I began knitting when I was twelve years old; I sat beside my neighbor, Mrs. Turner, and listened to her stories while I watched her wooden straight needles move expertly along, clacking-clacking in counterpoint to the crackling of the wood in the corner stove. Mrs. Turner had a laid back approach to teaching knitting. The point of knitting wasn't simply to produce a useful item: it was to enjoy the process. If you made a mistake, just unmake it and try again. The worst that could happen was you would end up with two sticks and some string.
When you're twelve, life is filled with drama. Knitting was not. It has always been a meditative, nurturing retreat. There have been times in my life when I've knitted more, times when I've knitted less. But the lessons I learned from knitting have served me well over the years: patience, perseverance, and keeping it all in perspective.
I'd love to share this craft with someone else. Come, learn to knit and see what else you might learn ...
About Maureen
I have been knitting for more than 35 years, and was taught by a neighbor when I was 12 years old. I found it fascinating and rewarding to transform something disorganized (a ball of yarn) into something purposeful and beautiful. As I grew up, and my world expanded, I found the world of fiber was

Go at your own pace and have fun are my knitting mottos! I teach continental style knitting and have been teaching beginners to knit for over 5 years. Together we'll experience the excitement that comes when you cast on something new, learn a new stich, or finish a favorite project.
I'm can start with the basics (cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch) or jump straight into helping on a project you have planned (or started and got stuck on? don't worry - it happens to all of us!). There is no limit to the kind or number of projects we can do. I have plenty of project ideas and am always happy to help with your ideas, too.
About Nicole
My grandmother taught me to knit when I was 11 years old, and after taking a few years off I picked up the hobby again in my 20s. Now in my 30s I am an avid knitter - there are always several projects on my needles (I need one I can travel with, one I can do while watching TV, and usually one I'm m

Hi! My name is Avalon. I have my bachelors degree in fashion design and I’ve been making clothes for almost 10 years but I’ve been passionate about fashion for as long as I can remember. I started teaching kids how to sew one summer and I’ve been in love with it ever since. I have experience in both pattern making and draping and I own my own business where I make custom designs for customers. I am comfortable teaching students at all levels, so feel free to reach out.

Welcome to a new experience of knowledge transfer on a warm environment of friendship.
I will be your guide and partner on this exciting experience of bringing yarn to life by crocheting dolls. I will teach you crochet techniques and how to read and understand amigurumi patterns on a variety of languages including english, spanish and some portuguese notations (russian and german is a work in progress).
I totally agree with the idea of self-learning (I did so) as a way on achieving and improving your crocheting goals by following online text, pictures and videos. But I love to think about you as a friend on top of a student, human to human relationships empowers learning and enrichen our souls and hearts.
My main goal is to shorten and soften your learning journey by getting together to share some good quality time while having some social chat about general-interest topics like Disney's parks, Netflix series, latinamerican culture, spanish language and such.
About Karina
In a time where we're all in a hurry going nowhere and everywhere at the same time, being so busy on top of ourselves and constantly being pulled out of reality and humanity by our smartphones. I've found really comforting spending some time on crocheting dolls, I've got bedazzled by the amigurumi
