he really helped me when I needed it and I want him to be a friend when I get older but I know that makes no sense because I'm young maybe I'll still keep learning from him by the time I get to college and I know this is not necessary Eminem basically saying is that I want you to be forever so that I can continue learning from him

Finding a good physics teacher/tutor, for some odd reason, is perhaps more challenging than physics itself. Physics is actually quite fun when you have someone who can effectively communicate the more complex and counter-intuitive truths about the way our universe works.

As a physics tutor, my job is not to show off how much I know, but rather it's to help you find your understanding of the material and become great at it yourself. I do this by 1) not assuming you should "just know" how to properly set up a particular problem 2) not expecting you to "just get" why a particular phenomenon is the way it is 3) by asking you questions about what may be confusing or counter-intuitive, and using various approaches to explaining it until we find the one that works for your unique way of thinking about physical laws and properties.

I needed to prepare for a college statistics course and was pretty nervous because I have been out of school for quite some time. I was incredibly fortunate to find Colin as a math/statistics tutor. Besides being highly knowledgable, Colin is quite keen on how to explain topics in a way that fits how I learn. Not to mention, he is very good at plugging in short mini-lessons on algebra and basic math to refresh my memory on some of this stuff. Overall, Colin is patient, friendly and an amazing teacher. Highly recommend!

Colin is a great math tutor. My daughter, who is very shy, made an instant connection with Colin after her very first lesson with him. He is extremely thorough and takes the time to ensure she understands the math concepts. He has not only built her confidence but has made math more enjoyable for her to learn. He is very patient and it is obvious that he loves to teach. If you are looking for a great teacher - I highly recommend Colin.

I love teaching physics because I have always been a scientist at heart, from making trebuchets in the attic, to forcing a thermometer into boiling water to see if it passes 100 degrees centigrade before evaporating, in order to confirm the laws of the physical states of matter. I love spreading my love of physics to others, because it makes me happy when I can have elaborate conversations about simple machines with random individuals. In order to have those conversations, I must first break physics down to a level in which others can easily grasp its concepts. I do this by applying concept decomposition, which is explaining the theory behind all of the abstract formulas and laws that riddle classical physics. Let's stop letting physics surprise us, and let's surprise it when you ace your electrostatics test, and 'Flummox Physics'.

About Amadou

I am a distinguished graduate from Illinois Tech with a bachelor's of mechanical engineering. I make it my duty to break down many of the complexities in math, science and engineering that have been plaguing students since the beginning of time. I have over 10 years of teaching experience teaching

With about 13 years of experience as a Physics Teacher, one of my passions in life is the opportunity to share knowledge constantly, as well as, to help individuals eager to improve even when some details appear to be insignificant. At the age of 19, I formally started working as a professor of Exact Sciences at the Stephen W. Hawking Institute in Ecuador, my home country. We all should be determined to find an objective/career that would be our passion and reflects our life goal as well. This perspective encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone to move to USA thanks to an Ecuadorian scholarship which financed the commencement of my journey in Environmental Eng. focusing on Nanotechnology at Vincennes Univ. IN. There, I had a training at different Departments as a STEM, English and Spanish tutor; which eventually, gave me the chance to learn about the teaching-learning process of Higher Level Physics Classes from Basic Classes as General Physics I (included Lab.) ,to Physics for ...

I am a Science teacher besides my experience as an English and Spanish tutor, about 13 years of experience in this field. I graduated from Vincennes University with an Associate Degree in Environmental and Ecological Engineering. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor Degree in Environmental Enginee

Elizabeth has been a fantastic Spanish instructor. Not only does she provide the basics for grammar but also context for when and where expressions are used, which is just as useful as learning the technical language. She’s also been extremely accommodating if I’ve had to change the schedule, so I would definitely recommend Elizabeth for anyone looking for help brushing up or starting Spanish for the first time!

Elizabeth is nice. However, she is unreliable. She no called/no showed on our first lesson. We decided to give her another chance. Her instruction was ok, if unable to veer from her planned lesson. Then, she again no called/no showed on us.
Chad
Instructor was very patient while I was having difficulties with the video chat.

"Excellent tutor! Daniel tutored my 13 year old son in Physics. My son went from being completely lost to getting an A in the class. Very professional, explains topics clearly, connects well with student. My son loved the Skype/online white board method of teaching. No need to go anywhere or sit in traffic. Daniel was flexible with setting up lessons and even made time when urgently needed, like before a test. My son had a great experience and can't wait to learn with Daniel again when he gets to HS physics."

"Over the last six months, Daniel has been tutoring me on and off for my intro to physics course. I do not have a strong background in science or math, but Daniel was always able to explain everything clearly and in detail. He knows how to answer your questions and really works hard to make sure you understand the material. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for help."

"I have been doing tutoring with William for a couple weeks now and he is amazing at guiding me through the bumpy road of AP Physics. Although communication means can be a bit difficult since I was a newbie to the whole "online tutoring" thing, I realized that it was worth the struggle. Before, I had very little knowledge on the subject and did not understand most of what I was doing. William was very patient and explained every step to getting the solution on the endless problems I gave him, plus he knew every answer without even thinking twice! Even though I have a very tight schedule, he is super understanding about my constant changes in tutoring times. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a very polite and helpful tutor for physics!!!"

"I feel compelled to share a great “find” I made last year. School had only been in session for two weeks before my kids came home lamenting that their AP Physics teacher left them totally confused and stressed out. Switching to a less demanding schedule wasn’t an option so I decided to look for some help. Lord knows, it wasn’t going to come from me or my husband! I found Daniel, a 2012 UCLA engineering grad who has been tutoring for many years. After the boys’ first meeting with him, the level of stress in our household plummeted and the boys did well on their first physics test. They ended up with A's in the class and doing well on the AP exam. We’ve decided to have him come regularly, just to make sure the boys understand the material and keep them confident. Daniel is able to help them with anything they don’t get in their calculus class as well.
So as you stare the next school year in the face, if your child has any difficulty with their studies, especially in math or physics, consider talking to Daniel. He’s a lovely young man and the boys really responded to him well."
