All artists need to learn the basic fundamentals of drawing. I'll show you how to sketch ideas using reference imagery in pencil, focus on composition, form, light, shading, and more. As you progress we can introduce more mediums such as ink pens, alcohol markers, India ink, or colored pencils. I'm also happy to teach digital drawing, using various techniques to sketch and develop crisp linearts.

My drawing specialties are people, animals, and nature landscape scenery, so if any of these things interest you, let's get drawing!

About Emily

Greetings! Do you love to draw or paint either digitally or with traditional mediums? Do you or your kids love cartoons, anime/manga, or comics? How about figure drawing, or lovely nature landscapes? Drawing animals perhaps? How about portraits? Well, if you answered 'yes!' to any of these, then I'

Emily works with my son developing his drawing skills before he leaves for college to study digital animation. He really needed to work on illustration skills and Emily has been amazing! I can’t believe how quickly his skills are improving!! But more importantly to me is that my son enjoys the lessons. He is very comfortable working with Emily and his confidence has grown in the process! I can not speak highly enough about Emily as a teacher!! She has a very calm and supportive approach which is perfect for my son. My son does not drive so it is really convenient that she is willing to travel to my house for lessons!

I found the class very helpful and enjoyable. I've made a lot of progress and it really helps that it's one on one.

My daughter first met Emily through a summer camp that she participated in. She came home excited and told me that we HAD TO take lessons from her! She has been taking drawing lessons from Emily for the past year and has grown so much in skill! Emily is a patient, kind and caring teacher. She really has a wonderful way of connecting with her students and is supportive of their art style. I would highly recommend Emily!

Ana is absolutely amazing; I explained that I am a slow learner and she went through Photoshop steps with extremely clear instruction at my own pace, making sure I understand the concepts, not just memorizing steps. Also sent me links to instructional videos to prepare for my class. Among the best instructors I have ever had in my life.

As a teacher for 7 years one of my favorite things is bringing the arts into teaching. I've taught infants through adults, beginners and advanced, and the one secret I can absolutely tell you about learning, is if you are happy then you are going to learn a lot more! I'm excited to get to know you and make you smile!

One of my favorite categories of painting is abstract. I love to see colors swirl, shapes form, and ideas flow in a free form way. Abstract is great for beginners, because you get a chance to grow in your confidence while growing your blending and brush technique.

About Loren

I'm an artist, musician, and language aficionada. I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia, graduating with honors as a Magna Cum Laude in Spanish and French Linguistics. I was so fortunate to become your student this summer during my holidays in LA, it was the best choice of a tutor I could have ever made, which did open the door to new knowledge and the way to the world of photography. Appreciate so much your tailoring those precious and exciting classes to my practical need in photography for marketing aimed at marketing business business. Your tips in both subtleties and grand scale of composition are priceless. As a beginning photographer I greatly admire your talent of an artist and genuine utmost desire and ability to teach people to see, value, grasp captivating beauty of this world!
