Learn Elementary and Intermediate Level Clarinet with a Patient Teacher who Troubleshoots Squeaks!
I have been playing the clarinet for 23+ years and have been teaching private lessons since 2017. I specialize in beginner students who are just learning and beginning with the clarinet as well as those students that are returning to the instrument. My students not only get to work through technique, rhythm and tone exercises, but they will get to participate in virtual solo competitions.
Solo performances help with performance technique and I hire a judge to provide additional feedback. The student can choose to invite others to view their performance or they can keep their performance available only to the judge and myself. Regularly performing helps students become more confident in their performance and helps prepare them for honor band auditions, school solo competitions, talent show performances and even college entrance auditions. Solo performances are in May and November.

Hi, there! My name is Victoria and I cannot wait to meet you! I love sharing my passion for music with beginners and helping them navigate beginning to play the clarinet or returning to the clarinet after a break (whether that break is summer break or a life break).

I love helping my students work toward their individual goals and overcoming challenges. I have helped students audition and make the Iowa All-State Band, play songs that students want to play/perform, help with memorization of scales, teach beginner fundamentals of music and the clarinet, helped students audition for college music programs and prepare for solo/ensemble contests. I work with your goals to help craft a lesson plan that is specific to you.
I have performed with local (SEIBA), collegiate (Central College & University of Iowa), and state (Iowa) honor bands with the clarinet.

Victoria is a wonderful teacher. I had no music training or experience, and out of the clear blue, I decided to learn to play the clarinet. Oh, I should point out that I’m an adult. I’m older than you; actually, I’m older than most people. I’m 65. If you think that’s too late to learn to play an instrument. Victoria will prove you wrong. Victoria took me from how-do-you-put-this-thing-together to playing a four and half minute song in one year. What was incredibly amazing was that every lesson was over Zoom. Victoria has a well-thought-out plan that accommodates whatever style of music you want to play. She is charming, engaging, and patient. If she could teach me to play the clarinet, she can you to play.
