's interests and the topics that I feel will improve their game. We will play over the games of the great grandmasters and develop endgame technique. We will utilize openings that promote tactical situations.

Finally, we will have a lesson on chess etiquette.

About Richard

Chess is an exciting game that provides mental stimulation. It is a good way to increase math and reading ability. It is also a good way to avoid Alzheimer's. I try to make chess instruction as interesting as possible. I will show the student how to build on their knowledge.
