His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician.
This year Jason was also the Music Director at the National Guitar Workshop Day Jams Rock Music Day Camp where students ages 7-15 came out to form bands, record original material and master their craft. He also taught beginning to advanced guitar/ vocals/ performance and songwri
Jason has host student showcases/charity benefits where his students were able to get on stage and show off their new talent and perform with other musicians. It wasn't mandatory though, if you were just looking to come out and support there was no pressure other than to come out and have fun.
Jason has been transcribing for guitar and bass since the age of 18 and since then has become a master of the craft including both 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Artists and genres that Jason has experience with range from Classic Rock, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Pierce the Veil, Paramore, All Time Low, Demi Lava to, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes, Green Day, Old Crow Medicine Show, Taylor Swift, Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars, Rob Zombie, John 5, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Van Morrison, the Beatles, AC/DC, ZZ-Top, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Sublime, Aerosmith, At the Drive In, Type O Negative, the Black Keys, the Pixies, the Toadies, Black Sabbath, Jason Mraz, Lady GaGa, John Mayer and Journey.
Jason attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where his degree is in Music and Business. He is constantly continuing his education with music theory courses as well as private guitar instruction. He attends guitar workshops and seminars by artists such as John5 and Kerry King who are known as some of the worlds finest guitar players. He reviews every day from a wide range of over 1000 sources working to become a better musician and instructor.
Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one on one sessions with Jason is learning the ability to craft and record your own songs using state of the art technology that caters to your own unique personality. There are no limits!

All of my students, meaning a perfect 100%, have improved their grades by at least one letter grade, if not more, and passed every one of their tests and exams. I help ALL my clients reach their goals!
A couple years ago, I returned to San Diego after living in Peru for several years where I taught English as a second language. My students ranged from adult business people and academicians to primary and secondary school students. I really needed to utilize different teaching methods depending on each student’s needs. Some students wanted more business-related conversation, so I had to be able to teach business principles in marketing, communication,
The feedback I often received from my Peruvian students, as well as my students in Mexico and the U.S., was that I made learning an enjoyable experience—they wanted to work harder to advance quickly in their classes. All of my students agree that I have a lot of patience and turn even the most challenging lessons into ones of positivity and encouragement. I provide critical feedback in the most constructive of ways that help the students reach conclusions on their own. I enjoy being there to support and guide their experience!
Before I left for Peru, I worked at St Vincent de Paul Village (part of Father Joe's Villages) in downtown San Diego. There I focused on Health Education. I built the Villages' first Health Education department and helped start its innovative Health & Wellness program. As part of these two programs, I taught homeless and low-income adults with and without learning disabilities, as well as children from preschoolers to high school students. Teaching such a wide variety of students how to improve their health while living in sometimes precarious situations without much income or stability pushed me to think creatively and come up with memorable ways to engage the students and help them apply what they had learned in their daily routine.
In high school, I took all AP and college prep classes. I went to a liberal arts college in Virginia where I focused on social studies and biology. I spent a few years training business people in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, InDesign, as well as presentation techniques. In grad school, I specialized in applied anthropology and public health. During that time, I tutored students in web design. In between, I've worked in Communications and Training in international health and development, so I have a lot of experience to bring to teaching.
Basically, I love teaching. I'm enthusiastic yet patient, and I absolutely adore helping kids and adults alike learn. It's such a sense of accomplishment when my students show off their terrific grades. I see the same look in my students’ eyes regardless of age—that pride that shines from within, that exuberant smile, like they can conquer anything. I want my students to keep that pride for a long, long time.
Right now, I'm writing two textbooks to be used in my Spanish classes. I've also written several academic articles published online. I love traveling, cats, and learning!

I also have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. in Psychology from Wellesley College. As a licensed psychologist, I also practice psychotherapy (totally separate from my coaching practice).
In both coaching and psychotherapy, my approach is what is called "solution focused." That means that the focus is on helping people meet their goals by discovering and building on what's already working in their lives. With this approach, it isn't necessary to know everything about the past or even the problem to create solutions now.
I developed the "Doing What Works" and "Solution Focused Anxiety Management" programs and have facilitated them with hundred
I've had the privilege of teaching solution focused practice to many people. I've presented workshops on my “doing what works approach” to solution focused practice in the USA and abroad.
I am also an author. My most recent book, on decision making, is "How Do You Know When You Know?" A recent review of this book described it as "full of practical guidelines, relevant information, and examples written in an easy to read and engaging style... Ellen is a well-respected and revered giant in the field. Her brilliance extends to psychotherapy, coaching, writing and training."
I've also written books for professionals, "Solution Focused Anxiety Management," Doing What Works in Brief Therapy: A Strategic Solution Focused Approach" (1st and 2nd Editions), and "Core Competencies in the Solution Focused and Strategic Therapies." (The latter is part of a series on three primary approaches to practice, considered to be psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and solution focused. I had the honor of being asked to author the volume on solution focused practice).
With these experiences, I'm ready to help you discover strategies for riding through and beyond rough patches and bumps in the road. It would be my privilege to accompany you on your journey.

With the practice of yoga I have been able to take my practice from a physical experience to a spiritual experience and receive the sensation of "coming home to my mat". I would want nothing more to spread and teach yoga onto others so that they can become their best versions of themselves. I will personalize and customize yoga sessions so that they fit my student's needs and goals. If you want to have fun, get zen, and get flexible, let's work together!

Yoga has been such a life-changing practice for me, I was able to leave a highly stressful job and lifestyle in New York City behind to pursue my greatest passion of self betterment and helping others.
I’ve been able to learn from some amazing teachers in that time and have worked with a wide range of classes and students from folks brand new to the practice and physical activity to seasoned yogis, pro athletes, celebrities, people with illnesses and injuries, children and the elderly.
I’ve found that everyone has a hidden strength inside, a potential for happiness and their best self and my goal has been and will be to help bring it out you. I’m so grateful to wake up in the morning and do what I love every single day. Yoga is not a part time job or a s
I’m constantly trying to find the newest and best ways to challenge my students while making physical and mental changes accessible and above all fun! I demand my students work hard because true change is never easy, but it is so gratifying! Above all I also require that it brings a smile to their face!
I look forward to hearing your story and knowing how I can help. Let’s get on the path to your best self together!

Curious about inversion yoga? Learn how to do some of the essential poses in this guest post by San Diego teacher Tiffany V... We are so used to viewing life from a right-side-up perspective, where we soak in the world around us by way of our sensory organs (eyes, ears, nose, and mouth). We process everything upstairs, allowing it all to accumulate to form our point of view, which in turn fuels our decisions, reactions, and movements down to our toes.
