Let me start off by saying that math is my FAVORITE subject! In these tutoring sessions, you will receive help with homework, prepare for tests and quizzes, and better your overall understanding of math. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good work ethic.

About Jessie
Thank you for your interest in lessons! I hope to help you achieve your goals and improve your skills, whether you're looking for music lessons, help in math, or need someone to proofread your essay before you turn it in. Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to their individual needs. Each of my students prospers in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career, and the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of knowledge that will always enrich their lives.

I have been tutoring and teaching private lessons for over five years, and currently have over 40 active students. I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the Unive
rsity of Redlands in 2011, and my Associate of Arts degree in 2008 from College of the Desert. I teach online, locally, and at my studio, and cover a variety of subjects such as voice, music, theater, piano, math, english, music theory, just to name a few.

For academic tutoring (i.e. math, theory, vocabulary) I work on helping the student understand their homework and help prepare them for tests. I can also provide worksheets if necessary and am prepared to demonstrate problem areas in different ways if needed, because everyone learns differently. For voice, piano, music, and acting lessons I teach the student based on what their current level is. If you have no experience, that's okay! My lessons are uniquely designed to fit your needs no matter what level you may be.

As a music major I developed a deeper understanding of music theory, piano, voice, and theater. I received my A.A. in Music at College of the Desert and my Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Redlands- which I attended on a music scholarship. I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, because performing is a part of who I am and I could never live without it!

With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having fun doing it!

*Note: My home office has a lot of stairs and two cats. If you are disabled or have a feline allergy, please consider in-home lessons or lessons online.

I make math fun and explain it in terms that are understandable. Very patient and compassionate and thorough.

About Fawn
"Make one stop at the music shop!"
Fawn is not your typical music coach. As a recent Billboard hit recording artist & coaching 21 years, Fawn immediately gets to your goals & together you reach them. What you learn becomes part of you & that's the key to success. Whether you're beginner, advanced, special needs, have a short term issue, long term issue or even damaged vocal chords, whatever your situation, Fawn can handle it all successfully :) Not just in voice, but also in any difficult musical area including songwriting, performance, recording, piano & more.

In Los Angeles, Fawn is the music and entertainment industry's coach known as the one who "gets the job done." Clients have included Grammy and Oscar winners as well as vocalists and actors from The Voice, American Idol, Disney, America's Got Talent, Nickelodeon, X-Factor an
d many others. She has been producing music and vocals in the recording studio, coaching voice, piano, songwriting, rap writing, performance, studio, jazz, blues, classical, pop and artist development for the past 20 years. She was operatically trained by Juilliard instructor Sylvia Bagley, trained as a jazz singer at world re-known Berklee College of Music, where she won several songwriting awards, and was R & B/Pop trained by Vocal Coach To The Stars, Seth Riggs. In 2010 she had a #6 Billboard hit dance song, which she wrote and sang and 2 top 10 hits in 2016. She has written, recorded and performed songs in several different languages for a variety of films, television shows, and commercials such as Nickelodeon's Hollywood Heights, The Natalee Holloway Story, Spike Lee Productions, Barbie, Ponds, Target, Ford, Mazda, Pontiac, The Guiding Light, The Young and The Restless. MTV and several others. Fawn has also sung, written and played in many different styles from Jazz/Blues to Classical to Pop to children's to Opera.

Fawn is a very fun, yet honest and straight-forward coach. She loves working with adults and children, and considers lessons a 'team effort to reach her students' goals. Being that music and the entertainment business are her career and life, she is current and relevant, yet has plenty of old school training to be well rounded and help students build a strong foundation. Music and the entertainment business are her life, and she loves helping people reach their goals and meet their dreams. She has released 5 albums, several singles, won numerous awards and worked with such talents as Grammy winners Lalah Hathaway and Paula Cole, Meredith Brooks, Vampire Diaries Kat Grahm, BT, Jeff Goldblum, Right Said Fred, Ed Townsend, QD3, Club Nuveau's Val Watson, Robbie Benson and shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Carol Channing, Kevin Sorbo, Pink, Joss Stone, David Guetta, Katy Perry, Moby, Dionne Warwick, James Torme', David Foster, Thelma Houston, David Pomeranz, War and countless others. She has also worked with Kevin Costner, Alexandra Paul, David Marshall Grant, Florence Henderson, Jay Leno, Hulk Hogan, Darryl Hannah, Tommy Lee, Martin Lawrence, Magic Johnson, Pamela Anderson, Jermaine Dupri, Rae Dawn Chong, Eva Longoria, Joan Rivers, Erik Estrada, John Amos, and others appearing with them in film, TV and benefits for worthy causes.

