Hello, my name is Brenda! It is nice to meet you.
I have been teaching private lessons for over a decade, and have my B.M. in Music Education from William Paterson University. I was a voice major and flute/piano double minor, and I just completed my Masters of Music in Performance with the Opera Institute at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
Although I do work with students of all ages, I specialize in working with younger children and retired adults!
I teach voice, flute, piano, and clarinet, and have experience teaching in both individual and group settings. I also work on audition and performance preparation, do speech/accent work and more. I am constantly studying different teaching methods so I can develop a custom program that best fits your learning styles and incorporates what you already know, with what you will need to learn in order to achieve your goals.
**if you need a particular time slot or one not listed on my availability I will do my best to accommodate your needs**

patience and promptness
We are very happy with Brenda's approach to teaching piano to our 5-year old son. She is able to easily relate to him and so far has shown a great deal of patience in dealing with a young beginner, inspiring him to want to practice every night. We hope his initiation in piano will spark a true interest in music appreciation going forward.
