In a world full of chaos the challenge is to find a practice that helps you calmly balance your physical & emotional being that you can instantly use anywhere. We will explore and personalize tools intended to help you calmly energize yourself using techniques utilized by singers, actors and public speakers to conquer stage fright & audition nerves.

Briefly, my method for teaching meditation practice is simple and straight forward with focus on a very specific breath exercise with the intent to pull all our physical and mental focus to a central point, helping to distract our 'less quiet' self into being a bit more quiet. Although I do practice yoga, this meditation style is not focused on doing stretches or memorizing poses. The sessions are personalized to each individual's needs, meaning you can meditate from the couch, a comfy chair, or the floor in full lotus position. My environment is optimized for visual beauty and comfort in order to provide a welcoming and nurturing space

Excellent first voice lesson. Jillian is warm, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. I was surprised how many "technical" issues she introduced me to (optimal breathing & how best to practice it at home; appropriate use of falsetto at upper limit of bass voice range, etc.) . Looking forward to continued lessons. (Much better use of what used to be my copay for psychotherapy! I've also joined rehearsals with new Encore-NYC chorale group in Manhattan, for people over 55. Music is giving me a real emotional lift in my retirement.)

I have studied and practiced mindfulness-awareness meditation in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition for 11+ years. Currently, I teach beginning meditation instruction, open house talks and contemplative arts programs/weekends, as a member of the Baltimore Shambhala Meditation Center.

In the last 6 years, I have also studied and practiced Reiki, intuitive/energetic healing, and astrology extensively. Depending on the interest and needs of the student, I can draw on and incorporate any of these modalities.

I've been meditating since early childhood, and healed myself of severe chronic illness, hyper-hypoglycemia (a form of diabetes) and broken vertebrae (drug free) through my intuitively-developed meditative practice, "Internal Alchemy". I'm also practiced in various Taoist and Yogic meditation styles as well as Tibetan Buddhist Tonglan, Burmise Buddhist Vipassana, and Zen Buddhist Zazen. These traditional practices are also invaluable tools, that can utilized throughout life. Students learn proficiency in the meditative style(s) that best address his/her/hir current intention

I went to Tamara for Yoga to just feel more present and to become more flexible, but I got so much more. A problem with my neck and shoulder I had for so many years that I forgot it was always there , is now gone. It was locked up for years & it's now loose. It gets stiff on occasion, and when it does I now know how to release it. And it works! It took time and practice, but it got there! It's more like a therepeutic, transcendental session of magic wherein I'm learning how to do the magic on my own. So good!

Meditation is an excellent tool for any person to use to help conquer their anxiety, de-stress after/during a hard day, center oneself, get in touch with ones spirituality, become more relaxed on a day to day basis, and achieve ones dreams! I will teach students about mindfulness not only in meditation but in their every day lives. I will guide students through short guided meditations at first, and gradually help them get comfortable with doing longer meditations. I will also give students the tools they need to continue practicing meditation when they are away from me. Over time, our sessions will be a great opportunity for students to describe their meditation journeys and to figure out how a student can further progress and reach their new and more-advance meditation goals.
