About Jenny
Music
Jenny comes from a very musical family and started piano when she was five years old. She grew up constantly listening to her father practicing his guitar and brother practicing violin. Since then, her accomplishments include an Honorable Mention at the Korea Times Youth Music Competition. She has performed in two solo recitals and has performed biannually with the Beverly Hills Chamber Orchestra. Jenny has participated in the Frederic Chopin Felix Mendelssohn Minifest 2005 and has regularly performed at the Colburn School of Performing Arts from 2003 - 2008. Jenny was also a part of the Goldcoast Chamber Music Festival and was awarded the second prize at the Chamber Music Walker Competition. She has excellent communication skills and has worked as an assistant to the Program Coordinator at Montecito Summer Music Festival while al
so participating as a performer. In addition to her musical abilities, Jenny has received many academic honors as well. She is a member of the Agoura High Chapter of the California Scholarship and is also on the Dean’s List at the University of Southern California. She graduated from USC with a BA in Music and emphasis on Piano.

Jenny started teaching neighborhood kids while she was in high school and has continued to inspire her students throughout her academic studies. She strives to make every lesson different, tailored to individual student’s needs, whether he or she is a beginning toddler or in need of advanced technique.

Dance
Jenny has always had a passion for the performing arts. During her years at USC, she discovered Latin dancing. She has performed, choreographed, and taught for USC's Latin dance team Break On 2 and is still involved. She has participated and performed at numerous salsa and bachata festivals/congresses.

Music
As a teacher, I try to make music learning as fun and well-rounded as possible. Every student is unique, and I try my best to accommodate every individual's needs. I encourage students to always ask questions, no matter how silly it might sound, and to trust me to help you achieve your goals. I encourage students to tell me their favorite songs and genre of music and use the knowledge to help keep them motivated, to remind them that learning is fun.

For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs.

I learn something new from every student, love seeing my students improve and gain confidence in themselves. I ask that students come with an open mind and be prepared to make mistakes because no piece is perfect and neither are lessons. Lessons give you the opportunity to make mistakes without judgement. You can trust me to always have a positive attitude, it is OK to make mistakes, but practice to play better, and enjoy the feedback to see yourself improve! Learning piano does not happen in a few lessons and is a lifelong rewarding process. I hope to see you treat music with respect, so let's make beautiful music together!

Dance
I also provide choreography for wedding dances (couples, father/daughter). My main focus is on the social aspect of Latin dancing, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and cha cha. Thus, I will only take students who are able to go out dancing to studios, restaurants, and clubs, meaning 18+ individuals or groups. Every week, I will provide new, cool, and stimulating choreography that supplements technique while developing your own unique style. I love to see my students out on the dance floor, implementing moves learned and having fun! Dancing is a healthy, joyful activity. Get ready for a confidence boost and let's get your heart pumping!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music - Upright piano and teaching/practice materials.
Dance - Music playing device, carpet.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Music - Student should have a keyboard or piano and practice related materials. Dance - Ladies should have secure, comfortable heels. Gentlemen should wear non-rubber soled shoes. Preferably wood or laminate floor. Carpet is ok but will have a harder time developing technique. Also should have some sort of stereo or speaker system, a computer is OK if it is loud.

*** Specialties ***
Piano: All Ages and All Levels. Classically trained. Encourage students to incorporate favorite songs/genres of music be it rock, pop, jazz, etc.

Dance: Wedding dances and Latin styles for social dancing, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, & cha-cha. Personal choreography based on routine moves augmented by current trends.

Tutoring: elementary to middle school subjects. study skills, hw help.

Excellent piano teacher for our 6 year old son. Jenny is patient and great overall with kids. I appreciate the incorporation of both theory and practice into the lessons Seven months in, we have seen significant progress and best of all, our son is showing initiative to play on his own.

About Clifford
'Dr. Cliff,' a part-time college/university professor, teacher and tutor with 5 master's and 3 doctoral degrees in a variety of topics: Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, MBA, Leadership, Education and Administration. He has always used proven educational techniques to instruct undergraduate students, graduate students and school children/teenagers (K-12). Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students
and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Math can be so fun!! I will help you make math fun, and we will ensure you learn all the tips and tricks to help transfer those tools from our lesson to the classroom.

About Judi
Hi everyone! I've been teaching in a variety of areas for many years in many different respects. I teach voice lessons, and audition coaching. I've been doing that for a long time! During my "day-job" years, I was an analyst, and I'm especially skilled with Microsoft Excel. And I LOVE teaching people how to make magic on that program. I have done projects that included creating databases, training departments on the use of said databases, taught entire departments at Jet Propulsion Laboratory how to migrate to Microsoft Outlook from (the archaic) Eudora.

My musical talents run parallel with my affinity for numbers. In my life, it has manifested in music composition, arranging, and musical direction. And, of course, PERFORMANCE! I've performed in and around the Los Angeles area for many years. I own a professional Christmas Caroling co
mpany that I direct and sing in as well. So I'm a performer, and a small business owner! So come see what I can offer!

Hello,

I'm a state certified math teacher for 6-12. I have taught math, physical science, and life science for 4 years at the middle school level at a private school in Los Angeles.

I focus on making sure students understand the language of math. I incorporate quality note taking methods, as well as ensure students are solving problems with an organized step by step approach.

I also have an extensive science and engineering background knowledge both in-school and in practical application with 13 years of engineering experience in industry. I often connect the raw math concepts with their applications in secondary level science subjects like physics and chemistry.

For high school students, I always stress the key Algebra principles for the ACT and SAT.

For college students, I am able to cover differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, and statistics.

I can meet in person, but given the horrible LA traffic, I would prefer to conduct online sessions in which I can both ...

About Mark
Hi!

I'm a former engineer turned math and science teacher. My Mechanical Engineering education is from Stanford and my masters in Engineering Management is from Milwaukee School of Engineering. I have over 6 years of teaching experience in public, charter, and private school classrooms. I have 2 years of experience working part-time at one of the top-tier professional tutoring centers in the nation which has trained me to teach subjects ranging from beginning reading to high school courses and SAT/ACT prep.

I can teach any math from K-college. I like to say "K thru Calc!"! I have a passion for learning and try my best to light the fire for learning in all of my students. When it comes to the nuts and bolts of math, that's the easy part, but I take it father and have fun with math through story telling, connection with language and with
hands on applications (which can still be done online!).

Try me as a tutor and you will not be disappointed... : )

I have 17+ years and 2 Masters Degrees teaching K-6th grade. I have extensive training in mathematical concept development. A student can only reach their mathematical potential once they have mastered the skills necessary to understand i's foundation. I focus on the principals of a base 10 system and I am competent in Common Core.
For many struggling children the effort it takes to complete a math assignment interferes with their desire to do math at all. If we want children to become competent mathemticians we must build a reason for learning the process. My curriculum will be tailored to your child and will attempt to to find topics that they are interested in at their level.

About Kate