Over the years, Fawn has been known to bring students into her inner circle, so they can gain more experience and exposure, taking them to red carpets, events and even putting them up onstage to perform. She remembers having piano, voice and songwriting coaches, and being frustrated in voice because instructors were not addressing issues that needed to be addressed. This is why she creates a positive and comfortable, safe environment so students can open up and progress quickly. Fawn moves straight to the heart of the matter and gets whatever needs work figured out, so students can move on to what their goals and dreams are. She has helped actors be able to sing parts for their TV shows, helped popular bands be able to have good stage performances and presence with precision dancing and singing and has helped vocalists find their true voice. She is able to get piano students as young as 5 to a high-level Concerto level of playing with in 3 years, completely reading the pieces on their own. The youngest person she has ever taught was 3 years old and blind. The oldest person she has ever taught so far taught was 89 years old, after suffering a stroke. She was able to help her get her voice back within 20 minutes of her first lesson. Fawn also does vocal rehabilitation, vocal therapy, and music therapy. She has worked with special needs children with Downs Syndrome, ADHD, ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pit Hopkins Disease and more. As far as being a songwriter, Fawn generally writes words and music at the same time but she has also written lyrics and music separately, as well as composed instrumental pieces. Fawn trained with Pat Pattison and Grammy winning Lyricist Marty Panzer in lyric writing and she is a master at producing, recording and editing vocals, and is happy to help you with your recording projects, as she owns Terrace Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA.

Fawn truly cares about my progress and helping me succeed. I never thought I would be able to change my voice, my audience impact and stage presence, but she made that happen. It was surprisingly not so difficult because she is great at troubleshooting and figuring out solutions to get you where you need to be. She will even invent new exercises and do whatever it takes to get you to be the best you. I am always excited to work with Fawn, she keeps me in check and keeps me moving forward.

Fawn is humble, honest, compassionate, talented and kind. I didn't have the best childhood, growing up away from my parents and living with other relatives who never believed in celebrating holidays or birthdays. With the winter holidays upon us, Fawn asked me if I wanted to sing any Chanukah or Christmas songs. When I explained to her my childhood situation, she said that made her a little sad and how did I feel about "re-branding" the holiday season? She told me that I could have a "do-over" at any time, any day, any moment of my life. I had never thought of it that way. So we are currently re-branding Christmas for me and it has been really exciting and fun! One of the things she suggested I do is get a group of my friends together to sing Carols and Chanukkah songs and visit a convalescent home. I am super excited to do this! Not only can I talk to Fawn about anything, she is a terrific vocal coach. My voice has become stronger and I have more control. My friends all tell me I sound way better and completely different (in a good way) then before! You will love her. You'll love your progress and Fawn.

I've had 7 lessons with Fawn so far. I am eight years old I've been wanting to do singing for a long time. My dad looked for young girl teachers and he read reviews. Reading Fawn's, he thought she would be the perfect match for me. She has really helped me with my voice, teaching me to time my breath correctly, stay on pitch, etc. She is very positive and helpful, because that is who she is. She is very encouraging and has constructive things to guide me. She IS my perfect match.

About Clifford
'Dr. Cliff,' a part-time college/university professor, teacher and tutor with 5 master's and 3 doctoral degrees in a variety of topics: Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, MBA, Leadership, Education and Administration. He has always used proven educational techniques to instruct undergraduate students, graduate students and school children/teenagers (K-12). Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students
and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

I understand how important an effective tutor can be. This is especially true when it comes to mathematics. The only reason I have had such an interest in math and why i am now working on my math major is because of a tutor i had back in 7th grade. She was working with me and 2 other students that were mathematically inclined, and from that point on i understood how important it was to have a good tutor. when it comes to mahematics, every step is crucial if you want to keep learning, amd i understand this more than anyone.

About Viktor
I've been there: cramming for the next test, not understanding something no matter how much I study it, at times it seems hopeless. I now understand how having an effective and experienced tutor can be the key to having an approach to schooling that is both effective and satisfying for both the student and parent. I've been through it, I understand it, and now with the knowledge I have gained I have been helping people achieve their academic goals in a fun and painless way.

