I've been instructing painters for several years both beginners and experienced. I love to see people get creative and I can help you too in a laid back format. I am an expert artist/painter with artwork all over the world. If you're new to painting, as long you have a little artistic talent (even if undiscovered) I can teach you to paint. Whether you want to learn just for fun or plan to go to design school, I can teach brush techniques and various subject matters - Abstract, impressionist, still life, portrait (intermediate only) and landscapes/seascapes and even human figures. If you'd like to learn to create digital paintings or traditional paintings, I can teach either.
I can help you get started or pick up where you left off. I prefer acrylics or oil paints.

I've been drawing all my life and still enjoy it. It's a great pastime and a creative way to express yourself. You'll need, pencils, large pad of paper and to keep a sketch book for this class. You'll learn different techniques and ways to see things on paper. If you want classes in the Manhattan Beach library, let me know, and give me some time, so I can schedule a room there in advance.

Although my focus as a TakeLessons teacher is primarily in music, I also teach a killer Calligraphy class. I do not take the fact that I am 'multi-talented' lightly. I know good calligraphy and I know mediocre calligraphy. Before getting more involved with music, I taught Calligraphy at a junior college for 7 years. I taught over 750 students and took classes from a student of Donald Jackson, one of the Scribes of the Queen of England. I can strengthen the work and techniques of intermediate or advanced calligraphers (and illuminators) and am very adept at teaching beginners. We can meet in my music studio or your home. I have a list of preferred materials and love this amazing communication form.

Online or In-Person Oil Painting Lessons with Las Vegas, Nevada based Carolyn K. are for beginner thru intermediate level artists who have never been taught, or perhaps never mastered, a step-by-step way of approaching painting whether it be in oils or acrylics.
Carolyn has a unique, fun and easy way of interacting with students and conveying information, sure to delight students! She feels strongly that a solid, organized structure is the surest way to achieve the success of a completed work. It is the difference between artists who can become prolific and those that accomplish few pieces in their lifetime with most works becoming abandoned out of lack of an approach to completion.
About Carolyn
I am absolutely passionate about oil painting!! If you want a teacher with passion and zeal, supportive, encouraging, and kind...I'm your gal!! I really care about your success and encouraging you to remain a life long student and lover of art!
