I'm an award-winning artist having taught watercolor painting & drawing for 20 years. I’ve participated in dozens of exhibits & art shows. I create educational videos on YouTube. I LOVE teaching. I've taught students of all ages from the US & Italy, including at Cleveland Botanical Garden, Missouri Botanical Garden, Illinois Central College, in churches, libraries, home schools, & at Harvard University Extension School, Cambridge, MA. We can paint or draw what appeals to YOU...from oceans to flowers to abstracts to landscapes to seascapes, etc. Some of my students are now professional artists & some have become art teachers. The materials can be simple. For drawing, we’ll use drawing tools (pencils, charcoal, etc) a great eraser, & paper. For watercolor painting, we'll use a couple of good quality brushes, about 6 paint colors, watercolor paper (or watercolor canvas), water and a palette. Ta-da! You’re ready to go. (I’ll provide a detailed supply list for enrolled students.)
Creating videos demonstrating how to watercolor. Creating step-by-step online free lessons showing how to create a painting. You can link to both at WatchingPaintDry.com I have also taught at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Shaker Heights Library, private lessons in richmond Heights, OH., and online lessons with students in MN. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.
We produce educational videos for YouTube that use art techniques as a forum to connect people to their creativity and nimble thinking. We think everyone needs more art in their life. Art gives people a voice. It allows us to flow to a contemplative space to unwind, recharge, and be attentive with the intuitive, "free-styling" part of our thinking. Plus, through the videos you can become a good painter. And, it's fun!
The Ohio Plein Air Society is a collection of artists and art lovers sharing a common interest in outdoor painting. While we recognize that all art is important, as a group we focus on painting, drawing, and other art forms completed on site, from direct observation, and outdoors. Our admiration for the world around us gives us reason to explore through art the diversity and uniqueness of Ohio’s landscapes, cityscapes, lakes, rivers, and streams, and beyond. As a non-profit organization, OPAS welcomes and supports artists, patrons, educators, and enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, backgrounds and interests.
Ohio Art League is an innovative leader in Ohio for supporting artists during all stages of their careers. OAL connects member artists to patrons of the arts, the community, and exhibit and studio spaces. Through professional development, mentorship and advocacy, OAL works strategically to help Ohio cultivate and retain top art talent while positioning the state as a hub for the arts.
Founded in 1976 by members of the Ohio’s museum community, the Ohio Museums Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. OMA works with a variety of museums, museum professionals and providers of museum services to strengthen the state’s museum, foster excellence in the field and support the museum community.
The Alliance has been bringing museums together since 1906, helping to develop standards and best practices, gathering and sharing knowledge, and providing advocacy on issues of concern to the entire museum community. Representing more than 30,000 individual museum professionals and volunteers, institutions and corporate partners serving the museum field, we are the only organization representing the entire scope of the broad museum community.
