Let me start off by saying that math is my FAVORITE subject! In these tutoring sessions, you will receive help with homework, prepare for tests and quizzes, and better your overall understanding of math. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good work ethic.
Thank you for your interest in lessons! I hope to help you achieve your goals and improve your skills, whether you're looking for music lessons, or help in math. Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to their individual needs. Each of my students prosper in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career, and the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of knowledge that will enrich their lives.
I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the University of Redlands in 2011 (which I attended on a music talent scholarship), and am now an active performer in Los Angeles, CA. I have been tutoring and teaching privat
e lessons for almost 10 years, and currently have over 40 active students.
I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Tales of Hoffmann, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, and I could never live without it!
With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having FUN doing it!

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

I am an avid observer of details which helps me determine the student's strengths. My classes are fun as playing a game! I am also a Therapeutic Mentor in Catholic Charities. In order to be accepted I had to get a full background check because I deal with very special and unique children.

My professional architecture internships(TFA,K-RML,AJLA)Sports background and interactions with my nephews and nieces allowed me to use visual and Verbal ques in lessons.Math and Physics can be fun for you.
I've been teaching Pre Algebra for 7 years. I strive to show students the beauty behind mathematics and encourage them to enjoy it. I work with students at their own pace with the main focus being on developing the confidence to be able to understand what questions are asking and how to solve problems. I prefer to spend the first two lessons testing a student's confidence, strengths, and weaknesses before I select the teaching materials. I cannot wait to help you reach your math goals!
I am a Ph.D. student in Statistics and earned a Bachelor's in mathematics from St. Norbert College in 2016. I have been tutoring for over 10 years now, starting with a my work as a Program Staff at the local Boy's and Girl's Club. Now I just enjoy working with students one-on-one and in small groups.
I love teaching and plan on being a professor after finishing my Ph.D. Further, I am trying to develop classes that students will enjoy and be able to take with them. I hate when I hear people say that they hated stats or math because of this class they had when they were younger. My goal is to change that by creating a learning system that is enjoyable and efficient.
Math doesn't need to be hard, you can understand it and even have fun with it! Algebra is my favorite subject and one that I have been tutoring for several years. While I aim for comprehension over scores, grades typically improve with comprehension. In each tutoring session, you can choose to receive homework help, test preparation, or extra practice that I can supply.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University in 2012. Since graduating, I have tutored various subjects with Varsity Tutors (online platform) and have tutored both in person and online for learners ranging from elementary age to adults working towards a Masters degree.
I serve as the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) NDSU section Counselor, a position I volunteered for in 2014, providing a link between college engineering students and the professional world. Other volunteer work includes teaching sessions at Expanding Your Horizons. This is an event to introduce middle school girls to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
Ashley strives to deliver the best learning environment possible working with each student individually on a case by case basis. You can really tell she wants you to succeed and is ready to accommodate most student's schedules. Ashley really tries hard to make things work and most importantly treats everyone with an upfront honesty, not often seen in today's society.
Algebra doesn't have to be stressful and boring! I possess the necessary competence to better your overall understanding of algebra, prepare for quizzes and tests and help you with homework.

I love Junia's teaching style, she is very thorough and helps you understand why you are doing and saying what! I have learned so much during the few online live classes that I have taken with her. My name is Milka. I have 5 years of tutoring experience in the sciences and math! I am eager to share my love for science with whomever I tutor. Growing up I have experienced teachers teach a simple topic in a complex way hence, confusing a lot of their students. My aim is to teach in a way that would make students fall in love with the subject rather then scare them away.
My name is Milka. I have been tutoring for about 8 years now. I am an MB3 (Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics and Biochemistry) Major. I believe students learn science by doing science, and that my classes are a medium through which my students will learn life skills that are critical for their success in college and future careers. As our students must be prepared to work cooperatively in a global and technological society where many of them will eventually hold jobs that do not yet exist, I emphasize critical thinking and problem solving, using our science content to develop good evidence-based reasoning and communication skills.
She helped my daughter with all of her exams! Thank you Ms. Milka! You are truly a gift!
