I have been teaching math for several years now and understand the need for a good foundation. I work with students to find any concepts they have missed or do not fully understand. My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!
I have extensively studied vocal performance for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, where I extensively studied the anatomy of the voice. I am the founder of BAWS Studio where we train artists in all aspects of performance (singing, songwriting, recording, piano, and guitar). I previously worked for a recording studio (Sound Summit Studios in Naperville IL) where I teach voice and help singers record their music in the studio. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the World.
I have a bachelors
degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectations that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.
*** Lesson Details *** Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music
*** Specialties *** I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.
Phenomenal. Gets to the point, is great at demonstrating, and provides feedback you can work off of.

So far, lessons with Ben have been VERY good (and productive! I'm naturally a reserved person, but He has gotten me to push beyond my comfort zone (that is "be louder"), which in retrospect has also helped me build my confidence in other areas. So at this point I look forward to having lessons, because I am growing in my understanding of how to use this God-given gift; a gift that's meant to be shared (not hidden away in silence).
Hello! My name is Jinko and I love teaching! It's a joy for me to see people's improvement and success. I was born and raised in Tochigi, Japan.
I have been teaching Japanese since I moved to America in 2001. Currently, I teach Japanese at community college and home. Also, I teach at Saturday school(HOSHUKO) in Bethesda, MD, where students can learn many subjects in Japanese. At the same time, I am raising 3 children as bilingual.
I earned B.A. and certified in Japan as a teacher. 11 years of experience as a public school teacher gave me a joy to see children's success and achievement. Learning is fun! Not only children, but adults too, can have fun to learn something new. My role is to help and support them to achieve their goal.
Because I use both languages, I can teach efficiently, explain details, and provide
some useful tips. I am very good at finding what kind of learning style they prefer and make you feel comfortable while you learn. Also, I believe it is one of my talents to find out what each student needs to practice and study in order to improve their skills. Which means I plan my lessons based on your needs so you can learn efficiently. I am very confident that I can provide high quality lessons and make you satisfied. My experience and constant effort to improve my teaching skill is the benefit for you.

Lesson cancellations and rescheduling must be done 24 hours in advance before the scheduled lesson. If you do not reach me within the 24 hour period, you will be charged for the lesson. Please remember that you must contact me 24 hours in advance or you will be charged for the lesson. No matter what the reason is.
If you can't make your scheduled lesson for more than two weeks consecutively (for vacation, camp, and so on) I need to give your lesson time to another student. My schedule is very tight since I work with many students. Which means that I can't afford to hold a time slot with a student who can't consistently show up. If you would like to start lessons with me again, please contact me with your preferred time slot from my availability.
If you will be late for your lesson, please contact me by text or email before your lesson starts. I will wait until you log in, but I can't extend your lesson time. I have a minor in mathematics from Brigham Young University and I tutored mathematics in high school and at university.
Traci splits time between San Francisco and NYC, and currently dances with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, New Chamber Ballet, and Cello Pointe. Recent projects have included guesting with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens; dancing Merce Cunningham's Inventions, Locale, and Fractions; and in Masks of a Woman by Kristin Draucker. She has performed classical and neoclassical ballets with Neglia Ballet in Buffalo, NY. Traci is a fantastic teacher because she is a fantastic dancer. She knows how to guide you whether you are overcoming an injury or trying to take your dancing to the next level. Traci takes ballet seriously but with lots of humor and grace!

