About Marsha
The Recital was fabulous- thanks for all your work.

Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.

Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.

I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!

It is a great week when students are nearly all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.

Perhaps you are reading
this with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for your or your student can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy which can assist you make an informed decision. If we are a good fit, lessons and learning progress more joyfully.

I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.

You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.

*** Lesson Details ***
In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.

We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.

What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.

Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.

*** Travel Equipment ***
No travel.

*** Specialties ***
Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.

About Kelvin
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis.
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc....
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

About Justin
After studying at Drexel University and securing a B.S. in Information Technology with a Minor in English Literature, I studied for a Master's in Digital Media at Drexel University. As an undergraduate I was given the honor of acting as the commencement speaker for my school. As an MS graduate, I earned the Outstanding Master's award for my research and community contributions.

Drexel's professors and leadership supported my growth as a professional by hiring me on as an Adjunct Professor of Digital Media where I taught game design, project management, and 3D animation. I also served as a committee member to several graduate students. I've recently entered the games industry as a designer, embarking on a year-long game engineer position with Disney. I'm most rewarded when I provide mentorship to those who want to learn. I look forward
to working with you!

I wrote a review when my son first started working with Justin and a few months later I must say the experience continues to be exceptional. Justing puts so much thought into preparing for his lessons. He pays attention to what works best with my son's learning style and personality and is able to shift gears when necessary. He is extremely knowledgeable and not only recommends resources but answers questions via email between sessions. My son is feeling much more confident and has started to read books and articles on game design. I was so impressed that I started working with Justin as well. He has been an excellent HTML and CSS tutor and I am not at all a techie. I can't recommend him enough!

My son took his first online computer programming lesson with Justin yesterday. He had been trying to learn to code/make video games on his own but was finding it difficult to determine where to focus his energies. The lesson with Justin exceeded his expectations. He feels focussed and learned more in his first session than he has in the few weeks he has been trying on his own. I was impressed with Justin's prompt response to my initial inquiry which went out to several tutors. From his response it was clear that Justin had put a lot of thought into his response. He asked follow up questions was able to clearly articulate how he could address my sons needs. He put the same thought an energy into preparing the first lesson which he shared with us prior to the session. My son is looking forward to continuing to work with Justin. We will definitely be booking more lessons.

About Lesley
Hey there! Thanks for reading my profile! I am so excited to work with you and share my passion for creating custom items through sewing! I got my first machine when I was nine years old! It was instant joy! I love teaching! I love sharing tricks and helping others make their dream projects come true. As a mom and grandma I have enjoyed teaching my own kids to sew. I also work as a Birth Doula (coaching) and substitute teacher.

I have owned my own in-home sewing business where I performed wedding alterations, general alterations and custom sewing. My greatest love is to instruct students in the art of quilting and sewing. The accomplishment of a student's successfully finished project is such a highlight!

As a mother of twelve (* seven boys and five girls) I have created 75% of my families wardrobe as well as quilts, gifts, diapers
, jackets, pillows, purses, backpacks, workout wear, couch slip covers, curtains, toys, dolls...etc, There is nothing so satisfying then the ability to create something unique that you love. Let's get started on your next project!

Leslie is extremely knowledgeable and expert. She's very patient and kind making her students feel comfortable as they learn the ins-and-outs of sewing. My daughter didn't know anything about sewing but now she feels very comfortable breaking out her sewing machine and taking on fun projects.