Hello! My name is Jessica! I have tutored math for about 7 years, and would be delighted to work with your student. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions; I would love to hear from you!!

About Jessica
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, and am working toward a Master of Teaching in Mathematics at University of Virginia in Charlottesville. I have been teaching and tutoring for about 7 years now, and I guess something is going right in our sessions; all my students are highly successful, I'm such a proud teacher. I would love for your student to be one of them! Please do not hesitate to reach out even if it's just to ask questions; I would love to hear from you!!

I am qualified to teach/tutor such subjects as mathematics (any through calculus; anything beyond that I would need to review and have no trouble doing so), also writing, chemistry, physics, music theory, general music, and SAT prep (predominantly mathematics). I have a private piano and clarinet studio, and though space
is limited, I would love for you to join it.

***It is worth mentioning that I currently live in Charlottesville as I finish up the coursework in my program. Unfortunately because of that, I can only accept students virtually if you're not local for me. I do have much experience with virtual lessons, so please do not hesitate to try it out. I will be moving back to Northern Virginia one year from now to do my student-teaching, so in-person lessons can happen if you can be patient and bear with me. Again, I would love to hear from you and hope to get the chance to work with your student.

I've worked with all levels of understanding and development, and like to create an environment where the student can feel free to ask questions and use real world examples. Math can truly be fun when you understand it!

About Maggie
I graduated from Furman University in May of 2016, with a major in Computing and Applied Mathematics. I tutored at high schools all throughout my college years, as well as being hired by the college to teach my peers in lower math classes. Following graduation, I became a home school teacher for a few families in the Bradenton area, with children ranging from elementary all the way up to high school. Although I am especially experienced in math, I have taught in all common core subjects. I love working one on one with kids-- there is a real opportunity for them to ask questions and integrate learning with whatever method works best for them and keeps them engaged.

I am now currently enrolled in my second year at dental school in Bradenton, Florida, and have found a great way to integrate my mathematical education. I love that I am st
ill able to tutor and keep the teaching passion of mine alive while I attend school.

I love to work with math students of all ages, ranging anywhere from early elementary to collegiate level. Although I teach Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 most commonly, there are few levels of math I am uncomfortable with. I love to help students make math applicable-- starting with simple problems and working up to multi-step. Through questions and examples, we can create a formula that works best for you. Every student's learning style is slightly different and I have found fun ways to accommodate this. I want to instill confidence and knowledge in my students! I know we can do it!

Maggie home schooled my 10 year old daughter this past year and was fabulous. Great teacher, very reliable, and a joy to have around.

Best tutor I've had so far. I've tried a lot because math never makes sense to me, but with Maggie I pulled my grade up from a D- to a B which none of the others could do. She was actually one of the least expensive ones I tried and was definitely worth the price. She was very patient and had really good explanations. She really helped me catch up from being so behind. Plus, I normally hate asking questions but she makes it pretty comfortable so I definitely recommend her.

About Noah
Hi there! In the past, I have acted as a tutor/teacher in all sorts of situations. Whether it be tutoring students that needed help at my high school to helping out my friends on their homework or even teaching my own Sunday School class in high school. I don't just tutor to make money, I tutor because I love the things I am teaching and I love to see the breakthrough in a student when they understand the thing they are studying. I have plenty of experience tutoring students and am 100% confident that I will be able to help my students improve their grades and more importantly, learn something new!

I am able to teach mathematics in different ways that will benefit the student. The experience I have with mathematics will give the student the opportunity to do math faster than anyone else.

About Alberto
I graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology and Spanish. I was a student-athlete throughout my education so I know what it means to work hard and efficient without making any excuses. Being a top student has proven to me that anyone can do great in their studies.

I was fortunate enough to play college football and witness some of my good teammates go Pro with their determination and hard work. I, myself, decided to teach and help other prosper and make their talents, skills and abilities flourish to do and become into someone important in the world.

Students are expected to learn every learning session. The students will understand and successfully complete all needed assignments. I want to be able to understand what the students know so that we can work on what is needed and become great at it.

I believe that we are all smart and
our craft, our intelligence, can always be expanded into something much more valuable. i believe that learning should be something fun that we all want to do and not feel like it is being done only because it is mandatory. Having learning sessions will me will teach that learning is the most important thing in becoming successful.

I want everyone of you to become successful and become someone big. Make a difference in life with whatever ours skills are. Someone out there needs us in their company, team, etc.. Up for the challenge? Be the smartest student in every single subject.