I reached out to Traci to brush up on my ballet technique when I was preparing for an audition. She is a wonderful teacher! Her corrections are always specific and very helpful. Working with her has really boosted my technique and made me feel more confident walking into dance calls.
I am a certified teacher with a masters degree in education and eight years of experience. I have taken advanced coursework in mathematics instruction. I use research base strategies to help students develop mathematical thinking.
Hello, I am a certified teacher and also an engineer. My main goal as an educator is to help students realize their true potential. Beyond helping my students complete homework or learn a new skill I provide them with tools for success. I teach my students so they can take charge of their learning.
I hold a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. Prior to earning my masters degree, I was a bilingual educator for six years. In addition, I have conducted research in language acquisition and math and have been trained using research based learning strategies. I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked six years in this field.
I work with students all ages. I am available for homework, homeschooling, and enrichment activities. Before meeting with my students, I gather the ne
cessary information in order to create a lesson plan that will meet the student's specific needs. I have extensive experience in curriculum design. My approach to teaching is student-centered. I use a variety of methods to ensure that students are active participants in the learning process and get the most out of instruction.
I have worked with students with special needs including, learning disabled, ADHD and gifted and talented. When planning my lessons, I make sure that the activities included are appropriate for the student and use students feedback in future planning.
My tutoring career began as a sophomore in high school when I started to tutor a family friend. After that, I led my own free tutoring program at my local library for underserved children. It was a great experience for me to develop a mentorship with the kids and to develop my leadership skills. Once I graduated high school, I got a summer job with Jose Valdes Math Institute. Since college began, I’ve been doing a lot of one-on-one tutoring with students and I absolutely love it. Math rocks!
As a tutor, I realize that all students learn things in different ways. I try my best to help the student understand the material, not just to memorize it. If the student doesn’t understand it, I try to approach the problem a different way. Having a stable foundation of understanding is especially important when it comes to subjects like math and science, in which the material is cumulative.
Hi! My name is Yazmin and I am the oldest of five. I was born and raised in San Jose, California and now I attend university only 15 minutes away from home, lucky me! I enjoy working out and I am always up for anything outdoors— hiking, picnics, bicycling you name it! I am a junior bioengineering major at Santa Clara University. My freshman year, I was one of thirty first year students to be awarded for outstanding academic achievement. Once I graduate, I hope to attend medical school and one day become a physician.
Yazmin was terrific! My daughter felt very comfortable working with her. Yazmin was confident with the chemistry content and very good at explaining and
re-teaching the material. I highly recommend Yazmin and are looking forward to working with her again.
Since elementary school, I have loved math and I look to pass that passion onto my students. I have helped students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade learn math and grow to appreciate it. There was one person who was a mother trying to review concepts to better teach her child. After our session, she commented on how effective the session was at helping her refresh on concepts and learn a different way of solving problems, different than what they had learned in the past.
I am a graduate of Alabama State University and have a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics. I have years of experience helping students in the ASU mathematics lab. I also have experience tutoring high school students as part of the ASPIRE Mentoring Program and I have tutored elementary and middle school students as well. Topics that I have tutored include basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and calculus.
While tutoring at ASU, I have modified my tutoring style to provide better service. What happens is that during the first few sessions, I get to know each person and some things about the course that they are taking such as the syllabus content, the type of grade the person wants in the course, the number of points each assignment is worth, and the date of the next major test. I then try to hold tutoring sessions in accordance w
ith this information. During a session, I go over homework, explain concepts that may be misunderstood, go over topics that I think are especially important, and sometimes give practice problems. I do a lot of visual explanations for concepts. Periodically, I would ask about the grade that was made on a recent test and modify my tutoring style if necessary. My goal is to help everyone that I tutor strengthen their mathematical skills.
Usually, I tutor by appointment and each session usually lasts for about 1 hour. In order to reschedule or cancel an appointment, I request a 24-hour notice. I am willing to meet in a public place or online.
I also make videos that cover math concepts in order to make it a little easier for students to get the information that they need to be successful. If you would like for me to make a video, please let me know!
I am a math tutor at Brookdale Community College. I tutor students in a variety of college math courses, going from basic algebra up to Calculus 3. With a good foundation, any topic is manageable. Homework is key and my students have to complete it before our lesson. The key to succeeding in math is to be extremely organized and have a notebook which contains class notes, homework and extra practice problems. I encourage my students to re-write the class notes after they come home from school. This way the students actually understand what happened. Before any of my lessons I ask the student to send me an outline of the topics they would like to go over and I prepare accordingly. This way my time and their time is used efficiently.
Hi! My name is Michelle and I math tutor and piano teacher. I also help Russian natives learn English. I am a math tutor at Brookdale Community College. At Brookdale I tutor students in a variety of college math courses, going from basic algebra up to Calculus 3. As for my piano lessons, my piano students are expected to improve on a weekly basis. In my lessons, besides playing compositions, students will also be taught piano theory and technique. I have mentored students of all ages and can customize a lesson accordingly. I have experience with performing and composing music. I am also fluent in Russian and specialize in teaching English to Russian natives. I prepare Russian speakers for the U.S. Citizenship test. Before any of my lessons I ask the student to send me an outline of the topics they would like to go over and I prepare acco
rdingly. This way my time and their time is used efficiently. Please reach out to me with any questions and to set up a lesson!
I consider Michelle to be one of the best tutors I have had. She helps me understand the material perfectly and is always willing to help me at any time. She helps me see the best in me when it comes to my knowledge on something. I 100% recommend Michelle to everyone!

Michelle is super helpful and accommodating! I have only had two lessons but I can feel myself improving already. I have learned so much in the past two weeks and have eliminated some of my bad habits when playing. I'm super grateful that I was able to find her!
I tutor children from K-5. I like the Singapore math method and experience with common core math from K-5. I am a big believer of Kumon style of math that some facts just simply have to have the repeated practice in order to gain fluency which is very similar to learning another language but I make the learning an enjoyable experience.
I love teaching especially language as I am passionate about language. I also speak Chinese and currently learning Spanish. I have been teaching Japanese about 20 years from the age of 2 to adults. I do not just teach but I also try to give you the culture/background of the Japanese language. I believe that helps for many people to master the vocabulary, listening, writing and speaking. I also have worked with companies of understanding about the business culture in Japan.
