I am a fashion and accessories designer living in Oakland, CA. My company has been in business for 8 years.

I am a trained patternmaker; I graduated from the Louise Salinger Academy of Fashion with an associate degree in pattern making in 1997.

I have worked in the fashion industry since then. Vintage clothing is my obsession and I love to be able to design and sew clothing.
I have taught intensive sewing camps to girls and found it so rewarding.

I would love to share my skills and knowledge to budding fashion designers, crafters, and to those who want to learn how to sew!

Maria was so helpful! She was able to teach me the basics of my sewing machine even though she had not used that type before. I could tell just by talking to her how knowledgeable and passionate she is about her craft. I plan to definitely have more lessons with her in the future. Thanks again! :)

Maria is a fantastic pattern maker and sewing teacher! She was able to make a pattern out of my existing garment without taking it apart and walked me through all the steps of re-creating the item. Not only is she very knowledgable, she is also a great teacher and was able to explain things to me so I could retain them and practice on my own. I was completely new to sewing and she patiently answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with the different stitches. She also taught me how to setup and use my new sewing machine! Maria is a very down to earth and easy going person; it was really fun chatting during our lessons. I will definitely be back for more lessons!

Maria was a very thoughtful and thorough instructor. I would definitely take another class with her!

Welcome to a new experience of knowledge transfer on a warm environment of friendship.
I will be your guide and partner on this exciting experience of bringing yarn to life by crocheting dolls. I will teach you crochet techniques and how to read and understand amigurumi patterns on a variety of languages including english, spanish and some portuguese notations (russian and german is a work in progress).
I totally agree with the idea of self-learning (I did so) as a way on achieving and improving your crocheting goals by following online text, pictures and videos. But I love to think about you as a friend on top of a student, human to human relationships empowers learning and enrichen our souls and hearts.
My main goal is to shorten and soften your learning journey by getting together to share some good quality time while having some social chat about general-interest topics like Disney's parks, Netflix series, latinamerican culture, spanish language and such.

About Karina

In a time where we're all in a hurry going nowhere and everywhere at the same time, being so busy on top of ourselves and constantly being pulled out of reality and humanity by our smartphones. I've found really comforting spending some time on crocheting dolls, I've got bedazzled by the amigurumi

His ability to work with kids and not only make the game fascinating, but convey complex ideas in easy to understand ways is unmatched! In addition, his many years of international tournament experience and ideas gathered from the best in the world is clearly evident. 10/10 recommend.
