I just recently started with Dee. She is doing a great job of helping me realistically assess my performance, and constructively set goals to improve the aspects that need work. It's been fun and very helpful.

Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.
I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.

Gabriel is an amazing coach. He takes the time to explain in detail how to discover a character in an easy to understand way. As a beginner he has really helped me learn to break down a script and understand what is going on. He teaches you how to set yourself apart from the crowd in an audition. I highly recommend Gabriel to anyone seeking to better their craft or begin acting!

Gabriel developed a proprietary method of accent reduction that makes it easy to focus on the areas that need change or improvement. The method, combined with Gabriel’s passion for teaching, make the classes dynamic and productive. He quickly identified my problematic areas, and patiently worked with me on changes I needed to make to the way I pronounce certain sounds.
He also provides ample resources and direction for exercises in between the lessons to make the progress faster. I highly recommend Gabriel for accent reduction classes.

I have been teaching and coaching actors for 20 years. My students work professionally on stage, TV and film. Within the first few lessons, you will understand how to create a character. Soon, you will have the skills to book a role. I specialize in method acting, but draw upon my experience at The Second City (improvisation) in Chicago and other training I have had. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels; I can't wait to meet you!

I graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where I majored in drama. I taught Method Acting, Acting for Camera, Improvisation as well as other classes at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. My
students, both at the Institute and from private coaching, have appeared in independent stage and film productions, TV shows, commercials and Hollywood films.
Acting is the art of bringing a character to life. I use the Lee Strasberg Method, my original exercises and a fun and serious demeanor to help actors express themselves as artists and gain the confidence and skills they need in order to book acting jobs.
My book, "The Young Actor's Handbook", is published by Applause Theatre and Cinema Books. "The Young Actor's Handbook" ignites the beginning actor's creative soul with acting exercises, acting theory, writing exercises and insight into what it means to be an actor. This is a pragmatic manual that guides and informs the young actor, beginning actor, novice acting teacher or anyone who wants to understand acting.
"Jeremy Kruse's book, "The Young Actor’s Handbook", leads the young actor on the correct path. Jeremy is an experienced acting teacher who has broken down acting in an academic way while nurturing the soul of the actor. He understands the emotional aspects of good acting. I commend Jeremy and believe he has accomplished quite a feat in writing "The Young Actors Handbook." - Vincent D'Onofrio

Denise was absolutely amazing, full of energy, knowledgeable.. she made me feel comfortable and was excited in seeing me succeed.. beyond excited to have her as my acting coach .. most definitely recommed her to others!
Film & TV acting is far from the same as its sibling, Theater acting, and should be taught differently. I'm an experienced Theater and Film acting coach of 8 years, and I have experienced the difference of the stage and screen. Thus, I structure my lessons, so students learn what they want and need to learn, while also building a strong foundation of the serious acting skills they will need.
Come on; you have been acting since you were a child and trying to lie to your parents, let's put those skills to use!
So, I first became interested in acting at age 2 when I learned how to lie, like all kids do. However, my love for it started when I was 9 after I was given a camera for Christmas. My early attempts at films were mostly amateurish and spontaneous...yeah... But in late 2009, however, I started work on a more ambitious project, Beyond Under, inspired by the biblical account of Gideon. As that project took shape, I began to take all forms of storytelling more seriously, a lot of people might say that I actually take storytelling to seriously now. But hay, I look at it this way: if storytelling was a good enough tool for Jesus to use to teach when He walked on earth, then storytelling should probably be taken seriously. Anyway, back to the story. I worked on the script for Beyond Under for a year, then, we spent another year and a half actual
ly filming it. By the time Beyond Under premiered, it was a 95-minute feature film with a cast of about 60..ish. I know, I'm an overachiever.
"Lessons with David were absolutely amazing. He helped me come out of my shell, and not be afraid to perform in any situation. What I have retained from my
lessons have and will be used in many situations to come, even outside the acting/film world. Thank you David for changing my life for the better."
"She took her time teaching me. she is very knowledgeable in techniques!"
"This is an update since my last review. Just came back from filming. I want thank Kim for her guidance, her support to make my first acting successful! S

"Taking lessons with Rachel has been one the best decisions I've ever made. She not only has helped me with acting but has helped me become a better person
. I've grown to understand myself and I've learned and done things I would never have done. And would never have been able to do. Her lessons will not only help you perform, they will help you in your everyday life."

"I met Alicia through a school for modeling and acting, my daughter had just started classes there, I had previously submit her application for a short fil
m audition, not affiliated with the school. I was nervous when contacted for the audition, knowing she has no experience, I mentioned her audition to Alicia and my fear, she was so excited for my daughter and was willing to work with her as her acting coach, my daughter not only got the part, I was told her audition was awesome. Alicia coached my daughter only twice before her actual location shoot day, I received so many compliments from the film director and camera crew how well my daughter played her role like a pro, thanks to Alicia. I recommend Alicia to a friend of mine in need of an acting coach for her 5yr old son, she is excited so is her son, he enjoys every minute with his coach. Alicia is the best and will bring out the best in her students."
"James is a wonderful film acting teacher. He taught me the importance of self-confidence and postivity. I have a new-found positive outlook on acting, tha
