Becca L. is an amazing teacher! I have such a fear of singing in front of people, and she helped me face that fear and get on the road to conquering it. She totally understood where I was coming from and worked with my specific skill level and ability. I always felt comfortable with her and had fun! She knew how to challenge me and push me to meet my goals, and I am so happy that I found her!

I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the University of Redlands in 2011 (which I attended on a music talent scholarship), and am now an active performer in Los Angeles, CA. I have been tutoring and teaching privat
I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, and I could never live without it!
With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having FUN doing it!

With a BA from London's Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Crystal has appeared in over 50 plays. She teaches the technical and creative skills necessary for acting on the stage.
Crystal hails originally from Los Angeles, CA - where her musical parents gave her a head start by including her in the family business the moment she was able to contribute. She went on to study classical voice, piano and music theory at The Boston Conservatory of Music. After concluding her studies in London, she returned home and began working regularly as a theater performer, appearing in twen
Crystal believes that music is serious business but that it should be fun. She encourages her students to play music they love, as well as expanding their musical knowledge. She is a firm believer in basics first and emphasizes theory and technique as the tools to support creativity and provide freedom, power and control. She believes effort beats talent every time and the student who practices consistently will see results, whatever their level of ability. Most of all, she believes we were all born to make music.

Crystal has increased my daughterâs self-esteem and expressiveness through song. My daughter is now writing her own poetry and song lyrics, as well as being able to combat her once shyness quality. She loves to perform in front of others now and has a confidence level that amazes me, especially now that she is going into those âteenâ years. I think a lot of thanks needs to go to Crystal, for assisting my daughter in reaching her current creative level!

Crystal is an amazing piano instructor. She is patient, understanding and dedicated. My daughter has learned so much from her. My daughterâs love for music has increased immensely since learning how to play the piano. This would never have been able to be accomplished without Crystalâs professional and caring teaching style.

Learn how to bring YOU to the role. Everything you need to "create a character" lies within yourself, and I'd love to help you uncover that.
While at Elon I worked as a teacher's assistant for two years where I specialized in and began instructing the Meisner technique.
Duties as a teacher's assistant: coaching in-class work (repetitions, activities, monologues, and scenes), providing private coaching for students with whatever they needed assistance in, grading and reviewing students.
While at Elon University I also trained in Stanislavsky, Acting for the Camera, Shakespeare, Improv, and Voice (Skinner technique, Fitzmaurice) and Movement (Laban and Alexander techniques, BMC [Body-Mind Centering], and Yoga).
I've studied abroad in Arezzo, Italy, where I studied Commedia dell'Arte and Physical Theatre, and I've also studied under actress Marilyn

I have been teaching and coaching actors for 20 years. My students work professionally on stage, TV and film. Within the first few lessons, you will understand how to create a character. Soon, you will have the skills to book a role. I specialize in method acting, but draw upon my experience at The Second City (improvisation) in Chicago and other training I have had. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels; I can't wait to meet you!
I can help with your audition for performing arts high schools in NYC. My students have gotten into the schools of their choice.
If you have training or are a working actor, I can help take you to the next level.
I am a working actor, published playwright and award winning filmmaker. I graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where I majored in drama. Currently, I am faculty member at Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. I teach Method Acting, Acting for Camera, Improvi
Acting is the art of bringing a character to life. I use the Lee Strasberg Method, my original exercises and a fun and serious demeanor to help actors express themselves as artists and gain the confidence and skills they need in order to book acting jobs.
My book, "The Young Actor's Handbook", is published by Applause Theatre and Cinema Books. "The Young Actor's Handbook" ignites the beginning actor's creative soul with acting exercises, acting theory, writing exercises and insight into what it means to be an actor. This is a pragmatic manual that guides and informs the young actor, beginning actor, novice acting teacher or anyone who wants to understand acting.
"Jeremy Kruse's book, "The Young Actor’s Handbook", leads the young actor on the correct path. Jeremy is an experienced acting teacher who has broken down acting in an academic way while nurturing the soul of the actor. He understands the emotional aspects of good acting. I commend Jeremy and believe he has accomplished quite a feat in writing "The Young Actors Handbook." - Vincent D'Onofrio

I have experience as a union actress, as a film director, producer and I have done over 10 casting sessions so I know an actor's strengths and weaknesses and how they should improve, prepare for a role, work on an actor's palate (voice and body), can teach audition techiniques, building a character, scene study, improvisation etc.
I teach a bit from all acting methodologies - Stanislavsky, Lee Strasberg, Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, etc. My teaching style is more eclectic. I also emphasize Shakespeare and classical theatre training or plays. I train actors to use their imaginations and instincts. Essentially, I help actors play and have fun. A play is called a play because you "play"!
I am also a black martial artist and can teach actors combat and basic fight scenes for film. I produce my own action film series so I have experience with how an actor should prepare for a fight scene.
I am a film producer, director, actress, writer, black belt martial artist. I have directed many actors in 10 films, had over 10 casting sessions with actors auditioning, performed with many actors in film and theatre and am a union actress.
My goal with a student is to help them trust their imagination, experience, instinct and emotion in preparing material for professional acting oppportunities.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and earned an MFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
I have been working as a professional actor since 2011 and TakeLessons is a great way for me to help other aspiring artists with their craft as they try to navigate the ups and downs of being a professional actor.
Whether you need help preparing sides for an upcoming audition or in-depth character and script analysis to sharpen your work before you head to the set or rehearsal hall, I got you covered.
My primary goal as a teacher is to help you find your unique, emotionally connection to the material by guiding you toward your instincts - trusting them - and encouraging a deeper level of specificity and honest simplicity in your work.
Hello, my name is Ricky. I have studied acting for 10 years and I've been working professionally for 5 years. I have my BFA in Acting from Cal State Fullerton, where I was taught by Russian Master Acting Teacher Svetlana Efremova. I am trained in Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, Michael Chekhov, Meisner and Shakespeare. I'm also well trained in voice & movement, comedy and script analysis.
I frequently work in regional theatre including: South Coast Repertory, MainStreet Theatre Company, Coeurage Theatre and Rogue Artists Ensemble.
As a teacher, I make personal growth my main focus. I find that so many actors try to revolve their life around acting that they forget acting revolves around life. So much of what we know in acting all stems from personal experiences and our individual truth. I believe as you discover more about yourself, you discover more about the art of acting. I teach the Stanislavski method - "living truthfully in imaginary circumstances." However, I also use Uta Hagen as ...
I find that so many actors spend too much time revolving their life around acting they forget that acting revolves around life.
I believe that the most interesting thing in this industry is YOU. Who are YOU? There is no one else in this profession with your experience, your depth and your talent. You are unique. I've learned this over the years attending open calls 3-5 times a week and submitting self tapes too many times to count. I've had the pleasure of frequently working in regional theatre including: South Coast Repertory, MainStreet Theatre Company, Coeurage Theatre Company and Rogue Artists Ensemble. I'm still learning from day to day. The education of this profession never ends and it never should. There is always more to discover and there is always more room to grow. That is what makes this industry so exciting and fulfilling, despite the many obstacles that will stand in your way.
Join me on the journey and lets discover what makes you unique!
