Students can expect to focus on learning a good foundation. I am familiar with several different approaches when working with acrylic paints. They include but are not limited to; direct painting, graphic approach, building up of layers using glazes and dry brushing. I also sensitive to the surfaces acrylic is used on; paper, canvas, fabric, metal and wood are just a few.

Private Acrylic Lessons Near You
Acrylic paints are one of the most dynamic types of media for painting. Depending on the substance used to dilute the paint (water, gels, or pastes), dried acrylic can mimic the finished look of watercolor, gouache painting, and even oil paints. This makes acrylic painting highly attractive to artists, as it limits the amount of supplies that need to be purchased, but not the number of possibilities.
Acrylic paints are available in a variety of grades, designed for beginning to advanced artists. Whether you're just getting into painting or hoping to explore a new medium, learning to paint with acrylics is a great choice!
Why Learn Acrylic Painting?
Acrylics are one of the simplest and most accessible ways to start painting. This versatile medium can be used to create highly pigmented images, but also provides the ease of water-based clean-up. You can use acrylics to create realistic images or abstract paintings. They can also be applied to a variety of substrates, such as canvas, wood, plaster, and more.
In addition, acrylics dry extremely fast. This makes them ideal for short sittings, such as acrylic painting classes. In an hour or even as little as thirty minutes, you can complete an entire painting with layers and all.
The Best Way to Learn Acrylic Painting and What You'll Practice in Lessons
You can find free acrylic painting classes online, the best way to learn this versatile medium is by studying with a private acrylic painting teacher. In private lessons, you'll receive your teacher's undivided attention and the kind of personalized instruction that simply isn't possible when studying in a larger class setting or watching online videos. With immediate feedback, you'll overcome personal challenges and improve your technique, while learning at a pace that's comfortable for you.
Plus, every private painting class is different. Private tutors customize each lesson to meet the student's needs, keeping in mind preferred learning styles, interests, and existing skills. For example, acrylic painting lessons for children differ greatly in terms of subject matter and teaching style from acrylic painting classes for adults. In private lessons, you'll stay motivated and interested, while focusing on the styles of painting that interest you most.
